Just to inform the community, this is a reliable node iP to load updated blockchain on your BTE Bytecoin client:
72.230.168.189
just add this line in you your bytecoin.conf file (located at %appdata%\Bytecoin\ )
addnode=72.230.168.189
save the bytecoin.conf file and reload the BTE client; and you will see the client to load (otherwise, will not work at all).
An interesting development. Does the "updated blockchain" have anything to do with the proposal by ahmed_bodi and his confederates to fork the blockchain and add Bytecoin as a merged-mined coin to bitparking.com?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292381Recent increases on the BTE blockchain suggest that someone may have pointed an ASIC at the coin again:
1) Until 9-14 block production had been averaging around 3-4 blocks a day. The difficulty had been pegged at 35k for months since a similar attack started on 5-6.
2) Starting with block 18839 on 9-14, block production started rising eventually reaching several hundred blocks a day.
3) Starting at block 20160 on 9-29, difficulty sudden dropped to 8.9k and block production continued apace.
4) Today at block 22176, difficulity suddenly went back to 35k.
I suspect some kind of manipulation with the blockchain, but can't verify. Anyone have an idea what's going on? Above data can be verified at:
bte.cryptocoinexplorer.comPS: After the flurry of recent traffic started, I've had no trouble keeping 8 connections in my client with no "addnodes" in the conf file.
tghere wasnt any manipulation both mine and dsyncs pool accounted for 1.5th of the nethash which resulted in the above results we. there was like 20 of us in IRC counting down till the diff change
