181  Economy / Economics / Re: You want to get rich, don’t pay taxes, don’t get married, don’t use bank, and... on: January 26, 2021, 11:28:56 PM
Unfortunately wrong marriage is what OP should have including instead of talking as if marriage is entirely bad, wrong marriage can bring so many disaster into one's life, is can close doors to all flourishing blessings, I pray we don't make the wrong choices
Getting a good life partner is always a lucky shot and no one will jump into a disaster willingly  Wink. You can do all these activities but if you want to stay away from giving out hefty taxes you can move away to countries that are tax free and save a lot of money. I was working in the middle east a decade ago and there were no taxes levied and then back home there were no taxes for Non residence.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Driving to the moon? HODLer installs portable mining rig in BMW on: January 26, 2021, 07:38:16 PM
It is surprising to hear a miner, Simon Byrne equipped his BWM i8 hybrid vehicle retailed for roughly $150,000 to be able mine bitcoin, it is also reported to be able to mine ethereum.
I am not surprised Simon had a good publicity stunt with his mining rig. He knew that his actions will attract some headlines, with a battery power how much hardware he is using to mine bitcoin, i bet he wont be getting any reward that will be profitable and ETH just upgraded to POS and there is no way he will be mining them, he might have mined some before and since you posted this today i am just saying  Wink.
183  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of your total assets would you rather invest in bitcoin? on: January 26, 2021, 06:15:16 PM
Regarding the total wealth I have, I have invested 50% in Bitcoin, the rest I have invested in Gold and a few stocks market. Maybe if Bitcoin
manages to hit $ 100k this year according to the target I set, then the profit I get from Bitcoin I will use for investing in real estate.
I would have invested half of my wealth if i knew beforehand that the price of bitcoin would rally like this from the beginning, even though i invested in bitcoin i did not expect a rally like this in a short period of time. I do invest in stock market but only a percentage of my asset and i did all that for the long term. I already invested in real estate a long time ago and hence i am not planning to invest anything further but i was planning to sell one of my property to invest in bitcoin last year but the pandemic messed up my plan.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who controls the bitcoin price? on: January 25, 2021, 06:37:12 PM
well, i been thinking for a while about who actually controls the bitcoin price.
among the following below, which one do you think has the major influence regarding the bitcoin price?
If you have the bank balance even you can control the price of bitcoin. With the price of bitcoin soaring at an all time high valuation you cannot expect anyone to control the market without having billions at your disposal. There are many institutional investors in the market and they can really control the price and can even manipulate the price of bitcoin if they wanted considering the huge amount of coins they are holding.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for a Billion max supply capped altcoin to reach $100? on: January 25, 2021, 05:23:16 PM
Can a altcoin with a billion max supply reach $100 each?

Has any alts in history with a billion or billion+ but no more than a trillion coins reach $100 each?
To assume that an altcoin with billion or trillion of coins in circulation could reach a valuation of $100 is wishful thinking, anyone can create a coin and it is not that hard as it is an open source project and all you need to do is edit some things out but that will not make the coin valuable. There were coins in the past that were created for fun and later became popular.

