1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Say. If somebody built another small miner... on: March 14, 2021, 10:42:51 PM
I personally would love one. Getting back into crypto after a long hiatus, would love to set up a mini plug&play rig that can hold it's own against the mass of ASICs nowadays. Still have a have a block eruptor in a desk somewhere, have fond memories of that lil guy Smiley

What's the drive space on these? Is it 15GB, 30GB, or unlimited?
3  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitSler Ultimate Script To Double or Triple The Money on: April 29, 2018, 06:05:39 PM
Yeah this is a scam, it will send your coins to `1DVPbVnAyXzoTgUGotubFL7yqM2BDQh99v` or `1HD2x5dH6SrMnvFRrWsTZ6ZSwtafeNRL26`. Beware!

6  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN @ $20,000 A PIECE BEFORE 2017 ENDS? on: December 16, 2017, 10:14:32 PM
We've made it this far, I wouldn't be surprised. I read that exchanges are getting thousands of new users a day, and the price is almost $19000 in some places.
7  Other / Meta / Re: TX accelerators are spamming or? on: December 16, 2017, 07:24:02 PM
Yeah, it can be annoying, but I think that as long as they are limited to one thread per service then they aren't breaking any rules.

Nah, often times the reason people join is to ask a question. If they are blocked from asking their question the moment they join it will be much more difficult to integrate them into the community
10  Other / Meta / Re: MULTIPLE ACCOUNT on: November 15, 2017, 09:56:04 PM
It is allowed, but one of their main uses (Signature Campaigns) ban them.

It is not just moderators but any trusted member of the community (DT1 or DT2) that can give negative trust which will make the account wortless.

What does DT1 and DT2 mean?

They are the two levels of Default Trust. EX: DefaultTrust is DT0, people trusted by DT0 are DT1, and people trusted by DT1 are DT2, etc.
11  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE Campaign Signature Included]Harlot's Signature Campaign Management Service on: November 11, 2017, 07:47:30 PM
Always good to have a new enthusiastic manager, but if I may offer a bit of advice, try redesigning your banners. The yellow highlight on a red background is kind of off-putting, and if you are designing the signatures as well you may scare off a few interested parties. Best of luck!
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Question about Tor and full node on: November 11, 2017, 12:30:48 AM
Your node connects via Tor *and* your regular IP by default IIRC. To run it only through tor, try using the commandline `-proxy` argument
13  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Account Shop - Netflix, CBS, Hulu, DirectTV, many more! on: October 22, 2017, 01:28:01 AM
Hi E5! Quick question about your stuff, what level of access does the DirectTV Now account grant? Is it the purple / 'Gotta have it' level? (see here: http://cdn.directv.com/content/dam/dtv/gmott/html/compare-packages-account.html). If I were to get multiple accounts from you (either vouch Wink or regularly) could I get a 'bundle discount'? For like 5? Do I get to choose the email / password the accounts go to? How long do accounts usually last for? Thanks!
14  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Spotify Premium Upgrade [$6] | Your Own Email & PW | Lifetime Warranty | on: October 22, 2017, 01:04:04 AM
Would I need to give you my login in order to get premium, or is it something you would tell me how to do myself? Or neither?
15  Economy / Services / Re: BitMixCoin Signature & Avatar Campaign on: September 23, 2017, 07:48:00 PM
Are the stats on the front amount full or empty? It says [0/4] Hero Members. Does that mean 0 spots are filled, or 0 spots are left?
16  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked and email changed on: August 28, 2017, 02:53:35 AM
Did the old account have an address you can sign a message from? That is generally how theymos handles account recoveries.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block Size of 1,068 KB. Can someone explain this? on: August 27, 2017, 06:51:24 PM
There is no longer a hard limit on actual block size, it is now calculated on the contents of the transactions to be close to 1MB. I saw the algorithm on here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it again. But yes, it has to do with the activation of SegWit.
18  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Post your SegWit questions here - open discussion - big week for Bitcoin! on: August 26, 2017, 05:45:03 PM
I am running a BIP148 node with segwit from LukeJr's PPA I believe, should I switch back to using core now?
19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it possible to generate address using defined text? on: August 26, 2017, 05:43:08 PM
No the private address or private key and the public key are derived using a mathematical formula. There are Services out there that attempt to give you a vanity address, but all they have done is generating a mass number of keys and parse the list that they've come up with for some common words names things like that.
The private key is Created from the public key using math that same public cable always produce that same private key and vice versa.

If the private key is made from the public key, what's stopping me from taking your bitcoin address (public key), calculating the private key, and taking your coins?

It is only a one way calculation. The Private Key can get the public key, but not vice-versa.
20  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockstream's Bitcoin Satelite WWW w/ OuterNet USB Reciever. on: August 26, 2017, 05:31:52 PM
I have that same dongle, and I got it for ~$20 I think. It's on amazon, and comes with two antennas, some adapters, and the dongle itself. That website is also really helpful for setting up different things with it. I tried and got some AM Radio, the National Weather Service, police radios, and a few other things. It's a neat trinket: http://a.co/dFsVWBz
