161  Economy / Speculation / Re: sold my alts, all in BTC on: March 13, 2016, 03:48:25 AM
Right now I think Ether has a good bit of credibility to it, but certainly not buying in at what could be the top of a huge pump.  Besides that I don't really like alts with the only exceptions being ones that actually being a useful new feature to the table.  They're great for speculation and trading, not so much for long term stores of value.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Is America a failed nation? on: March 13, 2016, 03:41:46 AM
I believe so that America is not a falling nation for most of other country depends on American economy. Other countries including Asia, depend always on America including defense force and other economic ways. I still remember when America economy falls, followed all other countries for recessions, loosing jobs and closing business this is so sad during that time..

That is not a reason for not being a failed nation. Them being important is evident but them a failed nation? Well opinions differ. My opinion is they are halfway there with Trump becoming the next president. They will come in a big downfall. that's for sure.

Trump might be throwing a lot of radical views right now, but he will temper down if he does indeed become president. He is just playing to the gallery right now. He will become practical once he is elected.
I don't know, he seems like the kind of guy that actually believes what he's saying, which is a scary as hell thing.  I'm putting more faith in the checks and balances than ever before if he does become president... not looking forward to what his ideas of making America great again would look like.

163  Economy / Speculation / Re: big accounts continue coin accumulation on: March 13, 2016, 03:27:15 AM
How do we know that one person owns those coins simply by addresses with a lot of money in them?  There's plenty of exchanges and services out there, and all the smart ones are using cold storage.  That means what may appear to be a 'whale' is just the pooling of hundreds of user's money.
164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MOST COMMON MISTAKES OF A NEWBIE on: March 13, 2016, 03:20:43 AM
  • Always use escrow on the forum, preferably multisig
  • Never mix Crypto and reversable payment methods like Paypal
  • If it seems like too good a deal, it's probably stolen/carded/hacked
  • Don't keep large amounts on an exchange
  • Don't use a online wallet like Blockchain.info.  For smaller amounts use a local wallet like Electrum, cold storage for larger ones
  • Accounts can be freely traded on here, be careful who you trust
  • Always verify who you're trading with using a message on here.  Never send right over Skype/IRC
165  Economy / Economics / Re: Negative interest rates means cash is better than banks on: March 13, 2016, 03:16:10 AM
It may be true in the way of pure interest, but having your money in a bank protects you from robbery, fire, etc.  Not to mention trying to make any large purchase with cash now will end up not going very smoothly.  The majority of people will shrug it off rather than go to a measure as drastic as keeping large amounts in cash.
166  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which would be the break point in your opinion? on: March 11, 2016, 04:33:50 PM
At this point I don't see a clear enough pattern to make a call either way, so I'm just staying in fiat for the moment.  I think we're gonna be pingponging between 390 and 440 for a little while now before finding some sort of a longer term trend.  If we break either of the lines shown I'll probably consider making a position, depending on how the market reacts.

167  Economy / Economics / Re: European Central Bank cuts interest rates to 0% from 0.05% on: March 10, 2016, 11:27:47 PM
At this point keeping your money in a bank isn't for making interest on it, it's to keep it safe along with not making it look fishy that you have a ton of cash.  Even if negative interest rates become the norm, I don't see people minding enough to consider doing something like just keeping their cash in a safe (especially things like retirement money).

168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $700 again on: March 10, 2016, 11:23:56 PM
This is why I have liquidated my position in Bitcoins. There is very little upside going forward. Block size limit is too low. No forward moves of late have any traction whatsoever and demand continues to lag. Way too little upside for such a risky proposition so my advice is to move into dollars.  Only a significant change in the economy could alter this forecast.

USD? Wrong move. Altcoins..... namely Ethereum, Bitshares and Monero... mostly.
If Bitcoin comes crashing down I think any altcoins are going to have a very hard time taking it's place.  People that got burned the first time are going to be very hesitant to put their money back into something very similar.

