41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will increasing banking restrictions lead to a rise in P2P transactions? on: April 16, 2024, 01:47:04 PM
Anything is of possibility at these times. It could be how they react because it's known that we're entering into the bull run so that's a way for them to at least get some control. But, no matter what they do, each of us will still find a way to transact and deal even without the intervention of the traditional processes that we've used to do.

All that you've mentioned Jet are the choices that all of us have got, the p2p platforms you know can also be dealt into scrutiny by the government. It's every platform now that can be questioned by them.

If there are some merchants and OTC platforms that are a separate entity from the banking industry, you'd go for them. But just as how dangerous the meeting in person, you'll never know if some punks are surrounding to that area trying to look for the bitcoin folks that they always thought of having the money and rich.
42  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin's 4 year cycle only coincidence? (This could be actually good news.) on: April 16, 2024, 10:59:26 AM
My theory: It could be good news because it means that it's not necessarily a "given" that Bitcoin has to crash as deep as it did in the past. So it's perhaps likely that future bear markets could be shorter and much less pronounced.

If people understood that many bear markets were caused by external influences, this would already perhaps reduce the amount of panic in downward phases. I've already mentioned MtGox. But there's more: The 2022 crash could have been much less deep if neither Terra/Luna nor the FTX insolvency happened. And there was also the Ukraine war which brought deep uncertainty into the markets.
I'd support you with this theory, why? Because if we go back just a few years back on 2021, the narrative and cycle was truly different at that time. So, knowingly 2021 was the bull run and should be followed by a terrible bear market on 2022 but did we felt that? I don't think so, it's totally different and far from expected bear and slump market on that year, we didn't even felt that it was one.

Even if you don't agree, I think it's a fact that there is no "natural" force that drives Bitcoin prices down 70-80% or more in bear markets. In my opinion it's a combination of these "bad news" events, people panicking, and whales and speculators making profits shorting Bitcoin when they think a panic could occur. Like yesterday. There could be natural phases where the interest in Bitcoin dwindles, but that would probably not justify such deep crashes. BTC could behave more like other assets like big cap stocks, with occasional 20-30% crashes/bear markets but not much more.
IMO that we're like back in the narrative and fundamentals on 2016-2017 where not just all about the craze of ICOs but also driven by the bad news.

We've got a better cycle this one because drivers like halving + etfs are more enthusiastic than of the past. 2022 bear's lowest was around $16k and it was just 4.2x away from the ATH of $69k of 2021.
43  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What people some people don't know about trading on: April 15, 2024, 06:11:03 PM
I have seen where people say trading is a quick to get money.

But I see it differently. Rather, trading is a place that shows those who work hard, put in consistency and are ready to learn and those who think they can outsmart their way in.

Those who earn massively in trading are those who have dedicated 1-2 years of their time to learning a particular skill to perfection.

So, how can you earn 50-1000k like them if you didn't put in the work?
Not just 1-2 years of experience but more of that and think of how much they're able to lose before they've learned the lesson, that's for sure a lot of money that they've used.

The effort that they've exerted and the time that they dedicated in trading to learn and master it can't be compared to anyone who's saying that it's just a way to earn quickly.

Let them trade and see how hard it is to read the market even if you're good in technical analysis, this market is so slippery that sometimes they don't even work.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Network jam. on: April 15, 2024, 04:05:48 PM
Today is 15 Apr 2024.The Bitcoin network is jammed, the fee rate goes to about 100sat/vb. I can see many OP_RETURN transactions at mempool.space. They seemed to have some special use. What are they used for? Cry
Before doing a transaction, check your fees if you don't want to experience hassle. I'm not sure if the BRC20 spammers are back or there's another batch of it as what I've read about the Runes, no idea at all.

If you're transacting some mini transactions, use LN but if you don't know how to and you're going to do it with the actual Bitcoin network. Brace yourselves if you can take the fees or not.

But most likely, it's too high and we just can't throw fees like this.
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery Fever. What are your range of thoughts in response to Lucky Winners? on: April 15, 2024, 01:01:02 PM
I don't bet in the lottery because I know that I'll never win. I don't even take chances even I know that there's the slightest chance that I can win there.

You will never win if you didn’t make a bet. Having 1 ticket is enough for you to have a chance to win. I always purchase 1 to 10 tickets whenever the jackpot prize is already high just to try my luck.
Yeah, no chance if I won't bet but as I've said it's best for me not to take any chances cause it's gotta be a waste of money for me. I'm not from the US but if the prize is like then why not?

