221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HDD mining aside from storjcoin and burstcoin? on: December 18, 2016, 02:39:46 AM
Are there any hdd mining altcoins nowadays aside from storjcoin and burstcoin? Thanks!

Can you share with us the profit we can make with HDD mining.

I haven't heard before that you can mine with HDD but how this works, how many $ for 24h mining with 1 GB space?

Thank you...

http://burstcoin.biz/calculator

1 GB is obviously very small...the more space the better.  BURST recently released a way to mine on your Android phone as well.

I will use burst whitepaper to wipe my ass after pooping.

That's a farce...we all know you're not coordinated enough to wipe by yourself!

The price is now falling as a lot of people are dumping their Burst after we made a nice rise to 85 sats and was looking good at breaking above 90 sats. But it didn't happen and I see this as a great time to pick up another truck load of Burst which I just did and purchased some more assets. If people want to dump their coins then I and many others will buy them up as the ones that truly believe in Burst and can see the potential will be in this for the long term and not short like many people are in for.

24 hour high according to Poloniex was 93 sats.  I think it happened late last night after I went to bed.

I tried to configure my hard drive to mine Burst but I'm getting this message "
file access Denied" and when I start mining I get this message in my cmd "error reading file" and "no valid shares to submit to pool, two weeks everything is ok now I see a lot of errors..

I had a similar thing a couple times...it was the HDD both times.  Once I just restarted everything and things were fine.  Second time ...the HDD itself was defective.

If you need more help go to BURST forums.

I thought I would try mining some of this. I setup my plot and am ready to pool mine, the only problem I'm having is changing the reward recipient. The error I keep getting is this. {"errorDescription":"Unknown account","errorCode":5}

Any ideas?

I'm using 1.2.6

Go to forums at https://forums.burst-team.us/ to ask questions.

Hello everybody, I just wanted to make sure I'm mining correctly. Does everything look good here?

That one looks good here I have a machine with 200 GB of harddrive which I am preparing to mine Burst but my bit is 32 will it had impact on how I mine Burst I've read that 32 bits is very slow to mine Burst, can anyone confirm this .
The system behind doesn't impact your mining reward. Only the speed. And the only thing, which have an impact is the stagger size and CPU power or GPU power.
Because your system is 32 bits, you might want to optimise your plots after plotting, as the stagger size would be considerable low. You could also plot the plot with direct mode on the GPU plotter. The different softwares is available here: http://forums.burst-team.us:4567/category/9/burst-software
If you want to know more about optimising and plots in general, read here: http://forums.burst-team.us:4567/topic/288/plots-101

As you probably know by now, you got a low low capacity and need to remember to choose a pool with a matching deadline threshold. The community made an overview here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KHu9BWwy_QXIYAx2m_Tzs9BqPoTYUDhEDbHihZEXGsE/edit#gid=81124645

I have som question about mining burst.

I installed wallet and I started mine burstcoin by a pool but I can not understand something. I joined lexitoshi's pool. I checked my balance is 422 Burst. But why I received anything? Why the pool pay me nothing? Is there any limit for payment? I have mined nearly 6 hours.

Can you help me please?

Are lot of pool don't pay out until you've mined 300 BURST or every 24 hours.  Hang on there.  If it is a problem go to the BURST forums and ask,  developers and many knowledgeable people on there.

My calculation is if i buy 3 tb hdd minning space and this invest is never come back.

Really?  What's your calculation of where the price of BURST will be 6 months to a year from now?

You also have to figure in if you're buying drives they will also have some resale value.  Mining BURST is relatively low impact on them.

I started with 100 GB and plotted my way up to about 12 TB... I've mined almost 50,000 coins in about 2 months.  It obviously is going to get tougher with more people mining and pre set diminishing returns...don't wait!
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: December 01, 2016, 04:30:07 PM
I really hope Burst becomes popular.
Look at the website.
http://burst-coin.com/

Tell me what other coin is worth so little but has a professional site, support staff that help people on the forums,
an integrated wallet/ miner that is under constant development,
support from the major exchanges.

Very promising company in my opinion.

I more than second that on BURST.  I have been mining for a couple of months, very easy and the community has been beyond helpful.

Here's to big things ahead for BURST!

What happen to burstcoin? last I check I remember the price to be much higher. Anybody can update me?

With the recent jump in BTC, BURST has pulled back a bit.  Community is still growing, thousands of new wallets being opened every month, devs have a bunch of stuff in the pipeline...personally I think it's a great time to buy.  With the uniqueness of BURST and the green/eco friendly HDD mining I really think it's going to take off.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 2027 full nodes? on: December 01, 2016, 06:05:59 AM
Hello Burst people.
I read on the website that you have  2027 full nodes, which I find hard to believe.
But, I'm open minded  Smiley

Can someone explain how this happened and how it can be verified?

