Umm your point being? I use PG rants as a gauge, sure he is tedious but if there is something amiss he'll find it, and this last post is kind of mild/irrelevant... It seems he's running low on ammo. Once again, here's the mentality of the key principal who created the queue mess and knows exactly what's what when it comes to VAT.

Joe qué buena noticia, voy a ir a pillarme uno fijo, aunque sólo sea por el gusto de pagar en bitcoins.

You can check under "my account" if you're in the 1-500 group, if you don't see it there then unfortunately you aren't. With some luck i was in the "1-500 customers" group

I made a mistake while ordering and I was worried that if I cancelled my order and placed a new one I will lose some sort of place in the queue (even though I had a 2xx preorder so among the 1-500 group) I emailed Sam asking this, and he confirmed that preorder queue will be respected, also it took them more than 24h to send the bank info for my wire transfer: As for your queue position that is based on your preregistration number so its safe and won't change Thanks SamCan somebody explain to me why I bothered placing an order on April 24 of this year (order # 1741)? Will my initial order queue be honored/reserved or does KNC not give a crap about it anymore? I'm pretty confused to what is currently going on. To my understanding, everyone is getting into a frenzy trying to be the first 500 pre-orders.. but what about the ones who placed it waaay back earlier when KNC assured they will not request nor accept any money for pre-orders UNTIL* they have a product ready to ship.
I have yet seen any ASIC prototypes. Are we getting ahead of ourselves here?
Dude I think if you were to order around now, you'd probably end up with a better queue position then before. That's not me influencing you to order, just prob the first 500 are tied up, I doubt 1700+ are yet!! Then what's the point of ordering a few months ago? Was it just for kicks? What I don't understand if why are there TWO (2) queue systems going on now. If anything, shouldn't KNC be emailing previous reservers/queuers and ask if they wanna' pay? I have. They won't tell me what place in the queue I am until I've paid. I pre-ordered way early too. Disappointed.

The VAT number cheks out in Sweeden: https://snr4.bolagsverket.se/snrgateTry searching this on the left chosing "Foretang" from the dropdown: 5569319725 (the number minus the ISO code and the last two digits, as shown in my invoice under "organization number") I'm guessing they are waiting for their government to include their EU VAT number in the databases. Here in Spain I have requested a EU VAT number for my company and although I know what the number will be it isn't active still. I seriously doubt that they would have an open day, produce a fpga miner and work with a reputable developer (orsoc) just to scam someone with a fake vat number. Prob just a relatively new vat number and not in any system yet.
FAQ Q4 : How up-to-date is the data? The data is real-time. Each time you make a request, a message is sent to the Member State which issued the VAT identification number asking if the number quoted is valid.

Yes, and they said that bank wires are OK, but I placed an order yesterday with bank wire as they payment option and I haven't received the bank account details yet. Has someone received the bank account details? if so, can you share it here please?

Damn, the fact that they are encouraging people to pay just BEFORE the open day with their lottery thingy sounds strange to say the least.
Also all this changes at the last minute...

So order books are supposed to open after we have a chance to see the MARS, will that be after the 5th or after monday 10th so that people that go to the open session the 10th will still have 7 days to pay? Also the 7 day window are natural days or business days? a SEPA transfer can take up to 4 days if a weekend is in between so that means only 48h to pay when order books open to ensure my money arrives in time. Thanks Hi All
OK so we are ready for the open day. I know you have all been waiting but we wanted to make sure everything was 100% ready and today I can confirm it is.
Because we have had so much interest we are actually going to do 4 sessions. Two on Wednesday 5th, one at 10:00am and one at 2:00pm. Then two more on Monday 10th at 10:00am and 2:00pm
They will all be the same in content and you can meet us and ask any questions you like. We will demo the Mars mining rig with all 8 blades hashing away to the public pools.
It will be held at ORSoC's Stockholm office
ORSoC Regeringsgatan 111 111 39 Stockholm, Sweden
We will send this out in a newsletter on Monday to catch the people who wont have a chance to read this post.
Thanks Sam

Any info on the power requirements of the MARS device??
The estimated power requirements for the Saturn and Jupiter are on the website, but they failed to include the info for the MARS.

