Ummmm WTF ? Why so many hits instead of just the usual 2 from the built-in bitcoin miner if this is just a direct clone of Litecoin....

I rented a VPS linux ubuntu 14.04-64bit how to compile source codes?

I want to make a pool for all of you.

This would be great, thanks dude  Cheesy

Try to install Webmin on you server and CSF
With webmin you can easily setup the cronjobs needed for MPOS and CSF is a great firewall with a module for webmin.

Web min installation guide for Debian & Ubuntu
http://www.webmin.com/deb.html

CSF Script install (Needs to be done as root!)
http://download.configserver.com/csf/install.txt

I don't understand why people keep using MPOS unless the coin doesn't support batch RPC calls (JSON2.0), its rubbish.

Use NOMP (instructions debian 8.4 x64):
apt-get install -y redis-server curl git screen
/etc/init.d/redis-server start
curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_0.10 | bash -
apt-get install nodejs
git clone https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal.git nomp
setup config.json
setup pool_config/coin.json (use litecoin_example.json)
setup coins/coin.json (check examples)
screen nodejs init.js

On a lighter note, anyone want one full 9000Coin?  Roll Eyes

I'd love to have one haha, my CPU stopped giving me the rewards.
and you said rubbish, british detected  Grin

all good guys, was more a joke.. not going to spoil anyone learning/having fun  Cheesy

Oh haha. so no ASICs are incoming.. yet. I really wonder if this coin might hold any value somewhen.

It might but I think I may wait and see if I can buy some for cheap before trying to mine and burning my cpu.

I hope it catches some value when time passes. for the time being my wallet stopped syncing  Embarrassed

Mining can get, quite boring Cheesy

Oh. and yeah, mining can indeed get very boring. they need to optimize the NeoScrypt algo so we can get some performance improvements.

The craptsy insider noobs behind this and many other "new algo" coins already have the perfectly optimized kernel.

Yeah you're probably right. I wonder how much better it is  Huh

What are the typical hashrates for this algo? I am getting ~1.3MH/s using two Fury X cards. is it normal?

More or less. Little difference between Nano and Fury X so far. Need to get either one to optimise the miner, but it isn't on my top priority list currently.

I am seriously thinking this coin could be huge. I have seen many altcoins but this one seems promising, it runs for a long time and still has active staff (are the devs still active?)
Maybe optimizing the miner is a good idea? it could bring some new power to the network and make the coin more popular. maybe a little guide on how to mine the coin for newbies.

I am trying for some time now and I still cannot seem to understand how to optimize the miner for the best hashrate. I am getting 1.2-1.6MH/s using two Fury X cards clocked at 1.1GHz. the hashrate varies a lot and I don't really know why. I stopped changing the configuration.

That's nothing, I been trying to think up the most over the top ASIC mining hardware resistant combination of policies Grin

I have about 7 of them now Cheesy

Hoping to reach 20, by the end of 2016 Smiley

What do you mean? you are the developer of neoscrypt? I thought it was ghostlander

This is a joke right?

from the OP  ---   "It is basically just an experiment"

Have some fun man, atleast its not a coin promising a buncha shit ;p

Cant spend money mining it. I don't have money to burn but good luck with the experiment.

We are just CPU mining this coin until someone with real power comes and ruins the party, come over!

I didnt know. I will set it up before bed and see where I am in the morning but 0.1 blocks are so small its going to be funny to see the rewards coming in.
Cheesy

No worries, you better hurry up before someone starts GPU mining!

cool. might throw my 7.5mh zeus and 8x 5.4mh gridseed blades at it once i'm home.

RIP my CPU. it was nice trying this atleast  Tongue

new coin again Cheesy

haha everyday!! ;p

im gonna mine "1" whole coin then wait and see where it goes ;p
i like my laptop (ROG) and feel CPU mining so hard on the poor thing ;;p

You started a battle with the envy 6700K of mine! I will be the first owner of a full coin.

i  bet you will tht 6700K will slay my processor, plus im only using 3 threads haha i baby this thing ;p
6700HQ in mine tho Wink
im at 0.1ish  Wink

Maybe I will start mining with my 6600K also because I am no longer getting that many blocks  Shocked

0.01 coins per block? I would have gotten my hands on ONE full coin so I could say I am rich. but I don't know how to mine without a pool.

hi.  in order to "mine without a pool" please do the following

in your wallet open the "debug window" under "help" tab
in that window under "console" area, type "setgenerate true <number of cores u wanna mine with>
press enter.  if your cpu usage goes up, it's working Wink
check mining status by typing in same area as before "getmininginfo"
it will be the # beside "hashespersec"

hope this helps! Grin

Really does help, thanks dude. I am mining with my 6700K with all 8 threads now. if I solve the block I will get 0.01 coins? how do I stop the mining?
And isn't scrypt more suitable for GPU and ASIC mining?

i think this not need any exchange ( self-sell)

How are we supposed to know the real value of the coin without an exchange? we need an exchange so we can sell 0.01 coins for fortunes!

1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / NSGMiner Fury X settings on: July 13, 2016, 10:59:39 PM
Hi,

(I'm not sure if this is allowed, or if it's the right place)

I am currently mining Feathercoin with NSGMiner using two Fury X cards. I am just using some random settings to run the miner and I am getting ~1.3MH/s from them combined, which seems pretty low for such powerful cards.

I know neoscrypt hashrates are usually on the low side but 1.3MH/s seems low. am I doing it wrong? I am using the default settings provided in the NSGminer thread.

Thanks in advance!
