41  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: September 20, 2016, 11:50:26 PM
If you need steady income to live off of, get a job either in fiat or BTC.  Crypto jobs are few and far between,  so always have a real life backup plan.

If you just want some pocket change, sig campaigns are the way to go.

47  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to manage money? on: September 06, 2016, 08:24:53 PM
It depends on if you're talking month-to-month surviving, or long-term saving.

If you're trying to just make it paycheck to paycheck, budget on paper and use software like Mint to make sure you follow it.  Try to cut corners on luxuries and save on things you need when you can.

As for long term saving, put aside a certain amount to be automatically saved out of each check.  Divide it up between different types of investments according go however you see fit, just don't make it easy to access.  Have an emergency fund put aside of a few thousand along with long-term savings.
48  Economy / Lending / Re: .5 loan (Fuck Paypal) on: August 25, 2016, 03:42:33 AM
As for the thread that was linked,  I believe that the loan was given in PM shortly after posting, hence the imposters trying to jump in.  I will never ask for payment to be sent to an address different than the signed one, unless the address is specified within the signed message.

My password has been changed just in case.

Holy shit y'all are paranoid.  Took longer for the bank to process my mobile deposit than normal.

As for the other thread, I'm a student and have no credit history,.but I wanted a loan against my car for some cash so I was looking for a cosigner.  I found one RL so the thread is going to be closed unless it doesn't go through.

As for no communication, QS forgot to update it when I messaged him back.

Hi,

I wanted to follow up with you regarding the loan that was scheduled to be repaid no later then yesterday.

Regards
QS
Sending it on my lunch break, had trouble mobile depositing a check
Sounds good. Thanks for the heads up.
50  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for loan cosigner on: August 24, 2016, 03:25:54 AM
pm sent. will expect your information if you are granting, i don’t really know how i can cosign though?
i don’t know the lender IIRC, so most likely i am independent and have better justification. Smiley
Responded, sadly going to need somebody in the US

I'll be posting pics of the car it will be used against in the morning
51  Economy / Services / Looking for loan cosigner on: August 23, 2016, 07:30:58 PM
I'm looking for somebody with a good credit score to cosign on a loan for moving expenses. The loan is secured with a car worth 2x the value of the loan, so there is no risk to the individual.

Depending on the rate I'm able to get, I'm willing to pay 100-200 for this service.  PM me if you would like further details.

If you happen to be in the Winston-Salem area I would be open to meeting in person to discuss this.

(The loan in BTC I have now is getting paid back tonight BTW, don't bother pointing it out)
52  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Bitcoins? on: August 18, 2016, 03:59:59 AM
I would have said Bitfinex in the past, but recent events have made me back down from even considering that.  Given the high risk of P2P loans, I don't think there is really a good way to invest them.  Just buy some coins and invest using fiat.  BTC is enough of an investment in itself without adding another party into it.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do we need loans, since we have subsidies? on: August 18, 2016, 03:56:47 AM
Not everybody taking a loan is even in a bad situation that would call for subsidies.  People take out varand mortgage loans all the time when they are making plenty of money. Its just about being able to go spend money you don't have at the moment.
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: 350 USD in August on: August 18, 2016, 03:55:19 AM
350 seems like a big low of a prediction to me, but the way things have been looking recently I do think we are going to be going into a bear market.  Slrst case I would expect around 400 this month.
55  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank Of England to create it's own Crypto, centrally controlled of course on: August 17, 2016, 02:53:31 AM
I don't see an issue with this.  Its a way for people to transmit their money with the benefits of crypto's low fees, but have the security of a central bank instead of jumping into the volatility.  It should be able to coexist with BTC just fine.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: August 17, 2016, 02:51:26 AM
I really don't see BTC as being something that will be able to overtake fiat someday.  People don't want to exchange money backed by the government for a currency that can be worth 10% less overnight.  Even if the volitility weren't there, people want security that Crypto simply can't provide without being tied to fiat.

BTC is a great way to send money, but at the end of the day most people would just use it to pay less when moving fiat.
57  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Dont use Coinbase on: August 17, 2016, 02:48:45 AM
Holy shit, that is a lot of money to have go missing without any response for that long.  I thought they were a good company for the most part, but I'll have to steer clear in the future.  Hopefully your bank can end up sorting it out..

Let's wait for another day or two before we make any conclusions, Coinbase has been buggy for the last few months but I have yet to be ripped off. I've been using them since early 2014 without incident btw.
Even so, with amounts of cash like that it's just unacceptable to not be in constant contact with the customer over the issue.  That much money gone can really mess somebody up.
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: August 17, 2016, 02:43:39 AM
Yes, we can. If we can establish bitcointalk members and get more than 1 million people to support it we can manipulate bitcoin price. If it is less than that I do not think so.
I don't think getting that many people coordinated to do it would end up working.  If the plan to do something with the price was public, there would be just as many people going against the plan to try and make money on it.

60  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: August 17, 2016, 02:40:34 AM
Getting a real life job is the best way to get money, though the delay before actually getting paid sucks.  In the way of Bitcoin, using sig campaigns and offering any service on the forum that you can.

Survey sites and whatnot also can make a little, even if its not that much by the hour.
