221  Economy / Services / Re: Logo for a sandwich shop competition - £30 in BTC Prize on: January 17, 2014, 04:11:02 PM

No offense but too sloppy. Doesnt look delicious at all :/

Yeah, not sure about the ones with the baguettes as the J.

The 2nd one down on the left is alright. He definitely wants orange to be the main colour so maybe orange text or an orange background with a different colour text.

Thanks for everything so far, keep them coming. Smiley

Hi

A friend of mine is opening a sandwich shop and wants to get a few people's ideas for a logo.

The name of the Shop will be Jimbob's Baguettes.

The main colour of the logo should be Orange/Burnt Orange.

If you want to have a go at designing a logo for it go for it. Their will be a £30 prize for the best entry, payable in BTC.

Any questions please post below

Definitely paying out right? No "didn't like any of the entries" wiggle room? Wink

Yeah, he will payout. Like i said it might get extended a little but it won't go on forever. Smiley

This one, hands down. it is just gorgeous. good work.

It's nice but maybe it needs to be a little more bright &  eye-catching. I didn't actually realise they were baguettes until it was mentioned (It's pretty obvious now Smiley )
224  Economy / Services / Re: Logo for a sandwich shop competition - £30 in BTC Prize on: January 16, 2014, 09:59:07 PM
Is it a baguettes/eclairs with tea sort of place, or pickup a baguette on the platform sort?
Would he prefer a long and thin one top of the shop window or a squarish one in the middle?
Thanks

It's going to be a drop in freshly made baguette shop.

There will be some sofas and tables though.

*THERE will be....

Damn. Smiley one of my pet hates. Lol

Is there a time-limit for this offer?

Should we PM you with entries?

Trying to get it sorted by Monday if possible. It could run over though I suppose.  Feel free to PM if you want. I would want to post the winner in here though

I like the brightness of this. Maybe needs to be more striking.  I will ask him what he thinks of a picture if a sandwich on the logo when I see him in half an hour.

227  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 100BTC Casascius bar S1 Hologram error--- 500BTC bar 1 of 2 ever made by Mike C. on: January 14, 2014, 04:01:07 PM

The 500BTC bar has been redeemed.

who in their right minds would pay $1m for an empty bar?

Kinda like saying who would pay for rare art is only paint and canvas.  There is only one other 500BTC bar out there besides this one.  Cool
Your prices are laughable.
A redeemed Casascius bar is not "rare art".

By the numbers most people would consider this rare.  1 of 2.  While I find the price high I can not argue with the rareness.
Rareness alone does not determine that value of a collectible.  That is only one element.  For example, The 10 bitcoin Casascius silver rounds... The gold plated ones are more rare than the all-silver ones, but are fetching less money (by what I've been hearing).

I don't know how to say this without sounding like a dick, but the price of this item is 100% based on what my client wants for it Smiley seeing that he is the only one in the whole world with this item!  There is only one 500BTC redeemed gold bar.  If it doesn't sell I imagine he is totally happy keeping it in the secure locations that it is in and passing it as a family treasure.

Which is what will happen as no-one is going to pay 1100BTC for it. Nice thing to own though, hope he/she enjoys it Smiley

230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Park Bitcoin episode revisited. on: January 14, 2014, 11:08:46 AM
Now that alt coins are on the rage, I envision a South Park episode where everybody in the entire town starts their own alt coin, each trying to get their creation to go mainstream.

Of course, they're all traded on the Fat Ass Exchange (FAE, for short), each with a different hashing mechanism, i.e. script, to prevent an Area 51 attack.

I thought about a bitcoin SP episode a couple of weeks back. They are so on point when it comes to current affairs that I am positive this is already in the making.

I'd say it's definitely worth waiting to get it right the first time.  Wouldn't want someone else getting my BTC when people scan my QR code. Wink

+1

Not as rare but still a decent price. Based on this (remember this was auctioned for charity so would make a higher price), i would say the 500 redeemed is maybe worth 10k. 1100BTC (or anything close to it), is insane

Looks like you must have missed it when I linked to it. Wink

Rofl my bad! Same goes to you Wink

Thank you very much.  I am totally stoked to have a opportunity to broker a couple of these coins.

Trying to work out how best to deliver the coin and honestly I'm kind of drawing a bit of a blank.  Is there any members that are very trusted who would be interested in insuring the value of the BTC bar during transportation?  This can totally be through JohnK.

Here is what I am worried about:

If buyer A escrows the money with escrow agent B and seller C issues the bar to myself.  I get on my Delta flight and the fucking plane crashes with the bar and I on it.  I am worried about how the escrow agent would handle this....  I am going to call Lloyds of London (www.lloyds.com) as soon as I can, but I figured I would ask here first. I'm sure there are a million different bull shit regulations that has to do with this and I am not interested in reading it Smiley

Thanks guys Smiley

Edit:
Best thought I have had is to get a life insurance plan naming the seller the beneficiary... but I really would rather pay someone some BTC on a successful trip rather than fucking get poked with a needle! (But I will if need be I guess)

I would suggest that if someone is going to pay that much money they would probably come to you. I would anyway

236  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SELL] Selling 10BTC Silver Casascius coin, VERY RARE on: January 11, 2014, 11:43:58 PM
The coin is still for sale.
When you say "very rare"...?
How many non- gold plated silver 10 btc coins were made?
How many gold plated silver btc coins were made?

There are (I guess, source: http://casascius.uberbills.com/), a total of 441 ten BTC silver coins active. I guess that about 300 of them are these full silver ones. The thing that makes this non- gold plated coin more rare (thought there propably was more of these made than the gold plated ones,) that people don't sell these. By checking e-bay, I couldn't find a single one of this type of coin to be for sale. But I saw gold plateds...

I would be interested to see if anyone actually does know exact figures. I was under the impression it was roughly 50/50
237  Economy / Service Discussion / BTC-E LTC Withdrawal on: January 11, 2014, 08:22:02 PM
Has anyone had any issues withdrawing from BTC-E? I initiated a withdrawal this morning and have still had nothing show up in the destination address.

Is this normal for BTC-E?
