They are all going to rule the internet.

People are working hard right now to make this happen. Remember whaling was impossible to stop. Candlelight was impossible to stop. The steam engine was impossible to stop. My Space was impossible to stop. Etc...

Of course there can be life after "death"
We have material and energy but most important then that, we have conscience!
The conscience is our soul.
The conscience is stored in microtubules.
After "death" It is released in cosmos
The sciences think conscience is flowing in cosmos
The Christians ( and not only) think conscience it returns to Creator.
The materialists ( as atheists or others) think nothing but even that they have conscience.

How do you know that?

If you take some quantum view, you might find that consciousness can entangle itself in most everything

Discovery of quantum vibrations in 'microtubules' inside brain neurons supports controversial theory of consciousness

Then... Could it mean that all consciousness is entangled with everything, thus everything is consciousness, not simply trapped in our brain? Maybe that vibration is how the instrument that is our brain is acting like a FM radio and that vibration is the frequency of reception?

‘Shariah zone’ threats make life miserable for Denmark bar owners

Bar owners in Denmark claim Muslim citizens are trying to force them out of business by establishing “Shariah zones” in their neighborhood.

Police and local officials in the Norrebro suburb of Copenhagen have been repeatedly contacted about extortion, vandalism and threats to paying customers.

“Recently some young men came into the bar and shouted that all guests should leave,” Heidi Dyrnesli of Cafe Heimdal told a local television station, The Local Denmarkreported Thursday. “They shouted that the site belongs to them and that Norrebro is a Sharia zone, so there is no drinking alcohol.”

Birgitte Fischer, the owner of Mucki Bar, also testified to threats of violence. She said “Shariah zone” enforcers demanded $9,200 for “protection money.”

Danish Minister for Integration Inger Stojberg visited the businesses Wednesday to speak with the owners and was called a “Nazi” and a “fascist” by two local women, the website reported. The women were detained by police.

“There is a group of young people here who do not behave properly, and we have powerless tavern owners. If you are resourceful, I think you should help with that and can help solve the problem so people in Norrebro can live a normal life,” Ms. Stojberg told Denmark’s BT tabloid, the International Business Times reported Thursday.

A witness who asked to remain anonymous said Ms. Stojberg and the bar owners were making a “mountain out of a molehill” and playing “populist politics.”

Denmark is not alone when it comes to dealing with Shariah activists. A German court ruled in October that a group of “Shariah police” should not have been arrested in Wuppertal in September 2014, BBC reported. The group regularly chastises customers entering and exiting local bars, casinos and clubs.

People on earth are the only sentient beings in the universe who often don't formally acknowledge God. We are way behind on the scale of beings that get things done. Mainstream Media Likens Hillary to Jeb Bush: Can She Even Win?
Shock: MSM admits Clinton campaign dying!

The Wall Street Journal in particular likened the Clinton campaign to Jeb Bush’s failed GOP bid, a surprising – yet brutally honest – admission from the establishment media which indicates the global elite are closing the door on the Clinton dynasty.

And the WSJ wasn’t off-base. In an interview with the Washington Post, Clinton’s chief strategist Joel Benenson claimed that voters would choose Clinton over Trump because her “policies and priorities are better,” but that statement’s no different than what the Bush campaign said about Trump last year, and where’s Bush now?

The WSJ even pointed out the discrepancy between Benenson’s statement to Hillary’s own admission that Bill Clinton will be “in charge of revitalizing the economy” if she wins the White House.

“Trump, meanwhile, said he’ll put Melania in charge of revitalizing the economy… that’s a joke, but and it’s not as funny as Mrs. Clinton’s assertion, which evidently is meant to be taken seriously,” the newspaper stated. “Besides, have you seen Bill Clinton lately? Someone should be in charge of revitalizing him.”

And the WSJ also pointed out that Clinton is struggling to secure the nomination despite her “superdelegate crutch.”

And, speaking of the superdelegates, they’re turning on Hillary.

“I think if I endorsed Hillary that would be off-putting to a lot of Sanders’ supporters,” uncommitted superdelegate Mark Hammond said. “It would close that dialogue.”

“The Sanders supporters are fired up.”

So the conclusion of the study is that you might last a handful of minutes after your heart stops. I would assume that qualifies as death being postponed ever so slightly. Then your life ends.

