41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: August 08, 2022, 11:51:07 PM
I live in the community where money is very very hard earned. Lots of people live below the poverty line so they are always struggling to make their ends meet.
So we don't have much left to spend on entertainment. The most - people do is eat out and go to cinema.
We dont gamble and we cannot throw money away life rich people and people living in developed country does.
but i'm sure that in your community there are some people who like gambling and maybe gambling with fake money is an alternative to entertain themselves playing gambling without involving real money.
i totally understand the situation in your place with all the difficulties and real money is very much worth it. but if they really need entertainment to fill their spare time and only gambling can make them feel happy, maybe they should try gambling using counterfeit money.
Nope. No way gambling with fake money get you entertained.

My point of view is like this : those casinos with a tagline ' we offer to play with fake money to reduce an addicting to gamble' lol you are luring people to get addicted even more! As once you tried any kind form of gambling with even a fake money .. people would believe that they are always winning in the fake money rounds then why not to give a shot in real money to get easy money as you guys mentioned above that in your community .. the money is hard earned then why not to try an easy money through gambling , that's my point of view.

The excitement is truly different if you will use the fake money vs. real money. The gambling sites are just luring gamblers to play if they have such tagline. Let us admit that we are more careful when our hard-earned money is at stake. Also, how you play with fake money is also different, as you don't care much about the results if you are just using play money.
42  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: August 08, 2022, 11:21:54 PM
The bottom line to and of social media has always been and remains business- how to monetize it.  The goal wasn't to altruistically connect everyone but a mindset of how much $$$ can be made by connecting everyone.
I agree from the start that social media was created as a business to make money. Because digital business transformation is the most promising thing until now and between those who use social media, they really need each other even though they don't use it as a profitable business.

But let us admit, with the proliferation of marketplace in social media channels, a lot of people are benefiting from it. However, as a buyer, you need to be very careful as you may encounter bogus sellers. But I don't have anything against these people using social media as marketplace. As long as they are not screwing people, this platform is helping alleviate their living and not relying to somebody else to generate funds for living.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MAXX Finance - Most reliable Staking Dapp is coming soon on: August 08, 2022, 10:23:18 PM
This thread is not very active but the giveaway are all claimed already. So more than likely, a lot of the users who joined your airdrop giveaway are outside from the forum. By the way, it is too early to claim about being the most reliable staking dapp. We need to see first how you will perform once your project is already actively operating.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one do you think its more healthy for a project on: August 07, 2022, 10:39:00 PM
Most especially new projects do you think its healthy to rush things up or take a lot of time and gradually release updates and follow roadmaps slowly? There are some complains that most projects aren't following the exact timing on their roadmap and some even takes this is Red Flag.
Just follow everything that has been presented at the right time. That's what investors want, to be at the right time and do everything what they've said.
If it's on the road map, just do it and there's no excuse for that because all of those things are planned when they're about to launch. Delay of updates is what people don't like and that's why it makes a lot of them disappointed when there's already an expected update to do.

Many projects have the excuse of delaying their things, but it will show how dedicated they are to achieve their targets. A lot are delaying their tasks because of insufficient funds or lack of it. So if they can't raise their targets, high likely that their planned activities will be delayed. This is why if the projects wants a continuous implementation of their roadmap, they need to secure private funding so it won't deter their activities.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: The current crypto bear could end the market. on: August 07, 2022, 09:37:47 PM
The bear market hasn't ended. It looks like we're towards a bullish move, but the market is in a stabilized mode with the price moving within specific range. A pure bull market according to experts is supposed to take place by the falling year or later. For now we're gonna experience gradual move without any big push even if some positive news happens around.

Also, how many bearish periods have we seen in this market? That's a lot already and here we are, we are still surviving. And the difference today is that we have more stakeholders and users that are into this market. So I don't think this will be the end but instead just another challenge in crypto, but later on, people who do believe will reap their rewards. But it depends on what coins they stored during this bearish period.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FUNGY NFT , NEW NFT MARKETPLACE ON POLYGON CHAIN on: August 06, 2022, 11:24:17 PM
Your website link is not working and need to be rectified to - https://fungy.io/#/

What I worry about NFT collectibles is their worth afterwards. This is the dilemma of some buyers, if their item will still have a value in the future. So do you think the fungy nft marketplace are selling worthwhile NFT items, that can be of value in the future?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token question and ownership on: August 06, 2022, 10:37:06 PM
If there is nothing backing these tokens, I fail to see what value they have?

There is demand in the market and that is what important.  As long as there are people willing to buy the tokens, the token will have value. besides cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and BNB have real-life uses, and these real-life uses also backed these cryptocurrencies.

Aside from that, a speculative market is pretty much popular among traders because they can take advantage of the volatility of these cryptocurrencies.

