1321  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: August 18, 2016, 03:24:16 AM
I prefer to use bitcoin than gold.
If I had gold I wouldn't know what to do with it or where to store it.
I would be so paranoid that someone was going to steal it from me.
So yes.. I prefer to use bitcoin any day over gold.  Wink

gold is still a very good investment, although i share your concerns about where to store gold when you buy it but it is still my favorite thing to invest in after bitcoin mostly because of the sability of gold price and the age it has.
1322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin down to 500? on: August 18, 2016, 03:20:37 AM
Is the bitcoin price crashing? $500 is a huge drop for bitcoin.

Will the bitcoin price go lower than $500?

I believe it is capable of going lower than $500 if there is another big dump that will be caused by another hacking incident. Most of you will think that lightning will not strike again should always expect the worst when dealing with bitcoins. We have not seen everything yet in the bitcoin scene. But I also think there is strong buy support under $500 and it should also be considered as an opportunity to buy cheap coins. So I do not think it will stay under $500 long. But under $600? It will until the end of the year or more.

i agree, but that big dump that you are talking about will not happen out of nowhere. there should be some kind of initiative for the dump like the bitfinex hack or something of similar nature then such dump can happen.
otherwise the price will start to rise soon and will go back to $650+
1323  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did I tell you? BTC will stay down under $600 on: August 18, 2016, 03:16:24 AM
your prediction is just a random number with no reason to come true and if it comes true and stays below $600 randomely you will come here and gloat about it but if it goes above $600-700 then you will disappear from the face of the forum and never say a word.
1324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA Hacked - Bad publicity for Bitcoin on: August 18, 2016, 03:13:46 AM
this is mostly bad for NSA not for bitcoin, they have been hacked and hackers are only receiving their payment that way as they have been receiving payments in the form of fiat in unmarked bills

There's something strange about the recent addresses sending money to that Bitcoin address the hackers take auction offers in. Someone has been generating vanity addresses to write the words of a pop song in them.

https://blockchain.info/address/19BY2XCgbDe6WtTVbTyzM9eR3LYr6VitWK

These are the most recent addresses in the same order as blockchain.info shows them.

1325  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: August 18, 2016, 03:10:11 AM
i think it would be a nice change of pace if i could receive my salary as bitcoin but also it may cause some troubles down the road for spending it.
1326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Losing Passwords & Wallets... on: August 14, 2016, 05:16:08 PM

When you create a wallet you receive an email to your email adress. In that mail there is a connect link to your wallet. People are so stupid that they lose even they email adress

Depends on what wallet you use, most wallets dont need e-mail address.
If you want to really have a secure wallet adress you register it with a e-mail adress or maybe a phone number . Or you simply write on a piece of paper that details for login and wallet number
[/quote]

all these things are in the category of super risky bitcoin wallets and if you are using email it means you are using a third party to generate the bitcoin wallet which will also introduce a whole lot of risk of trusting a third party.

the only solution is cold storage that is done right, all other methods have some sort of risk, some low and some higher risks.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling vs Betting on: August 14, 2016, 05:10:12 PM
gambling amd betting is same have big risk
but gambling is pure of lucky if bet you can predict it from the best team
and still high chances to lose our money

Betting is also a part of gambling, so there is not a big difference between both of them but in sports betting one need some skills to guess the results but at the end luck also need to win the bet. Other casino games mostly depend on only luck so there making money is very challenging. So both should be same not much difference.

they are the same thing, and saying they differ is only word play.
and also it doesn't matter what you call it, as long as it has some attributes it can fall under the category of gambling and being risky and should be avoided kind of thing. these attributes are like the risk, the unpredictability and money being involved.
1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you have 1 BTC, what coin will you trade with it ? on: August 14, 2016, 05:07:15 PM
If you have 1 BTC, what coin will you trade with it ?

i would spread it between multiple altcoins.
right now ETC seems to have reached a bottom and since ethereum foundation dump of ETC has hit a brick wall i expect it to rise.

also there is the sleeping giant Litecoin which has a potential of rise.

also less than others but i invest in LISK too because it seems like a good idea to me.
1329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEver keep all your coins on an exchange on: August 14, 2016, 04:58:59 PM
Gox
Cryptsy..