“This is paradoxical, since the brain typically ceases functioning within 20-30 seconds of the heart stopping and doesn't resume again until the heart has been restarted. "

- May 17, 2016 -

(New York, NY) May 17, 2016 - Yesterday, Donald J. Trump filed his Personal Financial Disclosure (PFD) forms with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), his second annual filing since announcing his candidacy for President of the United States in June of last year.

Mr. Trump stated, “I filed my PFD, which I am proud to say is the largest in the history of the FEC. Despite the fact that I am allowed extensions, I have again filed my report, which is 104 pages, on time. Bernie Sanders has requested, on the other hand, an extension for his small report. This is the difference between a businessman and the all talk, no action politicians that have failed the American people for far too long. I have built an incredible company and have accumulated one of the greatest portfolios of real estate assets, many of which are considered to be among the finest and most iconic properties in the world. This is the kind of thinking the country needs.”

The newly filed PFD shows a tremendous cash flow, and a revenue increase of approximately $190 million dollars (which does not include dividends, interest, capital gains, rents and royalties). This income was utilized, among other things, for the funding of construction projects at various multi-million dollar developments, reduction of debt and the funding of the campaign.

Mr. Trump’s income as reported in the PFD statement is in excess of $557 million (which does not include dividends, interest, capital gains, rents and royalties). Mr. Trump's net worth has increased since the last statement was filed in July of 2015. As of this date, Mr. Trump's net worth is in excess of $10 billion dollars.

Muslim Leader Admits Islam Not a Religion of Peace

Published on Sep 23, 2012

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration has released a review of its strategy in the war on terrorism. The report failed to even mention the word "Islam."

CBN News traveled to London to talk with Anjem Choudary, a leading Muslim radical who says Islamic teachings are what shaped his pro-jihad message.

Although both George W. Bush and Barack Obama have declared that Islam is a religion of peace, Choudary begs to differ.

"You can't say that Islam is a religion of peace," Choudary told CBN News. "Because Islam does not mean peace. Islam means submission. So the Muslim is one who submits. There is a place for violence in Islam. There is a place for jihad in Islam."

Choudary is the leader of Islam4UK, a group recently banned in Britain under the country's counter-terrorism laws. He wants Islamic Sharia law to rule the United Kingdom and is working to make that dream a reality.

While Islamic radicals in the United States usually prefer to speak in more moderate tones while in public, masking their true agenda, Choudary has no such inhibitions.

He has praised the 9/11 hijackers and has called for the execution of Pope Benedict. He also stirred controversy recently when video emerged of him converting a 10-year-old British boy to Islam.

Choudary told CBN News his group is a "non-violent political and ideological movement" that resides in the UK under "a covenant of security."

Yet he openly praises violent jihad.

"The Koran is full of, you know, jihad is the most talked about duty in the Koran other than tawhid -- belief," he said. "Nothing else is mentioned more than the topic of fighting."

Several former members of Choudary's group have been arrested on terrorism charges.

"A very significant amount of former al-Muhajiroun people were involved in terrorist plots against this country," London-based terrorism expert Peter Neumann said. "A number of people have actually gone to Afghanistan, joined the Taliban and died fighting for the Taliban."

Choudary refuses to condemn acts of terror including 9/11 and the July 7, 2005 London bombings, which killed 52 people.

674  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scientists Hold Secret Meeting to Consider Creating a Synthetic Human Genome on: May 17, 2016, 04:25:57 PM

George Church, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School and one of the organizers of the proposed project, said the characterization was a misunderstanding, and that in reality the project was aimed more generally at improving the ability to synthesize long strands of DNA, which could be applied to various types of animals, plants and microbes.

“They’re painting a picture which I don’t think represents the project,” Dr. Church said in an interview.

He said the meeting was closed to the press, and people were asked not to tweet because the project organizers, in an attempt to be transparent, had submitted a paper to a scientific journal. They were therefore not supposed to discuss the idea publicly before publication. He and other organizers said ethical aspects have been amply discussed since the beginning.

The project was initially called HGP2: The Human Genome Synthesis Project, with HGP referring to the Human Genome Project. An invitation to the meeting at Harvard said that the primary goal “would be to synthesize a complete human genome in a cell line within a period of ten years.”

But by the time the meeting was held, the name had been changed to “HGP-Write: Testing Large Synthetic Genomes in Cells.”