You can dream about making a huge profit in the cryptocurrency market but there is a limit for wishful thinking  Tongue.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency on: January 24, 2021, 11:00:26 PM
Despite its well known classification as a “cryptocurrency,” Bitcoin cannot be a currency because it has intrinsic value. While some would argue against it, the resources spent to issue new units ensure that, unlike fiat currency, Bitcoins cannot be created out of thin air.
This is really a different observation, you cannot call bitcoin as a currency because it has intrinsic value ?. What about fiat currency, the government keeps the value or promises to keep the value or anyone exchanging them will hold the value and that is the same with bitcoin, anyone exchanging them agreeing upon the valuation.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New ATH, New ATH, New ATH on: January 24, 2021, 10:03:16 PM
Not in next 3 years, next ATH will happen sooner than that. In fact it is just few months away. BTC has attracted institutional attention and now price increase will happen in big slabs.
Like $10k price up within a week.
The institutional investment in bitcoin started a long time ago and it is nothing new, there might be more reports coming out regarding their investment now than ever before and these institutional investors are advertising about their investing to the public through social media as well and for people like me i would think why would they do that, will they advertise when they will book their profit as well Tongue.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in a good shape? on: January 24, 2021, 03:17:37 PM
Covid profoundly influenced on market and individuals quit sitting around idly in stock and placing their assets in bitcoins.
I am not convinced that the common hardworking general population will invest during a pandemic as things were hard and many lost their job and some are not getting their payments on time and with all these difficulties it is hard to sit around and think about investing in a highly volatile currency, but institutional investors and the elite class might have invested in bitcoin.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP Price Dives After SEC Files Charges on: January 24, 2021, 01:42:10 PM
It appears that because of the new SEC appointees of the incoming Biden administration, Ripple might be saved and allowed to settle their case hehehe. Relist and pump?
It is highly unlikely that XRP will get away with the lawsuit even with the change in administration. Janet Yellen did not come out with a positive aspect as she had a negative thought on how cryptocurrency is used by terrorist and she echoed how they are planning to come out with regulations to combat that and the allegations and lawsuit against XRP is not small either.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: January 24, 2021, 12:29:01 PM
I feel sorry about their situation since instead of being lucky they turn out to be the most unlucky person by the time they hit the jackpot since they die without enjoying it.
It is the most brutal way to die, when you have all the money in the world which you are dreaming to make for decades but you cannot do anything about it. I have heard about people winning lotteries but i never looked too deep into their background or what they do with the money and usually these unexpected money could destroy a person but to die before enjoying the perks is a harsh reality.

Anyone taking a big lottery needs to have a full body checkup so that they do not die of heart attack if they win Cheesy.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if "De-Fi" platforms become regulated in the future? on: January 23, 2021, 09:43:30 PM
As long as these platforms continue profitable people will stay there. At this point regulations are not a question of if, but when. They are a security measure firstly due to terrorist activity. Furthermore it guarantees extra safety for investors, as the names, addresses and everything else behind the DeFi platform will be exposed.
I wonder how the regulators will find a solution for this decentralized finance, one thing is sure, the authorities will come hard on them and i do not think this trend will last for a long time. The hype had its time and it depends upon how much transparent things can be in the market. There might be good projects but what i generally see is pump and dump like we used to see when ICO started.
192  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russia would ban miners from receiving rewards in bitcoins and cryptocurrencies on: January 23, 2021, 09:08:30 PM
In Russia, there is such contradictory and stupid legislation on cryptocurrency that one involuntarily asks the question: if there are no fools, then why are they doing it. You can have cryptocurrency, but you can't use it.
Not sure whether you read what is published, it says as a miner you wont be allowed take the incentives, basically killing the mining industry running in Russia and there might be reasons regarding power consumption but i does not say anything banning the use of cryptocurrency.
They can restrict the miners but it is impossible to ban trading.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any ideas on why XRPs price is fluctuating? on: January 23, 2021, 08:24:33 PM
As far as I know one of founders od Ripple left the project long time and he got billions of Ripple which he is selling on daily bases. That guy is also founder of Stellar pretty big name in crypto world. Now is that all true beats me but thats the rumor.
If you are referring to Jed McCaleb, he conceived the project and then he came up with his own project. The lead developers made a huge profit with their centralized coin and so is the reason the SEC is after them and that is the main reason for their price fluctuation.