If you have most of your coins in Bitfinex.. there will be little mercy when they disappear.
I don't trust any exchange website except one because here in my country i use only bitcoin wallet to hold my bitcoins it is also a exchange website where we can sell our bitcoin into fiat. So that they can able to deposit our money into banks because the bitcoin wallet i use now are partner in some banks where they use to deposit our money.

I agree with you. I also only trust 1 market bitcoin website from my country and so far there is no issue on this website, but i'm not keep many coins on this site.
But like you, the local site has always become my priority because maybe their will giving a more guarantee, in my local exchange there are a people is getting hacked in their wallet and getting stolen but the exchange wanna for indemnify that .

This is always the concern in exchanges.  You will never know when they will run or shut down.  It is always a reminder not to leave your coin in the exchange but the mere problem is that people who are trading in the exchange cannot put an order in their wallet might it be sell order or buy order so they have no choice but to leave those fund in there.

people never listen to this warning and they will always end up losing their money too because another exchange just goes down because of a hack or something like that. and there is nothing stopping people from doing it either.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everyone looses in the long run on: August 14, 2016, 04:55:06 PM
It depends on people who playing lots in gambling because people who uses bitcoin as a currency to play gambling and they always get to win they are now addicted because they make profit everyday and i think people are use gambling to earn more money for their daily living and daily needs people are having fun when they play gambling

Well if they are thinking that way that they are going to make gambling as the source of their daily living. It is not going to work, why? Because it is really risky and no one is getting good profit in gambling for treating it as a source of living, why? Because the title says it clearly.

Yes, Any form of gambling is risky and you it's impossible to use gambling as a source of income but instead, We should just use it for entertainment purposes to avoid some loss in life

there are people who are doing it though.
some players like the professional poker players that have dedicated their lives to playing poker and other gambling games and they are actually teaching it to others too as a teacher for a fee. and they are earning money from it.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Putting money in lottery is gambling too? on: August 14, 2016, 04:51:17 PM
lottery games are the worst form of gambling in my opinion.

you pay a fee to enter by buying a ticket or one of those scratchers and then you never win. you always face loss and see someone else that you can not even be sure if it is legit or not wins the lottery and you become depressed.
1332  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the banks dont give free money? Why they loan it? on: August 14, 2016, 04:48:34 PM
Banks offer to loan to create more money, only to offer it again for someone in need to create even more money! Well honestly, I view banks as middlemen for the wealthy investors wanting to create more money and for the average people wanting to borrow some money in order to grow their own. Banks only officiate the loan, creates terms for it, and impose an interest rate on top of the loaned money. That interest would then go to the bank after the money is returned. Banks need to do this in order to profit, and it is simply a business, that's why no bank has ever given the masses free money because like us, they need to earn something.

Very well explained sir,  banks do those things in able to earn more money. They make loans on people so that it would gain profit in long term and they uses the   money of the bank depositors itself especially to those  big  holders. Bank wouldnt exist after all if they dont do those things.

loans are only one of the many ways banks use to earn mony but essentially yes, they give out loans and take it back with a lot of profit over time to make a good business and earn more money.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: August 14, 2016, 04:45:23 PM
Invest is also a gamble, there was some scam dice sites. Like dadice and dicebitco.in, investing there means lost money. And invest ico coins, there are many scam ico coins. Tough to earn money in recent days.
risks are everywhere mate, if you want to invest your money somewhere you should prefer your self to lose your money too. not to only win.
investment also very risky and when it comes to bitcoin and crypto word the situation get worst because this is anonymous world and no one ask these scammers to scam peoples, but there are a lot of legit sites also. find good one.

risks are in every investment that is right but you have to learn how to measure the risks involved against each other and weigh then so you can have a comparison in your mind from the risk versus the reward and then decide where you want to invest your money.
1334  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: August 14, 2016, 04:41:14 PM
Nope. But it would be safer than what it is now. Nobody likes to lose money when they were sleeping. (They like to make money though:)) Those  instant pumps and dumps  attracts gamblers and that's why bitcoin became more popular than anything else. People always think that they will win, they never consider of losing money. So many bought bitcoin with the same thoughts when the price was 1000$ and where are they now?