Each order allows the customer to buy up to 3 machines, this means only up to order #167 are guaranteed to get into the first batch, even if many people don't order more than 1 machine (or at all), how are you supposed to get into the first 500 batch of machines with a #530 order? Hello,
i have to sell 2 order IDs between 530 and 540 for the first 500 KNC miners. PM me. Escrow through "John" is possible.

I think he asks because he should have enough time to implement it before the chips are shipped (if they are shipped in time by AVALON that is)... I'd love to have the possibility to overclock my modules. I think that would be cool, but we also want our boards as soon as possible :p As i am finishing the hardware design a question popped up i'd like some feedback on:
Would you guys like software controlled over/under-volting? I am thinking about providing 1.1/1.2/1.3V core voltage selection.
A per-module setting with automatic overclocking by the host software would require huge changes to the protocol i can't provide in the given time. But a per-cluster setting with manual overclocking would sure be do-able. And as the Firmware is user-upgradeable more enhancements could be delivered later in deployment.
Yes, please! Like in Asicminer Blades. That would be a cool feature.

I also don't get this. I thought buying a MARS device was needed to keep your place in the queue to buy the Jupiter, but if people con buy the Jupiter directly then how will they manage the queue? what will then be the best way to keep my preorder place to buy a Jupiter? buying a Mars first or going straight for the Jupiter? Also I was planning on paying my 3 mars devices now and then 3 Jupiters when they showed working prototypes, does this mean that I'll have to pay for all 6 devices at once if I want to keep my preorder for the Jupiter? This is confusing, I hope they clarify their preorder policy before opening the order books. No, they are opening payments for the FPGA once they've proven the FPGA exists in the openday.
They are opening payments for the ASIC once they've proven the ASIC exists in it's openday.
Also most of the above q's are answered with basic research, but are being frequently asked by those that can't be bothered doing that.
We've just had two pages of the same questions answered and new posts continuing to ask the same questions again.
No. I spoke with Sam last week. You can skip the Mars and pay for the ASICs as soon as they open payments (which was supposed to happen this Monday), and you will maintain your place in the queue.

AM doesn't need to grow more, they just need to scale to keep their 40% of the hashing power constant, who cares if they are not able to make more profit from block rewards, as long as it stays constant it's a very very good profit. Also they don't need to divert money from their profits to pay for new hardware and R&D since they can sell blades to pay for those. While AM can at least stay constant or even increase (as they also sell hardware, don't forget that).
AM already has reached the peak it can safely operate. If AM is at 40% and one or two major miners or pools go offline, we have a 51% situation. This will be mitigated by other miners and pools entering the scene, but AM can not increase its rate. AM can only increase costs. There is no way AM can make more money than they already are. Profitability can only go down. I'm not sure how many more ways I can say that. Hardware sales is a temporary and minor boost at the moment. If you think otherwise, I have a bunch of Pentium IIIs chips you can buy for K each. .b

Exactly, the hash rate will obviously keep increasing at a very fast rate as more players join the game, a project that is not designed to scale will be an always shrinking venture, losing % of the total hashing power everyday. This is where a lot of people get it wrong; there is no direct link between hashrate and earning. There is a direct link between percentage of network and earning, at least for the mining part of the equation. If AM rolls out 500TH and nobody else has rolled out more, then Bitcoin as we know it is dead.
Exactly! So from an investment perspective, 100TH can only DECREASE the % of total hashrate they own, while AM can increase (if they choose so). This means that from the moment 100TH launches it will ALWAYS produce less and less dividends as time passes. While AM can at least stay constant or even increase (as they also sell hardware, don't forget that).
