101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burstcoin a good coin? on: May 13, 2017, 08:44:35 PM
stay away from pumped coin. I dont think that burst coin is good. Whales only pump it to make money and profit. Stay away or you will lose your money. Look at the chart and yoyu will see how awful can this coin be

I definitely disagree with that.  I'd say look at more than a chart when evaluating BURST (look at the community, strength of devs, unique technology, etc).  And although BURST has shot up quite a bit the last few days... it also had been on a very steady rise over months.

what is the good news of  Burst coin?  it is a big  pump now , but this coin has a total  number of  2 billions.   too many  coins.

Wrong way to look at it.  There are currently 1.7 billion coins but there is a hard cap at 2.1 billion.  There are top 10 cryptos currently with supplies in the billions... greater than BURST will ever have.

If you buy BURST at .01 USD and it goes to 50 cents or $1 how are you doing?

congratulation on sustaining development and general progress! been with burst for a along time, big supporter!

in the age of increasing energy costs, this stands out! will continue to invest , as there is no way in theory or practice to do asic for this coin!

cheers

Exactly.  When you invest in crypto look for something unique that offers features, aspects the competition doesn't have.  This is BURST in spades.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burstcoin a good coin? on: May 12, 2017, 04:52:55 PM
It's first time which I listen about this kind of algorithm which uses this coin in order to mine but currently the hard disk space is cheap so maybe I will give it a try. On the other side I don't know because I just looked only for a few minutes the white paper if the available size of HD increases the probability to find blocks, because I saw a video in youtube where someone had used a cluster of HDs with about 50Tbs of capacity.

The more HDD space the better but there are pools geared toward smaller miners, even people mining with free space on their cell phone.

Why this project started picking up so late considering it has been  in development since 2014 ?

Lack of marketing pure and simple.  And current dev team has only been at it for about 1.5 years.  BURST has really only had some substantially marketing the last 2 - 3 months.  People are just becoming aware, I personally think this is just the tip of the iceberg.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: May 10, 2017, 10:58:00 PM
Coin interesting and good price, but would you like to know if you have another roadmap besides the first page? Grateful.
i think they have not!!!
first burst dev has gone...
this coin survive just for a big big community!!!

First dev is apparently gone... but current dev team has been in place for about 1.5 years and very dedicated and invested.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best cryptocurrency to invest for 2017 ? on: May 08, 2017, 11:46:23 PM
Burst Coin  https://www.burstnation.com/

BURSTCOIN is mined by using hard drive space. This is known as POC Mining Proof Of Capacity, also referred to as Proof Of Space. Anyone can mine BURST Coins by allocating the empty space on their hard drive or multiple drives for the mining procedure. This makes BURSTCOIN the most GREEN, environmentally friendly cryptocurrency to mine, using hardly any resourses and it bought and sold on major cryptocurrency trade exchanges thus providing great value to miners.

HUGE potential in BURST.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burstcoin a good coin? on: May 07, 2017, 01:01:49 PM
~snipped~
Here is the official website of Burstcoin : https://www.burst-team.us/ and here is the exchange : https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_burst
With good volume and stable price maybe a good coin to trade with, however I haven't heard this coin till now.

Thing with BURST is it's been around for a bit (over 2 years)... but it was created and original dev didn't do much with it.  Current dev team pick it up about 1.5 years ago and has done a lot .... except marketing.  Significant marketing has only really started the last 2 - 3 months.

So, imo the thing with BURST you know it's established  (It's not some new scam) but it's also "new" to a lot because the marketing just wasn't there.  Which is why I personally saw it as tremendously undervalued.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burstcoin a good coin? on: May 07, 2017, 12:26:43 PM
Can you explain burstcoin's  advantages

BURST has many advantages.  What initially stands out to most is the low power, eco friendly, green, HDD mining.  If you have free space, even on a cell phone you can mine BURST.

It also has an asset exchange where you can reinvest your BURST and make dividends.

The community support is great and growing.  If you look at simple stats like wallets being open and the size of the network/miners... you can see the community is really growing.  Check out burstnation.com and burst-team.us to get an idea on the community.

BURST has a very strong and dedicated dev team.  That have been with the project a while know (1.5 yrs approx) and have substantial personal investment in BURST... so they are motivated to make the coin go.

BURST also wasn't premined, there was no ICO it has grown naturally... it's a "people's coin" if you will.

Someone else mentioned supply.  Yes there are 1.7 billion coins presently but it's hard capped at 2.1 billion.  It's a fallacy to think because there's a large supply the coin can't grow.  There are coins in the billions in regard to supply in the top 10 of cryptos right now.  I also think the asset exchange helps this as a lot people are investing their BURST and not dumping it on the exchanges.