I think the real investor will prefer Stable bitcoin prices. Its only the short term investor who want high Pump and dump in the prices to gain short term profits.
I think it is also better for bitcoin Community to have a stable bitcoin price.
yeah I think investors would prefer something that has a low risk but has great potential. stable prices will have a lower risk Compared with price fluctuations. so I think bitcoin will Werner popular even if prices Stabilize ? its just my predictions

good investors like volatility too, they love to see price go up and down a lot. if price goes down $50 it means they can buy that thing for $50 lower the market value and the after the rise sell it for a lot of profit.
1335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin down to $570 on: August 14, 2016, 04:38:30 PM
this is one of those topics that is going to turn into all shorts calling the death of bitcoin to be able to buy more themselves.

i suggest waiting and buying as much as possible at the bottom before missing another chance.
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Easier to Convince? Employer to Pay in BTC or Local Store to Accept BTC on: August 14, 2016, 04:35:04 PM
i think it is harder to convince employers to accept bitcoin.
as my personal experience it is always so much easier to convince individuals to use bitcoin, and they can understand and accpet bitcoin a lot easier than a merchant who is only thinking in case of money.
1337  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How do Online Wallets Survive ?? on: August 14, 2016, 04:32:13 PM
There are many online wallets like Xapo and Coinbase that do not charge any transaction fees or they pay that fees by themselves. I want to know that how would they profit from paying for their user's transaction fees ?
If no fees is charged then the transaction take a much long time or even might get cancelled !
they have profits from ads, if a lot of peoples are using it means that a lot of peoples see that ads and they earn good profit from that
From ads? I never seeing the advertise in the blockchain and maybe the source income for surviving just coming from the tax fee from every transaction. but for blockchain, i'm not feeling doubt about that because every second is always there a transaction.

open up a link to a bitcoin "transaction" and you will see two big pictures at the bottom of the page those are advertisement.

also i have not seen the new version but in the old version of the wallet in your home page of the wallet you could see multiple links to services like gyft on the upper right side of the screen these are also ads.
1338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin + Exchanges = ? on: August 14, 2016, 04:28:19 PM
bitcoin should be able to survive even without exchanges, the only difference in case no exchange was available was that price may have been lower and the changes wouldn't be this much.
1339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price falling?? on: August 13, 2016, 05:41:19 PM
Why is the price falling at current???

yes price now, sadly, is falling down and i do think that it will stop anytime soon, because price should rise soon as people will buy some bitcoins because of halving

no change in price after halving happen, and people may have to sell their bitcoin and panic when prices fall. but the price has back to increased slowly. most likely the next few months the price will return to $700

those who panic has sold their coins so many times starting from even before the halving. these people sell their coins when price goes down $1 and then after it rises up and it is too late they come back in just to sell after price falls $1 until they run out of money to invest and then leave bitcoin forever with watery eyes. these guys only fill the pockets of the whales.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: August 13, 2016, 05:37:18 PM
Every altcoin is paired against bitcoin. Even them ethers are traded againat bitcoin.
Like all stocks are paired with USD, all shitcoins pair w btc. BTC will never die.

many of these altcoins are also paired with USD and other fiat currencies like EUR. that is no reason for bitcoin and not dying of it Cheesy
although i am saying the same thing bitcoin is not going to be replaced by these altcoins but the reason for it is those altcoins are not good enough to be able to take bitcoin place.
