I'm sure stereotype thanks you as well, Rofo...  Tongue

I have been on the sidelines through all this recent drama but would really like to thank eagleflies and everyone who has helped get Nobl to where we are now. After all the messing about regarding POS to have such a great job accomplished by the Noble community says alot about it!! Heres to a great future!! Smiley Smiley Smiley

also remember unless your very techy if you're wallet is encrypted get your coins onto an exchange before the switch to POS!!!!

That's sensible advice. Basically encrypted wallet makes -salvagewallet method to fail and wallet's owner has to proceed with more manual methods.

Just to confirm, if you have an unencrypted wallet you can bypass exchanges just by migrating your wallet.dat file over and using the -salvagewallet command correct?

Eagleflies - Are you leaving us after the switch or will you stay on?

Transition was tested twice already and things went well so we should make the real switch without much pain too. Then if everything works fine we will not need to do major changes like the change we are doing now.

So I can probably work on some updates if they are needed and if Rofo is interested in cooperation after the switch. However I have also other projects to work on and I will not be able to devote as much time as now to Noble. One has to earn a living you know Wink

Well I think I speak for everyone here in saying that we hope that you can continue to work with Rofo and this community in some way after the switch. Maybe this will push Noble into a much larger market cap and allow for you to be compensated well enough to work more on this project. We appreciate all you have done for us.

How much more Noble do you need to reach the goal for the fundraiser? I will give the rest of whatever we need.

Give as much as you feel Smiley

What we have should be a plenty to kick off the fundraising.

Any ideas on how much to pay out per action?

Cool. Just gave 500k

Bullying, and bad mouthing? Grow up.
All Rofo has to do is respect the fact that some people want to see some evidence of actually producing something with the funds he was given. Is it really too much to ask? And what does he do?.....hide behind you bunch of fan-boys.

I don't see the community division here. It seems to be just me doing the arse-kicking. If that really is the reality, and i am very much in the minority, you peeps really shouldn't have much to worry about. Just stop replying to me, and carry on convincing yourself you have something of value here. I just dont see it, and/but im open to being shown i am wrong.

Again folks, this is the standard wannabe IPO/ICO fund raisers should be working to, in 2015. Anything less is an investment in hope and charity........ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=177323;sa=showPosts

I don't understand why you are here if you "just don't see it."
I mean do you think because you have over 700 posts that makes you some kind of coin authority here?
However, you do make a good point in no longer responding to you. So with that, I'll take my leave from conversing with you.

He would have been sacked by now, and his 'budget' taken back off him by now, if i was.
When did you become his spokesperson?
I'm not his spokesperson but I don't like to see unnecessary bullying or bad-mouthing going on especially when it's not necessary and only serves to divide the community here.
You want things done differently, come out with your own coin and do things your own way.

....
You call it fud. I call it asking for evidence.

Have any of you children ever managed people before?

I have and I am far from a child. I have found giving people the time and resources to accomplish a task leads to a far greater chance of success than micro managing and harassing them. But what Do I know.

Yep, i get that. But the other necessary element, is how their progress is measured.
Lets imagine the manager sits down with the employee who has been given a fairly large budget for his 'project', several weeks ago, for the weekly briefing....

Manager    : "So employee, can you bring us up to speed on what you have carried out, what's been achieved over the last week, and what the plan is for the coming week?"
Employee  : "Cant show you what ive actually done, and dont feel i need to show you any evidence, cos i dont work like that. Just trust me. We will get there in the end. Next week? I will be talking to a few people.....probably. Depends if i feel up to it or not. Updates? Geez, Mr Manager, you ask too many questions man. Anyway, must be going. Maybe see you next week....or not."

Arrogance like that, would get you sacked, and Im not the only one asking for much more communication, Rofo. You want a good example of what is necessary here??.....

How is it that you became Rofo's manager? I must have missed that somewhere.

The switch to POS, IMO, will prove to be the catalyst for capital that this coin has needed for quite a while in order to keep up. Of course, there must be something that keeps a coin going. Constant innovation and a patient, noble core group of people is a must.

I'll go first:
1. Magi Coin PoS. I think we need to pull something slightly less normal out of the bag in order for Noble to achieve more support and growth
2. I don't really know enough about this to make a decision, in my eyes the lower values are better but would like to see what other people think.
3. 10% minimum, I would like 12%
4. If you want me to help test drop me a PM and I will see what I can set up. I think I speak for the community when I say thanks for all your effort myeagleflies Smiley

I assume the following discussion is based on the community will go with PoS-II.

@eagleflies, I replied to your PM. Also I am posting the same things I am thinking in order to proceed (correct me if these subjects were already covered)

#1 The first thing to decide might be working with which coin source; it could be more compatible by adding PoS into NOBL original code (but will take time); and in contrast it would be easy and quick by work withing magi's code and change it for NOBL.

