21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 31, 2013, 07:40:42 PM
Interesting - Sierra implies Batch 2 is shipping too.
22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: December 29, 2013, 03:33:09 PM
Well, on the 23rd, I got an email that they would try to ship my unit by the 24th and give me my tracking number.... It is the 28th now and I am still waiting for my tracking number so I don't think they even shipped my unit.

I guess you werent shilling hard enough, so you didnt qualify for their "1 TO 2 WEEKS OFF THE EXPECTED SHIPPING TIME FRAME" shill bonus.

In AMT's defense, they said 1-2 weeks off expected, not actual. Wink

If it is HF, why would 1Stats (eligius.st stats donation address) give them money?

I don't think this is HF.

1 for me please.

How much is the US customs tax for $1900 in computer accessories?
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 25, 2013, 04:56:07 PM
Man, I was about to yell at y'all for being offtopic and not talking about trolls... until I noticed they'd renamed the thread. I've fixed the name back. Next time the OP abuses their ability to edit the thread title for a long established thread to change it to something unrelated, please report it to the moderators.

Aww, I was hoping that AMT came to their senses and turned over a "be professional" Christmas leaf. Hopefully they do anyway!
26  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHFAST warranty just TEN DAYS after delivery on: December 25, 2013, 07:13:33 AM
It's too bad there is no way to detect that this chip has been overclocked. No warranty is unfortunate. I would like to hear more about this chip replacement program.
27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast thread derailment part 3 on: December 25, 2013, 06:46:48 AM
I don't see how the responsibility of the HashFast threads getting derailed is a moderator's fault or a customer's fault.

People are asking questions and getting ignored. HashFast_CL is posting to the thread and repeatedly not answering the question. What the hell is expected is going to happen next? People are going to try to guess and then disagree and then get into pages of arguments having nothing to do with "custom hardware" and everything to do with "what is the answer to this question that HashFast was talking about 1 month ago, but has never spoken of again."

We see people ask about the refund policy, which HashFast described back when they wanted money. Now, when asked for clarification, no answer.

We see people ask about the MPP timing - when will we get it, HashFast sold MPP at sale time, revisited it to acknowledge it began retroactively in October, but then absolutely no answer. So, they were talking about it and then abruptly stopped.

TBH, I wish the thread would be less of the bickering and just contained actual answers from HashFast on their intentions, as well as they know it, even if to say they don't know, but they are thinking about it.

This is a pretty apt comment:
The signal to noise ratio here is astounding Angry

But wtf - there is an argument about how obnoxious the noise is? It doesn't matter what the content of the noise is when there is very little signal. HashFast doesn't have its own forums and stopped posting to its own blog. I get that they're busy building the product and are panicked because it's behind schedule, and I understand that - but then to step in and join the argument about the size and shape of the noise when they are the ONLY credible source of signal? If the company itself is not willing to provide signal, who is supposed to do that?
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How Trolls Harrass Bitcoin Miner Manufacturers. on: December 24, 2013, 05:35:38 AM
Thus, like I said... like every MFG does... They state perfect-world estimated ranges. 40MPG Hwy - 32MPG City, but it never gets that, ever... Thus 300-600W, and the "max speed" may only be 1.2THs. They never said what the low speed is.

MPG numbers aren't "perfect world estimates". They are actual tests done on those vehicles by the EPA and manufacturers are forced to publish the EPA numbers regardless of their own estimates or real world performance. So, unless these numbers are coming from a national [supposedly] unbiased testing facility, your analogy is not accurate.

29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Icebreaker - Hashfast CEO alter ego? on: December 23, 2013, 01:51:36 PM
I find it hard to believe icebreaker is associated in any way to HF.. If anything he is a paid shill from a competitor. Nobody makes HF look as bad as icebreaker does.

Agreed. I would distance myself from Icebreaker if I worked at HashFast. Having someone run around and launch personal attacks on your customers is not someone to be associated with.
30  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 23, 2013, 01:49:53 PM
That post aught to be deleted. People keep believing it.

I reported that post for trolling and disinformation.  It's especially cruel to new members and non-native English speakers.

Is it not cruel to get our hopes up that these machines would be delivered in November?

Dozens of pages in this thread are community members shooting personal attacks at each other because of the ambiguity of the refund policy - would refunds come in BTC or USD, if customers paid in BTC and at what exchange rate... These are people who don't know each other and have no beef with each other otherwise. HashFast will obviously have a concrete refund policy at some point - is it not cruel to withhold this information instead letting people be mean to each other?

Disinformation only exists in the vacuum of real information. You can easily solve this problem yourself and I appeal to you to do so.
31  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: December 23, 2013, 04:44:25 AM
I wish you guys didn't promise December so we could enjoy that video as much as you do. It's very impressive.
32  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server Power Supply Interface Board - for standalone miners and GPU rigs on: December 23, 2013, 02:47:40 AM
This is a great project, I have a pile of old 2950 power supplies lying around that I didn't know could be used for this.
33  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 22, 2013, 09:13:33 PM
Visited HashFast office yesterday! They where quite busy so I tried to stay out of the way but I did get to see this hashing away! Smiley

You saw the unit hashing and instead of asking why the hell they don't ship the units or taking any photo or video of the actual performance specs that everybody wants, you took a useless photo of the pcb.

Tell me more  Angry

Actually, he did:

35  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GHz/s - In Stock on: December 21, 2013, 07:01:38 PM

Is R8B sold out? This thread still says OPEN, 73/75 available..
37  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 19, 2013, 05:01:35 AM
Well that settles that. They clearly stated that the guaranteed delivery date was 12/31.

I'm not sure that the posted image qualifies as "clearly stating". It's actually the opposite - there are two delivery dates with a 2 month delta almost next to each other. I'd call that ambigious or unclear.
38  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Free choice Group Buy 5/15 - ANY price over 0.01 is OK on: December 18, 2013, 01:16:02 AM
Can you give more of a description on the hosting facility you have and your experience with hosting hardware/uptime/SLA?

Escrow is great for trusting that you can do an exchange with someone, but providing a 24x7x365 high-availability computer service is a whole new ballgame. A degree in electronics is not the right skill set.
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Scam List on: December 17, 2013, 11:56:07 PM
You have to set the definition very clearly in the first post or else this is going to be pages of debating non-scams.

It doesn't matter what it is, but it can't be left to interpretation - it can't be anything about unknowable things like intent.

It has to be something objective like there are people who can prove that their money was taken and there are no people who can prove anything was delivered.

I think there are plenty of poorly run businesses all over here which are their own worst enemy, but are not scams.
40  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: My experience with waldohoover from Coiningsolutions.com on: December 17, 2013, 11:45:26 PM
The problem with waldohoover was that when we started asking questions about the terms that we all agreed to, he responded with silence and when he did comment in the thread, he refused to address any of our concerns. Communication is the key element of these Group Buys that seems to be ignored when things aren't going well.  DyslexicZombie's co-op should be the model that other group buy coordinators strive for when it comes to communication.  They are always publicly responding to every single concern that is brought up.

I totally agree that communication is one of the most under-appreciated parts of business, which is unfortunate considering how important it is and the impact it has. It's unusually bad across all Bitcoin mining operations on these forums. (That being said, I am not making a comment about waldohoover because I've never dealt with him/her)
