241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency so difficult to understand on: September 03, 2018, 12:17:23 AM
Well, in the grand scheme of things cryptocurrency is several orders of magnitude more complex than what you would discuss in typical day-to-day conversations. You have to remember, many people (typically older ones) don't even understand how to use a computer, they don't use credit cards and they certainly don't understand how blockchain works. You have to get them to understand the fundamentals before moving them onto more complex topics like blockchain.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is TRON trying to take advantage of Venezuela's situation? on: September 02, 2018, 08:41:27 AM
I don't think the tweet is insensitive, it is just stating the truth even if people dont want to hear it they definitely can ignore that the economy in venezuala is completely ruined.

I think that it is a logical move to take advantage of a bad situation and offer a realistic solution to improve things, right now the government of Vevezuala cant handle the inflation of its currency and its cryptocurrency petro or whatever its called is nowhere to be seen.

It is probably for the best to switch to an international system (crypto) now before their situation gets even worse.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why token pay for listing of exchangers on: September 01, 2018, 01:47:52 PM
These exchanges are businesses, its just one of their revenue streams. Think about it, if you had something other people wanted and knew they were willing to pay a lot for it, wouldnt you take that money?

big exchanges like binance, polo and yobit are good resources to have and definitely something you want to provide for your invstors if you are an iCO project. Look what happens when tokens get listed on trash exchanges like hitbtc, the bots take over and pump and dump the hell out of it, leaving the final token price at almost $0!

If your project doesnt have plans to list on a big exchange then you should reconsider them!
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What other forums do you use? on: September 01, 2018, 01:32:53 PM
I used to use the stake forum, but right now it has become really bad with people begging you for money every time they see you have a big win.

Definitely something I would not recommend visiting, as it really doesn't have anything better than btctalk. Also bitcoingarden is ok but again, none of them are anywhere near like BTT!
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Optimistic Attitude on: September 01, 2018, 01:30:14 PM
It's definitely good to be optimistic when there is evidence that the market will regain strength sometimes, but definitely, don't use that to fool yourself into thinking that your bags are ever going to regain their value again!

I've seen way too many people buying into coins and then keep holding even though it is clear that the coin is pretty much dead, even buying in after a big pump at the top, dropping to 1/20 value and still holding!

be optimistic but definitely dont let it blind you into losing a lot of money on trash!
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2018's Top 5 Alt Coins? on: September 01, 2018, 01:30:08 PM
There's a lot of people talking about Pumapay in this thread, I wonder if they have checked the exchange price lately? They would see that it's trading at 1/10 of its value and the ICO has no plans to do anything about it! That's what you get for picking a sh** exchange for your investors! They raised $100m in funds and still can't afford to list on a good exchange?  That's a joke!

In any case, I think that most of the altcoins in 2018 have really been hammered by the market, there's only a few really great ones like LISK, EON and Quark that are trading at significantly above ICO price. be careful!
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] PAYCENTOS - Bridging the Gap Between Cryptocurrency and Fiat on: September 01, 2018, 01:18:37 PM
Nope that is not the issue, the PYN team is not pushing to get listed on an exchange, that is the issue. As we can see PYN not making any updates when they get listed right? We have been supporting this project for a long time now, I understand they might want to delay exchange listing for some time due to the current market but there is no reason to string us along for months on end without even giving us an end goal in sight!

PYN, tell us what your current plans are for exchange listing, and no, we don't mean on a terrible DEX either, we want a proper exchange, at LEAST Yobit.

249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] PAYCENTOS - Bridging the Gap Between Cryptocurrency and Fiat on: April 30, 2018, 11:50:35 AM
after a couple of days there will be burning a large number of coins, it always has a positive effect on the price
But in the  short term only right?  Grin , Paycent still needs more decent exchanges to get more volume and exposure to the public. Also Paycent is not listed on coinmarketcap right? This is one of the major ways to get exposure to the public, so there's definitely a lot of room for growth in future if and when this happens. Personally, I don't think PYN has much of a chance compared to some of its competitors, sure it sounds like a great idea but the implementation isn't great and the team are extremely unresponsive!
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: April 29, 2018, 11:31:52 AM
Hoping to see LSK make a price jump soon like a lot of the other alts at the moment.
Just wait for the incoming consensus summit, Lisk is one of the sponsors of this incoming event. I think they will make a major announcement at this.

So far Lisk has received a crazy amount of support from the community, so it's reasonable to assume that they have got something good in store for all of their supporters, I mean can you imagine how much money it costs to sponsor an event like this? I can't image it was anywhere close to cheap.