#2 PoS-II design, like maximum allowed stake days (depending on amount of coins) etc (these mentioned in the magi post); this part somehow needs to figure carefully

(guess you guys already discussed, sorry if I missed the point) is NOBL going to be a pure PoS or PoW/PoS hybrid? will PoS be plugged in by a hard fork?

In a quick way, we can adapt magi code to NOBL and put it on the testnet to test the compatibility and stability. In any case, #2 will need a bit figure with math (determine coin age parameters); if no one else can do it, I can get it done but I'll need some time to work on it.

I believe it was going to be a pure POS instead of a hybrid and it was going to be a hard fork.

I also like 10% interest to begin with.

Sounds like a good amount of movement and involvement is taking place with many members now. This is always a good sign. Even with BTC dropping below $200, this technology is going to continue to grow.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - Redefining 2015 - Colored Coin 'Fuel' [NOXT/NOCC] on: January 13, 2015, 06:39:15 PM
Let's gather PoS related ideas which were proposed so far:

1. [voephilis] Use PoS parameters which were considered in Oct. Interest rate starts at 100% then is being lowered several times until it reaches 1%.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=402667.msg9096942#msg9096942
2. [Boreiv, kresuk] Use same PoS parameters which Rofo considered recently with interest rate 5-10%
3. [fairglu] Switch to PoS without using an exchange.
4. [kresuk] Use swap rate of 5:1 or 10:1 e.g. for 5/10 current coins people get 1 new "pos" coin.
5. [voephilisI] Joe, the dev of Coin Magi is willing to help. His message: "I can experiment the hybrid PoW/PoS like XMG, but it's also fine with the pure PoS; I strongly recommend XMG's PoS-II, it's more safe compared to the implementation of PoS 2.0 by blackcoin and much more network activities triggered by PoS-II comparing with the PoSV of REDD as it advertised. Feel free to let me know what I can do."

Here's my $.02 on each:
[1] Looks good to me. We are already close to 2 billions coins so the 100% interest rate would be working just at the very beginning. This could work by attracting people to stake just after the switch and at least some of them will continue to do so even with lower interest rate. Also bear in mind that interest rate is not the only PoS parameter available. We could also cap max reward per block.
[2] I think 5% is too low. 10% is OK. The problem may be to find people interested in keeping their wallets open all the time which is important since this is how the network is secured in PoS.
[3] This is interesting because we can do the switch without relying on external parties. Also decide freely what swap rate to choose and so on. However if we follow this route there will be two noblecoins in existence. So in fact we will still need to talk with exchanges either to de-list the old noblecoin or ask them to add new noblecoin-pos.
[4] The idea of having less coins is to push the price higher hoping that with swap rate 10:1 price also goes 10 times higher e.g. to 70 SAT now. However there is risk people who are not actively looking at Noble will treat increase in price as pump and in the end price may end up lower than 10 times higher. So in the end market cap of Noble may go down.
[5] This is most revolutionary idea. Switch to new version of PoS potentially avoiding some pitfalls related to the well known PoS which is used by many coins. This sounds good. However by choosing this path we change drastically Noblecoin's image. What I mean by this is Rofo chose 'stable yet boring route' and this attracted all of us here. This is what usually people in traditional finance like. To have something you can rely on even if it produces lower returns. I am not sure if making such a bold move would be good long term. There is much higher risk that hard fork will be needed if serious issues are found in the new PoS code. Short term it should be good as it is always easier to advertise bold moves in crypto world.

Please share your thoughts. At this point I do not like [4] but would like to further discuss remaining points.

I would like to see #5 happen. For NOBL to be one of the first POS II coins would push it forward quite a bit I believe. Our algorithm is more important than we think and by changing with the times faster we will surely get more exposure and more financial backing of sorts (which, lets face it, is necessary). Not to mention it seems secure and stable.

Next step (I hope)... POS!

Does anyone have a working link to see how many NOBLs are in circulation now that burning is complete?

LOL how poetic.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Jason ended up 16th on the POH voting. Which is pretty awesome considering our size VS the likes of DRK and others. We beat out NXT even.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Story of Bob Surplus on: December 23, 2014, 02:05:36 PM
This story is THE reason I chose to go with NOBL.

Why?  Is NOBL a BOB coin.

It's not and we'd like to keep it that way.

99.9% of the alts out there are not and will never be a BOB coin so I guess that makes ShitCoin and NUGGETS a Super Strong Buy.  haha!

If you are implying that 99.9% of altcoins are ALL non-scam coins then you are delusional and should not make any future financial investments before having your head examined.

This is the best thought out and professional example of crypocurrency that I have seen. I do not see how NOXT and the original Noblecoin will not soar from this. The growth and exposure that has been realized as of late is astonishing.