There was a class action lawsuit filed against them in the past and now the SEC are after them for selling securities and it is difficult to overcome the issues they are facing and with most of the exchanges delisting them, it is better to avoid investing.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else still regret not buying Bitcoin in 2011? on: January 23, 2021, 06:50:47 PM
There is no point in regretting, i still consider myself luck as i was able to enter the market when the price of bitcoin and some of the major alts were in its infant stage and i made a decent profit in the market and i am more than happy with the way things went and there is no point in having regrets. If you are regretting then there are many stocks that i missed during its IPO and turned into millions in a short period.
195  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India plans to introduce law to ban cryptocurrency trading on: January 23, 2021, 05:51:59 PM
but don't lose hope, these politicians are in positions because of the votes, if they know that the Cryptocurrency holders and investors have the number they can do a compromise and give you something back in return, in exchange to your votes.
Looking at the current state of affairs there is no hope, hope the protest from the farmers is known throughout the world and they are protesting in extreme cold climate for over two months and more than 150 people died during these protest and still the government is not heeding to their demands, farmers are essential to any country and majority of the population are farmers and we all know how they are treated and you think a small number of cryptocurrency users will get any justice.

This is not really good for the India economy that should focus on how to generate income from different angle to support the growth of their country. China did that back but now coming into it for new investment and India trying to get the people into limited access to income.
The government care less about anyone let alone generation of new jobs. All they support is the big corporate from Gujarat and so is the reason the government is selling all the public companies to these corporate including railways and airports.

I think so. But I have no idea about the exact details of what's happening in your country and what I'm saying is just based on my opinion and that's entirely different from the exact situation of the investors and the crypto scene in your country.
Hope you have heard about the recent Arnab Gate, everything is clear in those leaked communication and how the news propaganda is helping all the false narrative of the government reminiscent of the Nazi Germany era.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - Buy in or Bail out? on: January 22, 2021, 08:52:19 PM
Speaking as a small owner here and I don't even mind saying I would never buy more now. It's still thankfully close to where I entered which is a lot more than what I could say last year, but I'm not buying anymore now for sure. Will definitely sell for profit, maybe to cover back what I invested, but this is make no mistake, a pure speculative investment for me. All the current events now actually strengthen that claim.
Once the SEC filed a lawsuit all the gains in the market vanished, you could have sold when the market rallied but i guess you were expecting the price to reach a dollar as there were many speculations in the social media about a rally could reach those levels and in the mean time the developers and founders sold millions of dollars worth of coins.

I did invest in XRP in the past but not anymore, i usually use this to gamble because of the leverage you get with a coin with small valuation and not as a store of value expecting a huge profit.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Tether go into crisis like XRP? on: January 22, 2021, 07:10:35 PM
It's not just XRP that is having problems linking the reason the SEC reporting on a source doesn't verify over data.  Tether also goes into issues to interact with the dispute with Bitfinex.
Tether is a controversial coin in the eyes of the authorities way much before XRP came under fire and the cryptocurrency enthusiast especially bitcoin enthusiast were against XRP simply because of its centralized authority and you need to expect Tether coming under fire right now or in the future as they are always shady with the way in which they create coins out of thin air without any transparency especially when the market shows signs of a rally.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin block 666,666 Bible message on: January 22, 2021, 09:48:48 AM
In fact, it's really interesting. I've always been into cryptic things and I believe one of the reasons that intrigued me the most was the fact that satoshi himself intentionally wrote what he wrote in the Genesis block.
Hey, even Genesis comes from the bible.  Smiley
There is a reason for giving it the name Genesis as the book of Genesis explains about the creation of the world and the genesis block is the creation of a new economic revolution and hence it is a fitting name.

The rest there is nothing cryptic about it, there is a significance in Bible for 666 and it has different meaning in different context, in book of revelation it is the number related to the devil but in the book of Ezra it is the number of people that returned to Jerusalem and Judah after being exiled and the same number is used related to King Solomon in the bible. So it is just not about the devil  Grin.

200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Exchanges - Verification Process? on: January 12, 2021, 11:59:14 PM
I'm asking because I've been away for some years and I remember the times when you could open an exchange account in 5 minutes and start trading.

Are those times long gone now with the big guys?
You will find many exchanges for you to start trading in an instant. There will be a limit in the amount of money you can trade or withdraw according to different exchanges and once you cross those limit you will be forced to complete your KYC to continue trading as usual.