The team wouldn't waste such money on a completely useless news update would they?!
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] æternity blockchain ∞ AE TOKEN ∞ [PoW & PoS | Oracles | Smart Contracts] on: April 28, 2018, 02:09:50 AM
What is about total supply of the tokens nothing mentioned at OP even whitepaper is also empty about this.
The total supply of aeternity token is 273,685,830 AE available based on their coinmarketcap but iI actually think they will make changes once their main network launches, such as changing the ratio of tokens or doing a coin split.

Personally, it doesn't really matter, aeternity definitely has the potential for big things infuture, and usually coin splits actually make the total value of the blockchain higher than before, so we should support it!
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: April 27, 2018, 02:34:52 PM
So what would be the best way to access lisk coins? Is it lisk nano, lisk hub? some third way?
The best is still the Lisk Nano Why it's more stable to use and better security than the others.

I've tried out several difference wallets, but they all have one or more issues, so just stick with Nano for now until something better is released.

I heard an update from the Lisk team that they're producing a next generation mobile wallet, so just wait for updates on that if you're too concerned.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] PAYCENTOS - Bridging the Gap Between Cryptocurrency and Fiat on: April 26, 2018, 11:45:16 AM
This is going to be a game changer with low supply of PYN tokens...Good for all investors
But Paycent need more exchanges to trade on so as result Paycent will get more volume and liquidity (the better the volume and liquidity the greater the chance of PYN price to grow. Usually coins that list on trash exchanges often get dumped pretty quick and it becomes very difficult to recover from.

IMO I really think PYN should just wait until they have the capital or requirements to get on yobit or bittrex as we really don't want the value to tank so low it can never recover like some other similar coins.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] æternity blockchain ∞ AE TOKEN ∞ [PoW & PoS | Oracles | Smart Contracts] on: April 23, 2018, 11:21:39 AM
Is there an announced timeline for the token swap ?
Nope but once the main network launched they will announced it ,
Mainnet launch is scheduled for Q2, 2018. We don't have a specific date yet. It depends on the progress of our amazing dev team.
they said the main network will launch this Quarter 2. However we're pretty much at the end of Q2 and nothing has been announced for quite a while.

I expect that it will be delayed until much later in the year as they are having issues with their build I believe, also there needs to be more time to let people know about the switch from test net.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EON] EXSCUDO - ICO successfully finished! on: April 21, 2018, 02:27:44 PM
why did no one ask Andrew Zimine about whether they plan to be listed on centralized exchanges to raise liquidity?
because its not important, EON have their own market channel and I think EON have a good strategy to attract more users to trade on.

Either way you can trade your EON on decentralized exchanges now and the trade volume is pretty decent, at the moment the price is far below ICO price though so you should probably just wait until its listed on somewhere good or take a heavy hit now.

hodl!

Is the main network coming soon?
Maybe on the end of quarter 2 but the aeternity testnet is on live and they keep testing it specially the new consensus mechanism (Cuckoo cycle).
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on Binance 🔹 on: April 19, 2018, 11:25:42 AM
Another question, what's the function of the public key ?
As far I know the public key is an identifier to know what your ark address is. You can use too your public key to sign transactions, address for receiving/sending ARK.

The public key is different from a private key which is used to gain control over the funds (UTXOs) in your wallet, never give anybody your private key as that should be known only by you.

However, your public key is fine to share, but there usually isn't much of a reason to share it in my experience.

WHEN THE BOUNTY FOR SOCIAL MEDIA WILL BE DESTRIBUTED ?
Just contact them dude via their telegram channel: https://t.me/paycent they are more active there than on this forum.

Carefully with the caps though I have seen people banned for this.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EON] EXSCUDO - ICO successfully finished! on: April 17, 2018, 12:23:05 AM
but no info on how to actually claim the coins.
Right now you cannot claim your EON tokens, you need to wait until you can claim it once the EON main network launch that will happen on the end of second quarter.

The EON main network and market channel is still beta testing, so you will probably have to wait several months for this to finish up.

Normally they send out an email closer to the time to help you through the claim process so just be patient.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] PAYCENTOS - Bridging the Gap Between Cryptocurrency and Fiat on: April 15, 2018, 11:44:58 AM
The price is down since ICO not much changes so far. May be cards shippment will change it.
Maybe but Paycent need more decent exchanges and volume , the better the volume the better the chance to rise the value
