121  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 18, 2013, 01:52:59 AM
Amy,

Any ETA on seeing the Batch 2 BabyJet order chain on the website?
122  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: October 18, 2013, 01:50:14 AM
Misleading blog post title! However, Seasonic is awesome.
123  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: October 16, 2013, 05:41:44 AM
Can you have the Difficulty page update on its own like the market pages do?

Thanks for a great site Smiley

We're all emperors wearing no clothes. The reality is that too many people have ordered too many GH/s worth of hashing for too much money, given the fixed daily reward. No one is going to win. The surplus has been gladly taken by BFL in particular, followed by KNC and then Hashfast and who knows who has ordered from Cointerra. The contrarians who bet on Bitfury and early Avalon have done well, and I salute their well-placed bets.

A game theorist might have seen all this coming, knowing how to predict what everyone else was doing. Mere mortals, despite endless theorising and model-making, have been blinded by their own optimism. Who wants a device that makes 0.01 BTC a day for 2 months longer than someone else's device. The real reward is in the first few weeks of operation...

I may plant some tulips in my Jupiter when it reaches its end of life. And hope that Paypal and eBay decides that Bitcoin is the future for online international payments, sending the demand through the roof. But I'm not holding my breath....

"I'm fucked, you're fucked, we're all fucked"

Emperors, indeed.

Honestly, these "mining is dead" posts are as ridiculous as the "HashFast will deliver 100% of their promises, on time and we'll all be rich" posts. Reality, as ALWAYS, lies somewhere in the middle and no one will agree on what actually happened.
125  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [22 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: October 12, 2013, 11:27:43 PM
Can someone post a 24 hour chart of a BE blade's Hashrate+DOA rate? I want to see what "normal" is.
126  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ATI Cards, Processors, and RAS PIS for sale on: October 12, 2013, 04:41:50 AM
Well that all makes sense.  I just do not like escrow because I got burned by it in the past.  I guess things would be different now.  But I really hate EBAY.

I am soft on the prices of these and they are more for gamers.  I can see your point.  I will work on some numbers.

Thanks in advance.

but feel free to toss a number out.

How do you get burned by escrow?
127  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New more accurate network hashrate forecasts on: October 12, 2013, 04:22:15 AM
organofcorti,

A thought - do you have enough information from the pools to be able to specify average GH/s per user account and get a total # of user accounts? I think if you compared that to hardware available at the time (in terms of either GH/s/$ or GH/s/W), you could perhaps determine a relationship between available GH/s/[$,W] and GH/s/user. Making the assumption that most people have a fixed amount of power/income they can provide to this effort, it might show how future changes to efficiency/pricing can impact total network hashrate. I think that would yield more accurate results than basing it on historical information.

Also, re: your other comments, I do know PHP fairly well and have a Linode that I'd be happy to host with. PM me if you're interested and we can put something together.
128  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [117Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: October 10, 2013, 02:39:21 AM
I can't even see how this is a bad thing. It's almost like wizkid057 is being asked to never speak of Eligius outside this one thread? Is he allowed to make a reddit post? Is he allowed to discuss it on bitcoin.stackexchange.com?

I think it is more reasonable that he is free to use his own time representing Eligius across multiple venues.
129  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [97Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: October 08, 2013, 05:05:48 PM
You can connect them directly to Eligius at the Get Work port, but you will be ~20% down in hashrate, it is recommended to use proxy. Either slush's mining proxy or 32-bit bfgminer.

FTFY
130  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade (New Model)]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: October 08, 2013, 03:17:58 AM
when trying to change the IP and I can not go back to

http://192.168.1.256:8000/

as I can find or reconfigure my blade?

256 is not a valid octet in an IP address. Try something like 200.
131  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hashfast ROI on: October 08, 2013, 01:43:24 AM
It depends on what your opinion is on how the difficulty curve will progress, but in my calculations if HashFast delivers on time, it will ROI.
132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Got $200-300 to spend on mining hardware on: October 08, 2013, 01:41:57 AM
Your best bet is to spend $200-300 on a share in a group buy as a piece of a bigger (and more efficient) miner. The other posters are saying get a blade or an erupter not because it's the best bang-for-the-buck, but because that's all that's out there for $300.
133  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [58Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: October 02, 2013, 11:37:29 AM
wtf

hashrate doubled over the last few days

correct, avalon has shipped a few batches, and they have been assembled. You see on the toplist of hashers ,a few accounts with 3TH each, which equals to one batch of 10K avalon chips.. "fun times ahead"..

oh ok i thought it was due to the 400gh units from bitfury and knc

Bitfury should be part of increase also. KNC only said they started shipping have ppl received units yet?

I think it's refugees from the DDOS on BTCGuild and 50BTC. Those boxes haven't been widely distributed yet.
134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Asicminer BE Blade Stratum Proxy Issues on: October 02, 2013, 03:41:23 AM
I don't know that this helps you, but I also have a blade hooked directly to a Verizon FIOS MI424WR, wireless is enabled, but I need to run either slush's stratum/getwork proxy or the bfgminer 32-bit Windows proxy and it works flawlessly.

My understanding is that the blade only can do getwork and the most reliable configuration is blade -> stratum proxy -> stratum pool. However, the consequence of not doing it that way is latency, not reboots. Not a solution to your problem, but just some additional data when you're troubleshooting.
135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: October 02, 2013, 03:37:07 AM
It would go a long way to establishing legitimacy if you stop calling the chip you are basing your business on "bitfurry"? It's Bitfury.

