201  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 17, 2014, 10:33:53 PM
RP. thanks for mentioning supernode because I had no idea what it was and the flaw it addresses. Definitely makes me more bearish for crypto after reading about it, unless action is taken in the next 1-2 years.  A lot of people do not even have 2 GB free on their hard drives.  lol

what is all the fuss with supernodes?  Huh

Ok, I see where the name came from. I saw the movie, but totally forgot about that element.
So when you say it, you say "tan", not "tain"??  lol
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium: Updated 0.9.2 Build Available NOW + Faucet Fixed! on: January 17, 2014, 04:44:18 PM
Wow. I just now realized it is spelled wrong! Were not you trying to say it's "unobtainable"?
You are missing an "i"...
Might be why some had trouble connecting because they spelled it incorrectly when they made
the conf file.  lol

Bad Monkey!

I used the glass gauges, but you have to remember to bring them in during the Winter or they crack.

209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: everyone i urge you to change your password on: January 17, 2014, 02:01:14 PM
and never use the same password for more than one pool or the same pin

just save them to a file or develop  a method to make each unique, but duplicatable
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AsicCoin (ASC) | SHA256 - The coin for ASIC Mining! | No Premine on: January 17, 2014, 12:01:06 PM
Yes, I hate how recent versions of Windows dumbdown the OS by hiding extensions. It's the first thing I turn back on. You do have to know how to work with files to do this stuff (at this point in time anyways). Best to search for entire threads, FAQs about how to solo, etc.

211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AsicCoin (ASC) | SHA256 - The coin for ASIC Mining! | No Premine on: January 16, 2014, 10:25:22 PM
Change these lines to something you can remember for all coins in the future:

like:

rpcuser=duckfart
rpcpassword=hunter

the user and pw then have to match in your solo mining string

If you are merely using the wallet, just leave those lines out and encrypt the
wallet thru the qt program.

I still need the client, the website for this coin is horrible. No one has the
zipfile in their dropbox??
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting capture of current public opinion on: January 16, 2014, 06:47:33 PM
I think it shows we are on the cusp of general acceptance. Already have 40% of computer users onboard. That's pretty good!
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fibonacci SCRYPT ASIC Litecoin LTC Miners - Datasheet Posted on: January 16, 2014, 06:26:31 PM

You can't yet, but keep watching this thread because it is probably soon.

215  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What is most profitable on: January 16, 2014, 04:32:16 PM
So hard to know because you cannot predict changes in difficulties, except that they probably will keep going up astronomically. Mine because it is a hobby, not for profit. If you want profit, then just buy the coins outright from the start. Most oldtimers say this is the best way to go.
216  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it a good idea to drop out from college and invest in Crypto Currencies? on: January 16, 2014, 02:42:43 PM
Personally, I've had a lot more bang from technical schools than college. Once you have a degree a lot
of places would let you work there "because you won't be happy". BS! I just want to pay my freakin'
bills! I don't care if I'm cleaning toilets or hauling garbage. If it pays the bills, who cares? There are
definitely negatives with graduating. So, my point is to get trained in something as a backup, but you
don't have to spend $100K on college to make it.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU for mining (and some gaming thrown in) on: January 16, 2014, 02:20:37 PM
My post relates to the OP because he can skip worrying about a card for mining and focus on a card best for gaming.

219  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Read this if you use dropbox for backups of your wallet with blockchain.info... on: January 15, 2014, 09:28:15 PM
Why would you use dropbox to stole crypto? Seems risky to me. I would not store them online anywhere except during transactions. An external harddrive is much safer. I'm ordering a second one as a backup soon.

I do plan on switching everything offline. Its like a double edge sword for me because i have such bad luck with failing externals

Thank you for mentioning that. Motivates me to get my backup drive! lol