Quote
But with that revenue that the government of US getting from their citizens who consistently bet on their lottery, it's because that the pot is also growing.

I've heard that the pot has increased up to $1-B and that's why everyone is getting crazy trying to hit that jackpot.

I check the powerball website of US but I don’t see the billion dollars jackpot prize anymore. I read to in the news before that the pot prize increase to that level but there’s no news about who win that powerball.

It’s so awesome being a billionaire by just purchasing a ticket that cause only few dollars out of your pocket. Shocked
Well, if the chance is higher by being struck with a lightning. I cannot think of how much chance someone needs in winning that billion.

The prize pot has been reported reach into a billion just a few weeks ago.

US Powerball jackpot worth $1 billion up for grabs

47  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest on your dependants if you too must grow further on: April 15, 2024, 08:18:44 AM
I like to watch a lot of videos about how lifestyle and people are doing in different nations. And one thing in common is that, regardless on which country you are right now, there's a struggle economically.

Lesser jobs, lesser opportunities and people struggling with the minimum wage that we all need to budget for our needs and expenses.

If there are people that are dependent on you and they're able to work, much better to encourage them start working their ass off so that they'll able to contribute to your personal economy and help less the expenses.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Im new here but Im old trader i keep eyes on Market. on: April 14, 2024, 11:05:57 PM
We should try to measure the strength of the move, both up and down.  Right now I think 62k is the area we close above for Sunday daily bar but also the weekly bar.  Then we will develop further based on that, so April will be about attempted recovery.
And if many didn't noticed it yet, it's always the weekend where the action happens and as per the start of the week during Mondays, you'd see the recovery comes.

Like if you're looking at the price of Bitcoin now, it has went back to $65k which stayed on $64k for hours. But what's the sense of looking on the prices for hours if we're going long on this.

The most important part is if you did some action to retaliate the price move or if you didn't and you just watched it then another missed moment.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden’s 30% tax is not welcomed by crypto industry on: April 14, 2024, 10:17:38 PM
cryptocrits "read full article" website has lots of pop-ups that want you to download crap... i dont recommend visiting his link

advice to cryptocrit: remove the crappy stuff your site tries to get people to download
This is the better summary than what OP is trying to convey. With this hint, I won't take time to visit your website OP if you want us to go through it.

Going through with the taxation of 30% for the miners, it is surely not welcomed by the miners but since it's just a proposal and Biden is about to end his term and if he ever wins again which is most unlikely from what the survey says then this proposal won't be pushed.

As for the US, it has to gather a lot of tax for its efforts to support those alliances that are engaging into war or else, we will see another printing season of fiat.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar being addicted to online poker on: April 14, 2024, 09:18:40 PM
Moreover, I noticed more personalities are getting involved in either promoting gambling or getting addicted to some games, however, losing everything to gambling or a small percentage of your stable income isn’t the same at all, so it’s better to think twice before betting and gambling the same way these known personalities does.
They're just caught of the camera but it's for sure that many of them engaged in gambling activities off-cam and didn't caught at all.

Soon, we're going to see more of them and new names but have been in their industries for a very long time. As social media has become the back bone of the entire world and everything can spread like wildfire with just a post away.

And it will be globally posted in split seconds and will become a news headline within the day.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 14, 2024, 07:36:45 PM
A win for Jrue it is.
With that period of time, Jrue has got a home to stay but yeah, it couldn't be a good deal for the Celtics but they probably are seeing something with him.
On the other hand, I am pretty sure that the majority of us are excited to see what will happen on the match of the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers.
Both are great team and on the better standing on this first round seed.

Congrats to him, he was able to land such a huge contract and it's a boost on morals for veteran players because if they work hard and keep doing what they have been known for, they could also get such huge money as well as long as they make good contributions to their teams. The problem with them is, that when they finally land a good contract, they end their quality training right there and their playing is dramatically decreased because they slack off on practice just because they secured huge contracts in their early NBA careers, at the end, no one would give them back such huge one because they are no longer the player who deserves that much.
I don't think that those who have taken a long contract are becoming slack. It's possible to be like that when they've got injury and they need to take a rest.

But the majority of them knows that this is business and that's the capital that they're investing for them to get those contracts through continuous training.

That's their bread and butter and whoever is taking it for granted will be noticed and the team's management still has the take to end the contract without prior notice if it's in the clause.

