I love the OP's implying that whatever web scraper he wrote is some kind of amazing quantum AI that is so CPU-heavy he had to turn off all his mining programs while it rans for weeks doing the kinds of pattern recognition you usually see on TV shows like 24 or Person of Interest.

Hehe, not really. I stopped mining coz of The End Is Near. The bot is just a java application. It works on GPUs via http://www.jcuda.org/, it's not rocket science. I hope u satisfied.

Wait.. You actually made a bit? I thought it just  meant you and your sites users did some deep digging. Nice job!  Cheesy

I have a better one: How many times you stop thinking about bitcoins?

Once, for about 9 hours. When I am sleeping. Wink

Can you plz put in Bulgaria?

I'm also finding the groupings a bit weird.  Maybe if you're going to do "Europe" as a group you could also add in general groups for Asia, Oceania, South America, etc.  It's a bit odd to name two Asian countries but not name a couple of European countries.

I changed it to 'other European countries' and added some popular european countries.

I'm pretty sure this person must be American to make such a stupid poll.

Yes, I am American. I am not stupid. Why is asking about the demographics of bitcoin so stupid? I am sure you were curious at least once about this. No need to post things like this.
745  Economy / Service Discussion / Does this site Exist? If not [REQ] for a site. on: May 11, 2013, 05:16:41 PM
I cut off the title because, I don't like long titles.

There are many things that I want to put in my signature, but because of the three line rule, I cannot add as much as I would like.  This is why I am asking if there is a website that allows you to do the following.

You will be able to add custom fields as needed, and have your own short links (like example.com/heroc).  The fields built in (like BTC, LTC, NMC, etc) would have a button that shows the QR code and the balance of the address.  It would be very customizable, like being able to add your own logo and background, color, etc. I made a quick sketch of it in image 1.  The BM is a custom field, so there is no button.  When you press the button, image 2 pops up next to it.

The backed would be similar the WordPress layout.

Note, I am not creating this site, nor are paying anyone to do it.  I am just putting the idea out there, and if anyone knows a site, let me know.  If you want to develop this, be by guest! (I would be very happy if you gave me credit for the idea, and part of the profit you make.) I can do and or help with the administration work if you want!

HeroC,

Why not instead have a list based on the top 10 of bitcoin-qt download countries on sourceforge , plus "others"?

Can't seem to find that.  I thought that was just for the project managers.  Ill take a look around, thanks for the feedback!
747  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner [Post if interested] on: May 11, 2013, 01:11:40 PM
As long as price wasn't over $35 with the ASIC I would be interested.

Any projections on the MHash/s? Or hopefully GHash/s?
748  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much do you have invested in bitcoins? on: May 11, 2013, 01:04:07 PM
Granted, I haven't been watching prices long, but it SEEMS that Bitcoins aren't any riskier than normal stock. Maybe they'll go back up to $20 each, maybe they'll drop down to $0.01 per BTC, but regular stock carries the same sort of risk.

Be nice if it was more stable, true, but I don't think it's much riskier than any other sort of investment. Just keep your computer safe from being hacked.

Smiley  Look @ what the price is now.  I WISH that it was $20
749  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are online wallets safe? on: May 11, 2013, 01:02:44 PM
I was thinking along the lines of when Coffeebucks starts to take bitcoin. If I don't have an online wallet is there a way to link the wallet from my PC to my phone to pay for such things?

Yes, there is a bitcoin android app, and you can import your addresses key from the client.

On Bitcoin-QT enter dumpprivkey in the console.  (DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH ANYONE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SPEND YOUR CONS IF YOU DO!)

Then, go into the bitcoin app and follow the instructions to import the key there.  Good Luck!

Wait.. I went off on a tangent.  http://blockchain.info and the corresponding android app are very secure online wallets.

I proposed on #bitcoin-dev:

<wumpus> someone should create an random altcoin generator
<wumpus> generate a random name, random network rules, and post a topic to bitcointalk
<wumpus> oh and premine of course

Just have to say that this made me laugh.  Grin

752  Other / Off-topic / Re: What country are you from? on: May 11, 2013, 02:29:28 AM
Europe counts as a country now?

The Europe area, there are a lot of small countries, so I just put it into one.

The choice of Nigeria also seems odd.

I was reading an article about them hacking so I figured whatever and put it in there. If it gets no votes I'll replace it with something later.
753  Economy / Services / Re: Free bitcoins: Advertise these links in your sig! on: May 11, 2013, 02:25:09 AM
Can I put the coin chat one on my third line? Or does it need to be the second? Will I still get paid if I put it where the blue text is?
754  Other / Off-topic / What country are you from? on: May 11, 2013, 02:03:12 AM
Title says it all. What country are you from? No special reason, just curious. If you have a request, reply below.
755  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Armory Bugs: 0.2 BTC each on: May 10, 2013, 08:40:37 PM
88.1-beta is my version.

If armory is running in the background, when the blockchain scan finishes armory crashes.  Sometimes it gives an error like this:

Once I get the error, I will post the screenshot here

By the way, I'm temporarily disabling this.  The last thing I need right now is to go hunting small bugs while I have a usability "crisis" to deal with.  I'll re-enable this bounty later.

Are you running the 64-bit version?  If not, get the latest 64-bit version from the downloads page.  A lot of these crashing issues were actually due to the 32-bit build (and resource usage).  All that is being fixed soon.

Oh, OK thanks.

I will check if I am running a 64bit version. Thanks for the help, and I hope you solve the usability 'crisis'!

758  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What is the best client? on: May 10, 2013, 07:50:49 PM
I tried all the others and didnt like them so much, it is a good thing to learn the ins and outs of the various clients, you'll learn more about bitcoin in the process, but my one warning is; stick to recommended clients from this sub! as bitcoin grows, the malware and bogus downloads, including lookalike download sites, are growing too. stray too far and you could be very sorry.

This is some great advice.

I agree.  Thanks!
759  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Request Scammer Tag to PoolMan on: May 10, 2013, 07:42:13 PM
If the accused fulfilled the deal, better change the subject and all the content to something like "delete this".

His account got hacked by Poolman His new account is SunCoin.

1+ on the scammer tag for Poolman, never buy from a 10poster.