The project does not yet have funding, Dr. Church said, though various companies and foundations would be invited to contribute and some have indicated interest. The federal government will also be asked. A spokeswoman for the National Institutes of Health declined to comment, saying the project was in too early a stage.

Besides Dr. Church, the organizers include Jef Boeke, director of the institute for systems genetics at NYU Langone Medical Center, and Andrew Hessel, a self-described futurist who works at the Bay Area software company Autodesk and who first proposed such a project in 2012.

Scientists and companies can now change the DNA in cells, for example by adding foreign genes or changing the letters in the existing genes. This technique is routinely used to make drugs, such as insulin for diabetes, inside genetically modified cells, as well as to make genetically modified crops. And scientists are now debating the ethics of new technology that might allow genetic changes to be made in embryos.

But synthesizing a gene, or an entire genome, would provide the opportunity to make even more extensive changes in DNA.

For instance, companies are now using organisms like yeast to make complex chemicals, like flavorings and fragrances. That requires adding not just one gene to the yeast, like to make insulin, but numerous genes in order to create an entire chemical production process within the cell. With that much tinkering needed, it can be easier to synthesize the DNA from scratch.

Right now, synthesizing DNA is difficult and error-prone. Existing techniques can reliably make strands that are only about 200 base-pairs long, with the base pairs being the chemical units in DNA. A single gene can be hundreds or thousands of base pairs long. To synthesize one of those, multiple 200-unit segments have to be spliced together.

But the cost and capabilities are rapidly improving. Dr. Endy of Stanford, who is a co-founder of a DNA synthesis company called Gen9, said the cost of synthesizing genes has plummeted from $4 per base pair in 2003 to 3 cents now. But even at that rate, the cost for three billion letters would be $90 million. He said if costs continued to decline at the same pace, that figure could reach $100,000 in 20 years.

. Craig Venter, the maverick genetic scientist, synthesized a bacterial genome consisting of about a million base pairs. The synthetic genome was inserted into a cell and took control of that cell. While his first synthetic genome was mainly a copy of an existing genome, Dr. Venter and colleagues this year synthesized a more original bacterial genome, about 500,000 base pairs long.

Dr. Boeke is leading an international consortium that is synthesizing the genome of yeast, which consists of about 12 million base pairs. The scientists are making changes, such as deleting stretches of DNA that do not have any function, in an attempt to make a more streamlined and stable genome.

But the human genome is more than 200 times as large as that of yeast and it is not clear if such a synthesis would be feasible.

Jeremy Minshull, chief executive of DNA 2.0, a DNA synthesis company, questioned if the effort would be worth it.

“Our ability to understand what to build is so far behind what we can build,’’ said Dr. Minshull, who was invited to the meeting at Harvard but did not attend. “I just don’t think that being able to make more and more and more and cheaper and cheaper and cheaper is going to get us the understanding we need.’’

Persian Gulf Sheikhs Gave Bill & Hillary $100 Million [VIDEO] Via @dailycaller

A Daily Caller News Foundation investigation reveals that Bill and Hillary Clinton received at least $100 million from autocratic Persian Gulf states and their leaders, potentially undermining Democratic presidential candidate Hillary’s claim she can carry out independent Middle East policies.

As a presidential candidate, the amount of foreign cash the Clintons have amassed from the Persian Gulf states is “simply unprecedented,” says national security analyst Patrick Poole.

“These regimes are buying access. You’ve got the Saudis. You’ve got the Kuwaitis, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. There are massive conflicts of interest. It’s beyond comprehension,” Poole told TheDCNF in an interview.

Overall, the Clinton Foundation has received upwards of $85 million in donations from five Persian Gulf states and their monarchs, according to the foundation’s website.

Activist groups have charged the five states — Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) — committed numerous human rights abuses.

For years, the accusations have centered on the Persian Gulf practice of importing hundreds of thousands of poor foreign laborers who work for low wages, including hundreds of thousands of female “domestic workers” who have no labor rights and often face exploitation and sexual abuse.

The ongoing Clinton financial relationship with despotic Persian Gulf states could hurt Hillary as a supporter of labor rights and tarnish her image as a vigorous supporter of women.

Yet as secretary of state, Clinton consciously and actively sought to legitimize the sheikdoms through many new Department of State programs.

It’s unclear what kind of promises or concessions the Clintons may have given the monarchs in return for their lavish financial support over the years, but last month the candidate reversed her long-standing support for fracking.