This is why it is important to follow-up the coin or token that you are holding, so you will know what kind of developments they are going thru. The value of the token basically revolves around the supply and demand concept. So much better if you will invest on a project with actual applications in the market, where users are actually using it. Their price is very subjective as it depends on the market itself, how people perceive the token's usefulness and value in the market.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Millions are still been raised in this bear market on: August 05, 2022, 11:58:55 PM
Bunch of new projects can still raise a lot of money especially some projects that cooperated with the centralized exchange site. https://icodrops.com/

You must also aware that if during the bear market as long as investors are getting hyped and they will always invest in a project. Basically that's a fundraising and the investors can also invest small amounts of money but the quantitiy become so much that makes the project able to raised millions of money from the market easily. that proves that if the intention to invest in the project is hardly getting affected by the market trend.

And if I may add, if the fundraising is done by known platforms like Binance, people are stilly buying because they have the hope that the project will take off. So if you want a lil bit of assurance, go to top launchpads and also study the project itself. You should not listen to the fud but you also need to do your own homework, learn the foundation of the project, their goals and plans.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Whales Store Their BTC on: August 05, 2022, 11:29:08 PM
I don't think there is any specialty to it for whales and regular bitcoin enthusiast. The wallets are very affordable and available and crypto enthusiast get these, stalk there coins and keep there private keys or seed phrases safe. That's all that really matters in the end, the level of security you give to your seed phrase or private key as, they define whom has access to or owns the wallet and not just having a wallet itself.
I think these guys would be a lot regular about the way they go about there hodlings buy would occasionally move it unto the exchanges to make some profit off it. That's what it's often about for them isn't it.

I also don't think they have so much difference with regular crypto holder. Also, I think they also store in various addresses with secure keys. Not only one address but several. They can also possibly distributing their funds to different active trading accounts. I don't think they are only using one exchange in terms of trading their coins. But for sure, they also have similar mindset to regular crypto user when it comes to securing their funds.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: August 05, 2022, 10:35:50 PM
It's a good thing you teach your neighbors about bitcoin, but I think that after you teach your neighbors about the technical part of bitcoin, which by the way is a part that they will need to dedicate themselves to learn, you will also have the hard task from teaching them the important rules about investing in bitcoin, I think things like: 'just buy and make Hoodl' can end up with your neighbors not liking you if they buy bitcoin and then the price drops a lot. when explaining about rules for investing in bitcoin you will have to talk to them about some technical analysis things, because your neighbors will need to be aware of market entry points (purchase points) even if it is to make hodl they will need to have this knowledge

They need to understand that going into this market involved a lot of risk. I hope they will not think that this will be their route to riches because this is not an easy path for that. But slowly, they will learn some basics of this market and not be ignorant with things. Some people have negative notion towards this market because of ignorance. If they will be interested, they can further increase their knowledge by going over the internet and read as much as they can. In today's generation, you can always tap the internet if you want to learn more about certain topic.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: The BTC price must stabilize in the long run. on: August 04, 2022, 11:47:37 PM
back to the reality of bitcoin now those who hold it because the real reason is its volatility which gives them hope to get rich and we are not hypocrites for this. and naturally also bitcoin can not grow into something that might be said to be stable
So Bitcoin, and anything that wants to follow it in market capitalization, must be introduced to the public in phases, which could take a very long time.
Of course this takes time and market capitalization is of course unavoidable from volatility and inflation so worry about value and supply will always be there.

This volatility factor is indeed the driving force for most crypto users to continue to hold bitcoin. This is why stability is not really the aim of most. People are banking on the possibility that the btc price will increase a lot someday, hence, holding their satoshis as long as they can. But in the long run, we are aiming for stability so we can use this for everyday, and we have no qualms of using it as payment method. But unfortunately, we are not yet in this stage.
52  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Prompt safe staking with good APY on: August 04, 2022, 11:12:54 PM
Offering around 36.79% APY which it is really something that would make you boil and to be interested with those percentages.
We know Binance reputation and if changes comes then we do know on whats next.  Cheesy

Under such conditions, they may pay the interest that they indicate. Look at the conditions, the extremely short staking period (only 15 days) and the hard deposit limit, no more than $75, on average. Although I have never participated in such micro-staking, so I can not say how things are going with the changes in conditions.

But in general, all these staking with high interest are calculated on the fact that there will be a constant influx of new money from outside, as soon as this stops, various restrictions will begin. So, roughly speaking, these pools are like ponzi schemes.