The best case scenario I can see is them co-existing and eventually not having related prices.  Just because you have a Visa doesn't mean you can't use a Mastercard, same thing here.
169  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: March 10, 2016, 11:04:59 PM
Bitcoin work is a nice way to earn some income on the side from home, but I don't think it can touch a real-life job unless you have some special skill to sell (in which case, accept fiat and crypto).  It's just too unstable to base your whole income on.  Bills that need to be paid don't care of Bitcoin fell 20% yesterday and you're short on money, that won't happen with a normal job.
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go back to bellow $400? on: March 10, 2016, 11:01:51 PM
I'm surprised at how well BTC is holding over 400 right now, but I don't think going back under is out of the question.  We haven't really had any signs of an attempted rally, just kinda sitting here.  There's no resistance except the psychological one at 400 if a flashcrash started a panic wave.  We're going to need to dip down a bit and prove that there's support before it's safe to say we won't be going back sub-400 soon.
171  Economy / Economics / Re: Out of all the ways to stimulate the economy, QE is the best. on: March 10, 2016, 10:59:27 PM
I'm missing the connection between addiction and Economics..?  Unless you're saying getting hooked and giving money to the dealers will stimulate the economy, in which case you're really just helping criminals instead of honest workers.  Not to mention addicts can go to extreme lengths to get their fix, so they'll end up stealing from people in a lot of cases.
172  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: March 10, 2016, 10:55:33 PM
bitcoin have died many times already. the ones who's thinking that bitcoin just died and will never rise again think of it as those short-living ponzi schemes. this is not true because bitcoin was made to last for decades and not just as an investment but as a currency.
You are right, but i believe 90 % of people buying BTC because they believe this is good investment, not because they gonna use it as money. Maybe in near future when price stabilizes. But even then this will always be speculative currency.
This is good if you looking from perspective btc have more similar to gold than to money. Wink
It seems to me like this is a great way to keep Bitcoin from progressing much further out of the community than it already has.  What's the point of a company starting to accept it for payments if people just want to hold onto it?

We should be encouraging people to buy and spend them just like they would with any other form of digital money like Paypal.
173  Economy / Economics / Re: ATM & Overdraft fees at record highs on: March 10, 2016, 10:29:12 PM
Overdrafting is the biggest bullshit ever... you get to make money off holding onto our money, then if we try to spend a bit more than we have you let us do it and then charge over 30 bucks, rather than simply declining the transaction.

It's designed to take advantage of the poor like everything else the financial elite does.  If you have enough money to not overdraft you're not going to get the fees, meanwhile they hit the poor people with them time and time again.

I can't wait to switch to a bank that doesn't fuck you in the ass with them...  Fuck Wells Fargo
174  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Vaporizer for bitcoin! on: March 10, 2016, 10:11:35 PM

Gyft has cards for eBay, buy one and get this one Wink

I never used something like that, where can I buy that gift card for bitcoins?

Tnx for suggestions, its very helpful.
Go to gyft.com here.  Make an account and select the card amount you want in increments of $5, select pay with Bitcoin and go through the checkout.  Within 15 minutes you should have a gift code to use on eBay (though it may take a couple hours to activate it)

As a bonus, you get 3% back in points that you can use on a future gift card purchase every time you use BTC Smiley
175  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & Bitcoin on: March 10, 2016, 01:56:11 AM
Governments has nothing to do with btc as bitcoin users are anonymous as long as they did not label their addresses with a data that leads to them. So they can not control its transaction nor tax btc.
And this is why decentralization is the best part of btc
That works for peer to peer trades that fly under the radar, but any big company is still going to be charging tax.  While it is possible with how Bitcoin works, we shouldn't be widely touting one of it's best benefits being that you can illegally save money.

I look forward to seeing a day where we have crystal clear laws on how we can use Bitcoin, and more people/businesses getting involved.  There will always be a market for doing illegal things with crypto just like cash, but the people that want to go by the book need to have a safe way to do so.
176  Economy / Goods / Re: [NSFW] Panties & More on: March 10, 2016, 01:52:52 AM
Fuck off you're not welcome here Angry.
Jeez, you sound pissed that this may be the closest you could get to a girl.  If she wants to sell them it's her right.  There's a market for it, she's supplying a product.  Isn't that kinda what we should be encouraging on here?
177  Economy / Lending / Re: I need a small loan paying high interest on: March 09, 2016, 10:29:17 PM
I'm pretty sure this is the equivalent of an account sale.  If you look at his history, he has a bunch of accounts registered a while ago that he made an attempt to sell.  The account was mostly dormant until very recently, and the only posts more than a few lines from him were trying to sell things Wink
178  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] $35 Amazon Claim Code on: March 09, 2016, 10:23:31 PM
It would be easier to make a sale if it was bought in a store with cash... this could easily have been bought with a stolen credit card.  Would have been interested, but not taking the risk.
179  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I'M SELLING 10K AMAZON ACCOUNTS , 3 YEARS OLD on: March 09, 2016, 10:22:07 PM
Can you explain why people need that much accounts? Are there any benefits of buying fresh account?
My guess would be writing fake reviews for your product or some money laundering purposes.