53  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi forces the price of bitcoin to continue to rise over time on: April 12, 2024, 11:45:06 PM
this can damage public trust and also harm miners
Nope, it's not damaging public trust and harm miners. In fact, it's giving more people in the community to be trustworthy with this process because halving is actually a good strategy economically for Bitcoin to thrive more and gain more of its value.

As for the miners, they know what they're doing and have known this for so many years and if they're not in favor of this and been harmed by it, most of them have already stopped mining and the difficulty of mining should have dropdead long ago but it didn't.

So, I believe the price of bitcoin will continue to skyrocket in the future.
No doubt, thanks to halving and mass adoption that creates more demand.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 11, 2024, 10:28:51 PM
I’m a little bit surprised to see the Celtics lock up Jrue Holiday for the next 4 years for 135 million dollars. I’m not sure how old Jrue is, but that seems like sort of a long deal for an older guy on a team that’s already got 2 young max players. I think the genius management over in Boston might be starting to make mistakes as they struggle to get Taytum a chip.

55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Patterns in Baccarat? on: April 10, 2024, 11:41:51 PM
Most of the streamers is just betting on their hunch and some only rely if they saw a pattern like a player won twice which means the banker might win the same amount on the next round or alternate patterns which is not reliable.
I agree.

They don't have their own pattern or strategy, they usually just copy what they see and what is formed on their minds. There's no actual strategy that they lean on towards baccarat or any games of the same type.

What's good with them is that the entertaining part is that they are making it look fine to lose money and making fun of themselves. But this part is where many have been fooled that if the streamer is known to be sponsored by various casinos.

They're free to lose money and given an account with that credit that they'll just have to gamble and show how fun it is to gamble on that sponsor casino.

57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Total Market Cap Has Soared Past $1.3 Trillion on: April 08, 2024, 11:34:01 PM
Coinbase's institutional research analyst, David Han, dropped a report yesterday, highlighting Bitcoin's evolving status as digital gold. This increasing acceptance of Bitcoin as a 'digital gold' could potentially attract a fresh wave of investors into the market. This means that more demand brewing in this market ecosystem.
Several years ago, many of the people here have already said that Bitcoin is the new gold standard and can be described as the digital gold which is now being reported by these folks.

That's why if you've been here for a long time, you know what I am saying that it's been said and treated already as a digital gold even long time before.

Thanks to the most holders out there as we treat our Bitcoins as the digital gold that everyone will not have. Yeah, it's not going to be on the hands of most people because many are still skeptic of buying because before, they're scared of it thinking it was a scam. Now, they're thinking of it as something expensive that they don't want to buy while waiting for its price drop which is unlikely at these moments.
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Call of Duty Cheaters Lose Their Bitcoin as Hackers Target Gamers with Malware on: April 07, 2024, 11:29:32 PM
Speaking of cheaters on an FPS game, I've watched a viral video of CS2(former CSGO) players that have been downloading aim, wall hacks that they're using in the rank matches. But this brilliant guy has developed a bot that will literally do the opposite of the cheat and will destroy the players confidence like bombing themselves, aiming at the sky and all of those sort crazy aims and plays that will do to the player that they don't know how it did happened.

So, connecting it with this kind of hack. They're for sure going to be targeted as many of these gamers have been searching and downloading game hacks that they think are safe to use. They don't know once they've downloaded and installed the app from unknown resources, they don't know what there's something that's attached to it and with this recent news on COD cheaters, malware is on it.

It's known that if it's about hacks, cheats and unrecognized resources, expect that there are worms, malware and viruses out there. And the same goes with unlicensed software, support the license creators by availing the licensed ones but I am not saying avail hacks and cheat codes that are licensed because there's no such.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House always wins? The case of Trump Plaza. on: April 05, 2024, 11:04:55 PM
I have never heard this building since I am not from the state and never followed Trump after he's out of the presidency. But if it's about the actual gambling business, there are several factors that we can guess about it. Maybe, the board of members and directors don't agree anymore to each other and doesn't share anymore the same goal in the long term of their operation and that's a big disagreement that they have to close down the business.

Next, the casino business is no longer profitable which I highly doubt. But who knows, right? With all of the operating expenses, salaries, internal and external expenses, there is a possibility.

Another possibility that adds impact to lesser to no profitability about the change of most gamblers like with the transition of gambling offline to online.

It puts me back in time when majority of us in here have started with faucets. I might try to get into this with best change as I haven't seen a lot of you guys do it anymore but for some casinos like freebitco.in which is one of the OGs that I have seen that still operates today.

I hope that you keep it and won't remove it anytime soon.
