BTW the PCB now has 8 DC/DC modules to meet the 300W+ requirements if necessary, but their design (see image) seemed to have only 4, so 40AMPS @ 0.9V * 4 = 144W, maybe they added the extra modules to have more room, but we may have good news on the power draw area  |

So WTF does a shinny office have to do with all the delays at the fab/engineering problems/shit that may happen a very willing/honest company may face when manufacturing something like this? You are offering this "elaborate" mining protection program, which offers questionable protection since it's also based on your yet-to-be-real chips, yet you are refusing real miner/buyer protection and only accepting BTC payments, yeah right... I get this is a free market and that you're probably a willing/motivated group of people, but you're offloading all the risk on your investomers and you should be honest about that. |

Dicen que harán tapeout en agosto de este nuevo chip y servirán en noviembre, de su anterior chip supuestamente hacían tapeout en septiembre de 2012 y casi un año después siguen atragantados con la mayoría de su backlog y van a servir unos bonitos pisapapeles a sus clientes al ritmo que va la dificultad.
Encima ya no aceptan paypal ni tarjetas de crédito (para protegerse el culo de los refunds) y con esta cortina de humo consiguen que algunos de sus pobres clientes transfieran sus órdenes (les saquen aún más dinero) y se tiren unos cuantos meses más persiguiendo una quimera...

Efectivamente la minería no se está autodestruyendo, simplemente se está profesionalizando como cualquier industria. Por tanto continuará siendo rentable para entidades que tengan su propio diseño de chip y los costos NRE amortizados y simplemente puedan seguir encargando más obleas de chips como rosquillas y poniéndolas a minar en el datacenter más eficiente posible. Obviamente los amateurs que tienen que pagar un pastón por minero a un fabricante más luego la electricidad a precio de consumidor están condenados a desaparecer o simplemente olvidarse de minar ellos y comprar acciones de iniciativas profesionales de mayor escala.

No sé si estás al tanto, pero pedir un jupiter ahora tan tarde significa que te lo servirán a finales de octubre, teniendo en cuenta que ellos mismos han anunciado que van a reducir el precio en cerca de un 30% mínimo en Noviembre no sé si tiene mucho sentido.
Te cito el texto de su última newsletter donde especifican que efectivamente van a reducir el precio significativamente en noviembre:

That information is no more troubling than the fact that BFL has taken much longer than promised to deliver their orders. Yifu is not answering his phone or replying to emails. Everyone is trying to contact him. Apparently, he doesn't like to answer his phone when people are calling to complain. Many people who have been in past orders with Avalon have said that when he doesn't answer his phone, Avalon is about to ship products. We'll see if that holds true. Avalon has finally started shipping Batch 3 pre-orders the past couple of weeks. It looks like they are holding off of sending the bulk chips to catch up on their batch 3 miners. This isn't us getting scammed yet. It's just Avalon's bad customer service and unreliable order fulfillment procedures. At least Avalon is only 2 months behind and not 12 months+ behind. Everyone is looking for a reason to freak out. Take some xanax and relax. Avalon hasn't bought an island and fled the country or anything. Yifu and Avalon are trying to get into more public offerings. They wouldn't flee with everyone's money.

Sigo teniendo los chips disponibles y escuchando ofertas. No sé qué entiendes por precio amigable ¿venderlos a pérdidas? los chips me costaron 18BTC el 29 de abril cuando el BTC estaba a 115€, así que más de 2000€ que a cotización de hoy serían unos 26BTC, ése es por tanto el precio mínimo al que podría venderlos. Me parece perfecto todo lo que comentas he tenido ofertas particulares por grupos de chips, pero a mi me los van a enviar en bloque por tanto sería mejor tenerlos colocados y enviarlos a un mismo sitio (nekonos?) para que estuvieran hasheando cuanto antes, en vez de tener yo que redistribuirlos. En cualquier caso si alguien quiere pasarme oferta por el lote como digo sigo escuchando ofertas. 30BTC da a 0,13636364 BTC por chip. ¿Que tal si los vendes en un numero amigable para todos y organizamos una pequeña compra en grupo? Podríamos involucrar a los que llegaron tarde a la segunda compra en grupo .
Incluso podríamos organizar una cooperativa para alojar con Nekonos la maquina resultante. De modo que incluso para quien no pueda permitirse pagar los 16 chips de un klondike pueda participar en el mineo de bitcoin incluso con el pago de un solo chip (y su cuota en € correspondiente al pago del minero).
Hacerlo sería interesante para activar el foro que últimamente ha estado apagado.