Those are just some of the highlights .... things such as smart contracts, a marketplace, cross chain transfers and more are also a part of BURST's future.

I trade it a little short term, but most definitely holding a chunk long term.  My short time with BURST I'm up 6x on my money... and I get the feeling things are just getting started!
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burstcoin a good coin? on: May 07, 2017, 03:44:34 AM
I've recently heard about Burstcoin. It looks like a really great coin, especially since they make it easy for the not-so-good hardware people. Uses your HD space to mine which I think is awesome.
I want your guys opinions on it. Is it a good altcoin?

HUGE potential imo.  BURST offers so much and is still in its infancy as far a being known.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Burst Nation Radio on: May 05, 2017, 02:15:57 PM
Hey guys,

Did you hear about Burst Nation Radio?
It's a unique crypto radio worldwide, one of the many facet of burst nation.
Honestly the radio is really killing it right now, already more than 60 listeners and growing fast, just as burst coin.

You should really tune in if you want to take a peek on burst coin, listen to some users and devs interview and win some free coins as there's a lots of giveaway every day.

Oh and the music is great also.

Go to www.burstnation.com and tell me what you think Wink
Site looks somewhat active, a bit dark though. Would be interesting to have a radio show about cryptos more

Fyi, you can change the background/format of the site if you scroll to the bottom there's an option so it's easier to read.  I don't like the default black background either.

Can anyone explain to me why my BurstTeam and BurstStaker assets haven't paid out in over a month? They were doing weekly payouts for a while, and now nothing.

There may have been a swap?  Are these Crowetic Assets?  Go to Burstnation.com and ask him directly.  He consolidated and did a swap at one point, I just don't remember the names of everything.

Need recommendations please.

I am planning to get ready to burstcoin mine.

I have my local wallet setup with chain downloaded.

How/where do I start mining on a hdd?

Did you already plot your HDD?  I would recommend going to one of the BURST specific sites -  burstnation.com or https://forums.burst-team.us

Both have links to videos and resources explaining mining.  Or go to YouTube and search appropriate terms.

If you haven't plotted yet it can take some time fyi.  But it's a one time thing.  Overall the process is pretty simple, I am not a tech guy and at all and got it going from the videos and a couple of questions.

No, have not plotted yet, still waiting on amazon to ship/deliver my darn icydock hdd station to burst on my 1tb.
I'll check out the videos as I already have. But if I recall I didnt see setting up local wallet for a pool. I looked at this pool http://pool.burstcoin.biz/ and cannot find a registration/login link.

I haven't checked out the wallets from Burstnation yet... but for the wallets you can download from www.burst-team.us all you do is literally click "start mining" (down at the bottom) and you get a choice of pools that are pre-loaded in the wallet.  Obviously assuming you've already plotted some space in your HDD.  There may be another step or two but it's not complicated.

Just came across this from scrolling through coinmarketcap, looks very promising and innovative. Surprised I havent noticed it before.

HUGE potential imo... a lot of people haven't noticed yet, but they will.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: April 16, 2017, 01:00:17 PM
I'm so happy to finally see the price of Burst start rising now at over 150 sats and has been holding steady above 100 sats for many months now which we haven't seen before. To be honest this coins value should easily be around 500 to 1,000 sats for all the developments that have been released and with many more to come this year. So even at it's current price it's still cheap and affordable to buy for new investors. Anything under 0.01 USD for Burst is a steal in my opinion and people will look back and say I wish I got in Burst when it was at 150 sats. 2017 is the year that Burst finally breaks out and becomes a big name in the crypto industry.

And I think there will be a time .01 USD for BURST won't be seen as the ceiling but still extremely cheap for this coin...I think it has potential well beyond that.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining burst only hdd? on: April 14, 2017, 10:50:24 AM
You just need HDD space, the more the better.  As previously mentioned you do have to plot the space which takes some time... but it's only one time and you can even do it in segments and start mining while plotting if you chose. There are a couple of great websites and many videos with everything you need:

burst-team.us

burstnation.com

BURST has to chance to be huge imo.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] -NEW BURST OP- MINE ANY FREE SPACE-(HDD MINING)- ATs, AE, P2P MARKET+MORE! on: April 12, 2017, 03:13:21 PM
Who are you? A wallet doesn't matter right now its the Database stopping at 345600 April 4th everytime. I though this community provided a working database every 24 hours. Burstnations database dates March and also corrupts. Lex's wallet uses the wallet 1.2.8 so it doesn't matter. I prefer just 1.2.8 as it uses less resources. So it brings me back to why can't anyone update the database instead of talking to me. And I would really think twice about trying to promote a forum  and concentrate more on helping as this its what the community was known for.

I think the point is there are far more people on the forums that could adequately address your questions/concerns.  Either burst-team.us or burstnation.com.