Thanks

If you don't have your answer yet go to the main BURST website/forums and I'm sure someone can help you there.   http://web.burst-team.us

Please can anybody tell me the real life solution Burst coin is solving and the real world use of the tokens.

I echo Shiroslullaby's comments.  The real world "problem" it solved for me.... I got into Bitcoin a little while ago (a year+).  Obviously way too late to mine.  I'm not much of a computer/techie guy but wanted to look into mining another currency.  When I looked into it they all seemed complicated and would require buying more hardware in a process I didn't fully understand.

What I did have was free HDD space  (I own a business and have some extra computers).  When I found BURST the process was easy and was able to mine on resources I already have.  And as mentioned previously...it is very low energy/green/eco friendly...I essentially mine 24/7 in the background of computers  (and now external hard drives) that are already on.  It's pretty much as close to "free" money as you can get for me.

The other "problem" it solved for me as unlike many other cryptos...you can take BURST and invest in assets and earn a decent ROI.  Instead of just holding or dumping on an exchange.

But obviously like almost all cryptos you can't just walk into any store and use BURST.  Then again...where I live I've yet to see anyone accepting Bitcoin yet either.

From your explanation, there is no real world problem solved by this project, mining was designed for a purpose in Bitcoin POW and the cost incur during mining is rewarded by Bitcoin coins, but we all know that Bitcoin has disrupt so many businesses, especially the financial sector and the remittance market. In my opinion this coin has no real world value/use but just use for speculative purposes

You have your opinion I have mine...that's what makes the world go round.  I gave an example of a real world "problem" (in MY world) BURST has solved.  Quite obviously BURST is rather new (about a year with current development team)...of course it hasn't been adopted by merchants worldwide.

20/20 hindsight is a powerful tool...everything you say could be applied to Bitcoin as well if you go back to 2008/2009.  Even today where I live I could drive endlessly, go into countless stores and not find a single merchant that accepts Bitcoin...in fact I've never seen one.

Great ROI.  Nice job!
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BURST Android mining on: November 29, 2016, 01:05:39 PM
Instead of mining on your phone, why not throw it into a fire? /s

Well the obvious answer is your phone would melt and be destroyed in the fire.  Whereas when you mine BURST you simply plot some free space and it uses that to mine...so it runs in the background and doesn't overheat/use the resources of the device.  Very low energy/green/eco friendly.

I can't believe how many people don't know about the BURST mining technology.  There are people that are going to make a KILLING mining this coin (obviously not just through android mining).
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BURST Android mining on: November 28, 2016, 03:47:10 PM
For those interested there is a promo having to do with BURST Android wallet (which allows you to mine if you want).  Can get 250 BURST just by downloading wallet.

Go to the forums here https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/2669/big-burst-giveaway-get-250-burst-in-your-mobile-wallet-right-now

Or go to this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QZU9K-GFJo

Video explains a little bit more about the technology as well.

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BURST Android mining on: November 28, 2016, 01:07:59 PM
First thing you should consider. Is it profitable enough? Definitely not profitable. Your phone may be destroyed by the mining application because of overheating. Its not worth it. Besides, smartphones are not meant to be use for mining. You should buy appropriate specifications of hardware in able to perform safe mining. By the way, BURST is a good name tho. Your phone may burst when you do that. Lol

It does not use the resources of your phone (once again)...a lot of people posting that don't know the BURST mining technology.

I have heard about BURST coin and the way they have designed this coin to mine without wasting energy is really revolutionizing! I haven't tried to get into it. Do you need a good internet connection to download any packages for mining burst coins? My internet connection is pretty bad. I have an old laptop which I use it to fold proteins. I am thinking of using it to mine burst coins.

I would think you'd need a pretty solid connection...but maybe give it a shot.  Again, main BURST site is http://web.burst-team.us
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BURST Android mining on: November 28, 2016, 05:24:19 AM
Anyone here done it?

Obviously you won't get rich just doing it, but seems like a cool little application  (mine on your phone).

Any feedback?

I do have an android phone but will definitely not going to use it to mine any coin,i't's not worth considering the price that you are going to pay,in case your phone gets error like what happen to my friend who gets his phone drained because of mining a certain coin.

Again...it doesn't drain your phone...you plot some free space and it uses that to mine.  Same as the free HDD space on the computer...it doesn't use the resources of the computer but the plotted HDD space.  I'm mining BURST 24/7 on two computers in the background ...I don't even notice it's there when doing other tasks.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BURST Android mining on: November 27, 2016, 05:25:07 PM
I don't think phones are capable of mining still what are the requirements for mining burst coins on phone, any software to install?

I'm the wrong person to ask.  But go here https://forums.burst-team.us

and ask.  Community is very friendly and helpful.
At least you could have told me what client or software would be required to install to get started anyway thanks for your answer and the link to burst coin community

Again...I wouldn't know the answer to that.  I'm not a techie with this stuff.  But I believe you can go to the Google play store and get this.  Just search "burstcoin".