Hillary’s new position, unveiled last month at a CNN presidential debate with Democratic opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders, put her in alignment with the Gulf State policy that opposes North American oil and gas fracking.

The FBI has reportedly launched a second investigation of the former secretary in addition to its probe of her private email server.  This investigation is looking into “political corruption” and is seeking evidence where former Secretary Clinton may have offered official government favors to foundation donors.

Most troubling for Hillary, however, could be Bill’s personal, five-year business partnership with Dubai’s authoritarian ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin-Rashid al-Maktoum and his overall friendship with the rulers of the United Arab Emirates — a confederation of states that includes Dubai.

During Bill’s partnership with bin-Rashid, his stature rose. He now is the undisputed ruler of Dubai and the prime minister of the UAE.

The former president and bin-Rashid did their private financial deals with a California-based private equity fund called Yucaipa Partners, which is owned by billionaire and Democratic funder Ron Burkle. The three became business partners and sought to create an offshore sovereign wealth fund for Yucaipa.

Clinton ended his partnership with the investment firm five years later, but not before pocketing at least $15 million in “guaranteed payments” from the company, according to his personal tax returns from 2003 to 2008. The former president allegedly received another $20 million of “walking away money” to leave the partnership, according to The Daily Beast.

Today, Bill is a regular visitor to Dubai. His friend bin-Rashid runs Dubai as an absolute monarchy where there are no elections. Human rights groups deplore the labor practices of both Dubai and the UAE for the exploitation of at least 250,000 foreign laborers.

The International Labor Organization (ILO), founded by Samuel Gompers of the American Federation of Labor after World War I and now organized labor’s main international labor body, has continued to criticize labor conditions in the Persian Gulf states.

Its 2016 “World Employment and Social Outlook” report stated the governments in the Persian Gulf use “forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking and the worst forms of child labour”

“Given the heavy reliance on migrant workers, the risk of forced labour or trafficking in the Arab States cannot be ignored,” the ILO concluded.

A 2014 Human Rights Watch report also focused on the 146,000 female migrant workers who work in the United Arab Emirates. The human rights group charged the women “suffered abuses that amounted to forced labor and trafficking.”

Migrant workers are excluded from the country’s labor laws. “Domestic workers have virtually no legal safeguards governing their employment,” the activist group reported.

The Clinton Foundation’s ties go beyond support from governments. Four billionaire Saudis, along with groups the Dubai Foundation and Friends of Saudi Arabia, contributed another $30 million to the Clinton Foundation, according to the foundation’s website.

Bill’s Dubai links run deeper than just his dealings with sheikhs. Between 2011 and 2014, he received $5.6 million from the Dubai-based company GEMS Education for serving as the “honorary chairman.”

The American University of Dubai has a William Jefferson Clinton Scholars program and the former president has been a frequent guest of the university.

When she was secretary of state, Hillary also strengthened the Clinton-UAE relationship. The State Department approved Bill’s speaking engagements to the UAE, which delivered $1.1 million to him in speaking fees.

In 2005, Bill personally advised Dubai on the controversial deal where the emirate would own six U.S. ports. The deal was vigorously opposed by intelligence officials who viewed the port as vulnerable to terrorist infiltration. Facing ferocious opposition in Congress, Dubai withdrew its effort to purchase the U.S. ports.

Arab reformers have harshly criticized Clinton’s State Department programs designed to bolster the image of the UAE and legitimize the fortunes of many monarchies in the gulf.

“The fruit of Clinton’s own policy basically empowered the old regimes,” charges Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy and co-founder of the Muslim Reform movement.

Looking back at her four years as secretary of state, Jasser told TheDCNF, “I could not see anywhere where she empowered reformers.” He said Bill and Hillary are part of the “global establishment” that seeks the status quo.

“The ‘global establishment’ has suffocated the peoples of these countries for generations,” he told TheDCNF. “And Hillary Clinton is part of the global establishment of monarchs, autocrats and dictators.”

Hillary launched major initiatives that were welcomed by the UAE. In September 2012, she personally hosted at the State Department a conference attended by executives from 90 American companies, called the Global Infrastructure Conference. It was attended by eight top UAE leaders.

The former secretary also heavily promoted and spoke before a December 2012 State Department program called the “Third Global Entrepreneurship Summit with Entrepreneurial Ventures of Arabia,” which was held in the UAE. The Persian Gulf nation called the State Department’s conference, “UAE’s flagship platform for innovation.”

