281  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i buy or sell today on: June 27, 2017, 08:12:47 PM
It is very simple really, It all depends on what bitcoin is to you. The markets are very volatile right now and is not for the faint heart.

If bitcoin is an asset for you, then you will do well to hold on. If you are a day trader, what options do you have but to sell? If you like me use it as a currency, then keep using it.

I can do this for you if you are willing to escrow the funds upfront. I hope you are aware though that receiving PayPal funds puts you at a disadvantage, trusted member or not.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the Ethereum Classic future? on: June 27, 2017, 05:47:06 AM
ETC is yet to make a clear case to me for dapp development. Until it has dev teams formally eschewing ETH in favour of ETC I don't see a reason to favour ETC since it has no non speculative draw of fiat.

I'm not saying that ETC can't come into it's own and become an interesting useful network, but this idea that it's going to overtake and replace Ethereum in direct competition is a pipe dream.
284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Bloodbath on: June 26, 2017, 10:57:15 PM
It's been a while since bitcoin had a major price correction. A 15-20% dip is normal, the people selling because of panic or FUD are those that bought at $3000.

This is a good time to buy, $2000 is a dream and elusive, this slump is temporary and the price will rise above the previous high in a week or two.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 26, 2017, 08:51:15 PM
If ever there was proof that tabloids make their gossip up, it's the never ending, mythical player swap deals that get annually touted. They never happen, almost ever. And yet these shitrags continue to peddle this bollocks with no sense of self awareness at all.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: On this week Ethereum down almost 30% on: June 26, 2017, 07:40:50 PM
Earlier this week, GDAX, the digital currency exchange run by Coinbase, experienced a flash crash in its USD – Ethereum market. While the price recovered quickly, the rapid price movement caused many traders to experience margin calls or stop loss orders, resulting in potentially severe losses. So now investors lost trust and now cashing their ETH because they don't want to lose their investment and don't want to be trap as well.

They are saying they will reimburse the dollar value of the ETH customers had before the drop. Any idea what the price was before the crash?
Some have suggested anything from $320 down to $230
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 25, 2017, 07:46:46 PM
India scored pretty well in this match. 310 is a remarkable score against the lower ranked team West Indies. Their batting is good and Indian bowlers have to work hard to restrict them and win this match. Interesting match it is as even rain can affect the outcome of this match.

West Indies are just not scoring enough runs. They have no chance of winning this match. Hopefully they wake up from their slumber and make a game of this. I need a miracle,  this is the last bet of my multiple,  if it wins ill have a good weekend.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can be a great store of value. Not for small transactions. on: June 25, 2017, 05:54:05 PM
Bitcoin is unique in the way it is perceived by different people. Some see its intrinsic value as a currency,  for buying goods and services as stated by satoshi in his white paper.

Others see it as an investment vehicle, a get rich quick investment or they like it because it is tradable. For sure it is great as a store of value,  but it has many good uses. It will evolve more with time to a currency you can use for small transactions.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: June 25, 2017, 02:20:08 PM
My take is that Mayweather will dance around McGregor, jabbing and keeping him off-balance. Sure, FM could K.O him when he wishes but he'll let the rounds pass as McGregor makes a fool of himself with wild haymakers that miss by a mile. It's in FM's interest to let the 'fight' last long enough to create the opportunity of a rematch and a load more easy money to be had. As has been said, boxing is the loser.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency will become the gold standard of the future? on: June 25, 2017, 12:19:46 PM
You can't look further than bitcoin. At the moment it is the coin with the best value, most people get into altcoins as a way to hedge  bitcoin.

A lot of altcoins have some technical difference compared to bitcoin and that is often the reason given for why people invest in them.

Bitcoin is proven as a store of value with proven security. Once it's network issues and transaction fees are sorted. It will become unbeatable.

292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is BTC Hitting 3000$ today ? on: June 25, 2017, 09:12:30 AM
Yesterday no, today definitely not. But if you are patient,  something in the next couple of months it will surpass $3000 and stay there for a while.

294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you keeping your crypto records? on: June 24, 2017, 10:42:27 AM
I keep a daily spending diary to keep track of where my money goes, be it in bitcoin or Fiat.Keeping a daily spending diary is an easy way to take control over your spending and to identify some less than desirable spending habits.

Also as an added bonus, by keeping a daily spending diary, you're already halfway there in creating your own personal budget.
295  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2017 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: June 24, 2017, 06:13:52 AM
I use a Bitpay visa debit card.It cost me $9.99, and I paid for it in bitcoins. It was mailed to me after completing KYC. They required SSN, an email addy and my home address.

I received it within a week of purchasing it.  My card uses a PIN like a fiat debit card and I can use it at ATM's. it is an okay card, and it helps the conversion of bitcoins to usd seamless.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple is in major trouble on: June 23, 2017, 11:33:18 PM
Soon enough a lot of banks and financial institutions will create their own alt coins. Ripples main target is cross border transfers and that may keep them safe for the meantime.

R3 has been around for a while now but still does not have its own native coin.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I sell ETH for BTC? on: June 23, 2017, 09:08:25 PM
If you can afford it buy more eth, the price surged due to the pending threat of a bitcoin hard fork, and if that hard fork happens eth will skyrocket and the market cap will double or triple.
298  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 on: June 23, 2017, 06:13:50 PM
I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 so that I can sell my Bitcoins, but seems as if it doesn't want to reach that value anytime soon. SHould I sell with the current amount? Undecided

Bitcoin already surged past $3000+ last week and cointelegraph reported that bitcoin price surpassed $4,500 in South Korea as the market’s premium reached an extreme. After that came the correction. I am holding, Id say do the same, it will hit $3000 again in a matter of days/weeks.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crime funded by bitcoin on: June 23, 2017, 03:54:22 PM
Crimes are not funded by bitcoin, people commit crimes. People have always committed crimes from the beginning of time since Cain killed Abel because he was jealous and there were no bitcoins then.

Financial crimes are more common with fiat, i.e - usd, yen and many more. Using bitcoins to receive shady payments does not mean the law cannot catch up to you.