The boards have 16 chips each, similar to the Avalon boards but built for bitfurry. The design is brand new and already complete. Final testing is being done today/tomorrow.

Anyway, just wanted to announce that after working with our design team we have launched three new bitfurry based products on our site.

Bitfurry based 64ghs, 128ghs, and 192ghs.  These three models have a 4 week shipping period from the date of purchase, but it'll probably be around 20-25 days.

We'll start selling a few devices with bitfurry chips yes. They wont be in hand, but will be shipped out within 20 days of the order. We'll put up those units for sale in the next

Although we've decided to go with Bitfurry chips for the smaller miners, and will release those for sale shortly.

I know, I know, it's just a "typo" and all customers are horrible people that should just trust everyone who posts anything on a forum, but instead of being more angry, just take some constructive criticism, spell the chip name properly and you'll seem more legit.
136  Economy / Service Discussion / Coinbase on: October 01, 2013, 09:48:38 PM
I signed up with these guys (not realizing how much easier localbitcoins.com was) and purchased 10 BTC immediately. I didn't realize you had to wait 10 days for your first purchase, so I patiently waited..

10 days later, they cancelled my purchase and now my refund is "pending".

I think I just loaned Coinbase $1250 and got no interest out of it. Does this happen to everyone?
137  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: October 01, 2013, 09:32:25 PM
And hey Amer, did you try and call the number on the site, buddy? Or talk to the chat box on the site!?
Your rage is misdirected, I just thought it was funny that someone found a picture of your building. The questions to your unprofessional editing was made by the person I quoted.

I'm more interested in your mining than your attitude towards customers, but even so, dial it down a notch.
138  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Countdown for Shipment on: October 01, 2013, 02:14:51 AM
I see the same thing happening with bitcoin. I think that in a year's time there will be petahash units at reasonable prices for the hobbyist, and that the "pre order" game will be largely done. I also think the early adopters will not get screwed the way some of them think they will, as the difficulty would have to rise exponentially for a couple of years before the machines became unprofitable. Those that think they have to make a positive ROI in the first couple of months are either mathematically challenged or just plain greedy. The latter I can at least get my head around, the former requires a lack of real world knowledge. Exponential growth on anything from bacteria to hashrate is an unsustainable paradigm. It WILL level off. Then, it will likely grow in spikes, just like memory devices and computational power has been in the computer industry at large.

I think the level might happen sooner than you imagine. The 28nm chips announced by Hashfast and Cointerra are 400-500GH/s. The next steps are 22nm (like Ivy Bridge) and 14nm (like Intel's Broadwell) which they just announced this month as being an upgrade to their CPU lines in 2014. We've been playing catchup for all of 2013 as ASICs were introduced, but at some point (and I'm just guessing, as I have no industry knowledge, so if I'm totally offbase, someone please fix me) I expect that these startups will start bumping into the plants that produce CPUs and smartphone SoCs, at which point shit is going to get real and the reasons for delay will sound more like "well, we had an order placed, but Samsung kicked us out of the queue".

It's been a meteoric ride so far, but there is no way we see 2000x per-chip increases to 1PH/s in the next year if we're already at 28nm at this point.

139  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC, 100% of their hashing is currently going into their own pocket. on: October 01, 2013, 01:56:23 AM
yeeah , on a testnet !?
And everybody will troll they fixed the tests, like that wil work.....
No they wont— it's not possible to "fix" testnet mining any more than mainnet mining, hashing is it's own proof....  at least not anymore than you have on the mainnet:  How do you know thats KNC hardware hashing and not just a bitfury device or a couple avalons/bfls?
Because matches the Eligius link.

Business men everywhere are all the same.  What they do is limited by the laws of where they operate?
If you think otherwise, you are very naive.
And the contracts they form with their investors and customers. I wonder why so many people here give money to companies that use it to turn around and compete with them?
Was there some contract where it was stated that they are not allowed to mine with their own equipment? I missed this. Wouldn't it just be prudent that if you're producing mining equipment that you also eat your own dog food?

It's proof it's hashing. They will stop, just shut up for a day.
No, it's not proof— after all, it could just as easily be some other hardware. They won't stop either— perhaps temporarily, but you can go find pictures of their build-out in the thread.
Again, the same unit on the laptop in the posted Youtube video is the one hashing.

I have no horse in this race ($0 in KnC gear), but I can't see that this "discovery" really makes a point. They are late on their promises, which is a problem by itself, but if they are mining with one of their own units, I don't think this is damning.
140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: September 30, 2013, 10:17:32 PM
If you are from the USA, then why do you use "1,2TH/s" and not 1.2TH/s" ?  Huh Huh Huh Huh

edit: their website uses a period but he used a comma in his OP.  Typo?  Maybe...

I'll go a step further.  Read and re-read the first post:

Quote
We believe as long as we bring our Miners to market faster and better than most we will develop our brand as a credible, long lasting and hopefully competitive player in the Cryptocurrency mining hardware market. Mining companies have had a control on this market which intern creates a monopoly. It transfers an unfair advantage to the Miner, who after all is the companies consumer. Taking that into account, if we become one of the few companies to take orders and deliver on time and provide decent customer service during the sales process, that alone is worth more in this industry than anything else. Cryptocurrency is not going away anytime soon, and buyer trust will be worth more in the long run.

Notice anything wrong with that?  I do.  "intern"?  I think they mean "in turn".  The whole post looks like it was written by a 7th grader.  Equally concerning...

Perhaps he means "at the moment"?  Maybe English isn't the original poster's strong suit; maybe English is his second language.  Fine, point taken, but....

So what gives?  Another scam?