Her effort helped legitimize the UAE’s poor global image. A 2015 Freedom House report flatly ranked UAE as “not free.” On a scale where one was “best” and a seven “worst,” Freedom House ranked the UAE a six for civil liberties, political rights and overall freedom.

During Hillary’s term, the U.S. consulate in the UAE also organized with senior UAE officials a trade mission that traveled across the United States seeking U.S. investment.

In December 2011, Hillary personally led a U.S. delegation to the UAE and met bin-Rashid at his Zabeel Palace with UAE Foreign Minister and de facto leader Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Zayed family gave between $1 million to $5 million to the Clinton Foundation, according to the foundation’s web site.

The Clinton Foundation seems to have tolerated extremist Islamists in their Middle East offices. An Egyptian court sentenced a former top Clinton Foundation employee, Gehed el-Haddad, to life imprisonment in April 2015 for “inciting violence” and supporting an Islamist protest against the military-led ousting of former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

From 2007 to 2012 el-Haddad was a Cairo city director of the Clinton Foundation in Egypt and ran its in-country office as well as directed communications.

El-Haddad had a well-known reputation for promoting radical Islam. He formally joined Morsi’s Freedom and Justice Party in May 2011 as a senior adviser for foreign affairs, overlapping for more than a year during his tenure with the Clinton Foundation, according to his Linked-In social media page.

Clinton also could be doing the bidding for the Gulf States on domestic issues. As previously stated, she recently reversed her support for fracking and announced her opposition to it.

Hydraulic fracturing of shale has turned the United States from an importer of oil and gas to an exporter, which threatens oil producing states, but particularly oil producers such as Saudi Arabia and the gulf states.

A 2014 left-wing Mother Jones Magazine article lashed out at Clinton’s aggressive promotion of fracking overseas. “Under her leadership, the State Department worked closely with energy companies to spread fracking around the globe,” it charged.

It was particularly critical of her convening a State Department shale oil conference in August 2010 that was closed to the press. “The media was barred from attending, and officials refused to reveal basic information, including which countries took part,” Mother Jones reported.

In a March 6 CNN debate, however, Clinton reversed her fracking position and laid out many conditions she would impose as president on the continuation of  fracking.

“By the time we get through all of my conditions, I do not think there will be many places in America where fracking will continue to take place,” she told the audience.

Richard Rahn of the Institute for Global Economic Growth said he believes Hillary changed her tune on fracking in part to appease the sheikhs in the gulf.

“The Clinton’s always do everything in a calculated manner. ‘Ok, I go after fracking, why not go ahead and make my environmental friends happy, but at the same time reap the benefits from foreign source income by making my Sheikh’s happy,’” he told TheDCNF.

Dr. Steven J. Allen, vice president of the Capital Research Center, which monitors dark money flows to advocacy groups, agreed.

“Why would she take a position on fracking that would alienate people in places like Pennsylvania after it’s not plausible that Bernie could get the nomination,” Allen asked.

“The oil states in the Middle East would be interested in our not attaining energy independence. So fracking would be something they would be against and would be quite happy with her reversal,” he said.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow asked Clinton in March if she should shut down the Clinton Foundation. “Is there a case to be made, an ethical case to be made that the Clinton Foundation and the global initiative should essentially be wound down as a family foundation while you run for president,” she asked the Democratic candidate. “I think it is not unreasonable to suspect that people may give donations to The Clinton Foundation hoping that they will favorably influence your opinion toward them, as a presidential candidate, or eventually as president if you’re elected.”

Clinton sidestepped the question.

The Clinton campaign did not reply to an email request for comment from TheDCNF on its relationship with Persian Gulf leaders.

German Gov’t to Employ 100,000 Immigrants for One Euro an Hour

In Germany, the latest scheme by the government of Prime Minister Angela Merkel to deal with Europe’s migrant crisis envisions hiring of up to 100 thousand asylum-seekers in a new state program for the employment of immigrants.

In the midst of the immigration crisis, Berlin has announced the deployment of a controversial program known as “one-euro jobs.”

Though the plan is to employ the workers at less than subsistence wages, Germany’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Andrea Nahles is speaking of the new plan as a “springboard” for migrants to enter the labor market.

The program was forged as a means of dealing with the “forced inactivity” of tens of thousands of migrants living in refugee centers with nothing to do, waiting for documents that sometimes takes months and sometimes never arrive at all.

Now, for no more than twenty hours a week, illegal migrants can work at a nominal salary, which advocates say will allow them to scrape together a few euro more while providing a needed service for the community. Analysts say that the immigrants will amass a mere 84 euro per month, which more or less corresponds to the personal expenses of asylum seekers.

The unskilled labor being offered to the migrants includes serving food, repairing beds and watering plants as “mini jobs” that refugees can undertake in exchange for wages of a euro an hour.

Ladle and spatula in hand, Zaid, a 23-year-old Iraqi immigrant, lifts the cover off a pan filled with goulash and potato croquettes. As he spoons out serving-size portions, he tries to explain to other migrants the recipe for this “very German” dish, seasoned with oil and beef broth.

From 6:30-8:30pm, Zaid is employed by the city of Berlin to distribute dinners to another 152 Syrian, Iraqi, Afghan and Moldovan refugees, who reside in a Berlin gym that has been transformed into a temporary shelter.

“In the short term, this is a judicious measure since otherwise the refugees would have no chance to work,” said Ronald Bachmann, an economist at the RWI institute based in Essen. While their requests are being processed, asylum-seekers have no right to work legally.

“Seeing refugees working also sends a political signal,” said Bachmann, referring to the rampant criticism of migrants living at the expense of the German State.

The new plan is not without its critics, with human rights groups comparing the scheme to sweatshops whose products are regularly boycotted by first-world nations.

Conservatives have also been quick to criticize the plan, such as Stefan von Borstel of Germany’s Die Welt newspaper, who claims that the plan is a ruse by the government to improve employment statistics.

In the meantime, the experiment is already active in many German cities in Germany. In Bavaria, 9,000 migrants are already at work, while in Berlin there are some 4,000 asylum-seekers employed in this type of job. In the city of Hannover, immigrants can work repairing bicycles, sorting clothes or accompanying children to the nursery, in exchange for German classes.

680  Other / Politics & Society / There IS life after DEATH: Scientists reveal shock findings on: May 17, 2016, 02:13:16 PM

LIFE after death has been "confirmed" by scientists who have discovered consciousness continues even once a person has died.

In a large scale study of more than 2,000 people, British boffins confirmed that thoughts DO carry on after the heart stops.

The shock research has also uncovered the most convincing evidence of an out of body experience for a patient declared dead.

It had been believed the brain stopped all activity 30 seconds after the heart had stopped pumping blood around the body, and that with that, awareness ceases too.

However, the study from the University of Southampton shows people still experience awareness for up to three minutes after they had been pronounced dead.

Lead researcher Dr Sam Parnia said: "Contrary to perception, death is not a specific moment but a potentially reversible process that occurs after any severe illness or accident causes the heart, lungs and brain to cease functioning.

"If attempts are made to reverse this process, it is referred to as 'cardiac arrest'; however, if these attempts do not succeed it is called ‘death’."

Of the 2,060 patients from Austria, the US and the UK interviewed for the study who had survived cardiac arrest, almost 40 per cent said that they recall some form of awareness after being pronounced clinically dead.

Dr Parnia continued: "This suggests more people may have mental activity initially but then lose their memories after recovery, either due to the effects of brain injury or sedative drugs on memory recall.”

Of those who said they had experienced some awareness, just two per cent said their experience was consistent with the feeling of an outer body experience – where one feels completely aware and can hear and see what’s going on around them after death.

Almost half of the respondents said the experience was not of awareness, but rather of fear.

However, the most significant finding of the study is that of a 57-year old man who is perhaps the first confirmed outer body experience in a patient.

The man was able to recall with eerie accuracy what was going on around him after he had ‘died’ temporarily.

Dr Parnia continued: "This is significant, since it has often been assumed that experiences in relation to death are likely hallucinations or illusions occurring either before the heart stops or after the heart has been successfully restarted, but not an experience corresponding with 'real' events when the heart isn't beating.

"In this case, consciousness and awareness appeared to occur during a three-minute period when there was no heartbeat.

“This is paradoxical, since the brain typically ceases functioning within 20-30 seconds of the heart stopping and doesn't resume again until the heart has been restarted.

“Furthermore, the detailed recollections of visual awareness in this case were consistent with verified events."