To be honest, I only trust binance when it comes to staking or earning interest. Though they may have lower rates as compared to others. I believe, binance won't screw their users. Doubt if the staking platform is offering a high APY, usually, their lifespan are short. Before you can even get your initial investments, they are already gone. So don't be tempted with high APY, better look for the credibility and trustworthiness of the platform.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: Solar panels set to be mandatory on all new buildings under EU plan on: August 03, 2022, 11:37:45 PM
Quote
The “solar rooftop initiative” in the European Commission’s REPowerEU plan would introduce a phased-in legal obligation to install solar panels on new public and commercial buildings, as well as new residential buildings.
To me, this is a welcome development and one that is long overdue, I hope my dear country, Nigeria can copy from this,  as this will go a long way in solving the power challenges that is currently ravaging almost every part of the country.,
It is quite disappointing as to how a country that's been so blessed with all manner of natural resources continue to suffer in lack and insufficiency due to ignorance and political greed, my country is a nation blessed with so much sun, as such, the idea of making solar energy mandatory in every building is a good initiative that will not only benefit the EU citizens alone, but will also be of great benefit to Nigeria if the government can take up the idea as well, this will at the least, solve 90 percent of the power instability in the country.

Maybe, don't wait for your government to have this kind of initiative. As you said, you are blessed with so much sun, why not start with your own home, try a small solar set-up and see if you can benefit from it? Now, once your neighbors saw your small project, they may ask you about this. And if they see the benefits, they most likely will follow. You can start small and then, just add solar panels and other parts like batteries later on. If you will wait your government to this kind of initiative, you may be waiting for nothing.
54  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are we going to recover or continue to dump? on: August 03, 2022, 11:09:23 PM
What are your current opinions on the cryptocurrency market?
The entire cryptocurrency market has already been heavily dumped. But the market has been trying to recover for quite some time.  And the price of other currencies, including Bitcoin, has remained stable. At the same time, the price of everything is gradually increasing. so i think we going to recover now.

There were a few coins that pumped a bit but since the price of Bitcoin is becoming quite stable, they still dumped later on. I guess this market situation will still take time to recover and if we'll take a look at the history of the market, the ATH cycle takes every 4 years so it's just the best time to buy and have patience for a while.

If you have strong belief in bitcoin market particularly, this is actually good time to accumulate satoshis that you can afford to store for long-term. Because if you do think that in the near future, we will experience a good price of bitcoin, then, why not take advantage of the current market, right? We are seeing a bearish period today, but sooner or later, once it starts recovering, you may regret of not buying today.
55  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: August 03, 2022, 10:06:17 PM
The higher inflation is just going to be temporary, until the markets had time to adjust and the governments of the world had balanced the scale with their manipulation of their own local economy with inflation counter measures.

The rich will feel the brunt of the impact, because they will have to pay more taxes to fund these counter measures for the poor. (Social grants / tax subsidy for certain food items / higher interest etc....)  Roll Eyes

For now, we can't avoid this inflation from happening especially we are still in crisis brought about by the covid pandemic and this Russia-Ukraine war. People are suffering around the globe, not only one or two, but this situation is happening everywhere. As we can't escape from this reality, what we can do is help ourself survive in these challenging times. Don't blame your government, much better if you will find your options how to keep afloat and not rely from anyone.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: A Secret to financial breakthrough on: August 02, 2022, 11:51:36 PM
Leaving aside social conditioning factors, since it will be more difficult to become rich if you are born into a poor family in Somalia than if you are born into a middle-class family in Austria, a common characteristic of people who are not born rich and become rich is to believe that their destiny is largely in their own hands. There is always a luck component that you can't control but if you want to improve your economic situation you better get off your ass to make it happen.
Always talks about on the effort that you should make rather than making big plans inside into your brain but not doing anything then it would really be just normal that you would really remain as a poor one.
Work hard and work smart and persevere on what you are trying to achieve and not just pure talks because you wont really be making yourself progressive if you wont really be making such actions.
We know that there are advantages when you are really that being born on a rich family since you do have the financial advantage whenever you do set up plans on making investment or something in related
compared into those people who do lack opportunity and chances but somewhat it cant be impossible if you do just simply work hard and persevere.

Just take for example of those rags-to-riches stories and you will find out that hard work, perseverance are just few common traits of these people. Where you came from won't dictate your future, because it is indeed yourself that will direct your future. Your actions will give you hope on what you will achieve down the road.
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading really worth it? on: August 02, 2022, 11:19:36 PM
I have a friend. he was the one who introduced me to the crypto world.
he is the one who supports his family from the daily trading results. he's a scalper. and as far as I can see his life seems well off.

but he never told me that not everyone can do it. especially for a beginner. then he will suffer a lot of loss. not because of high fluctuations. but because the emotions of a beginner are difficult to control. he said that psychological control will only be formed when experienced. because experience is what makes it. so he didn't even suggest me to follow him as a day trader who made his main job. unless it is only used as a sideline with a set time so that it is not too long.

and I wanted to quit my job because I wanted to become a day trader. but i didn't get out. because it turns out that for a beginner like me it is very difficult to get used to market conditions which are quite draining on the mind and emotions.

but seeing my friend who is a day trader, trading seems easy. and it actually buys at the bottom and sells at the top. Market analysis can be studied anywhere. and read in many places in cyberspace. but emotional control will only be formed by itself by the experience gained.
that's a saying I got from my friend who is a day trader. and he made day trading his main job. but he didn't recommend anyone to follow him. unless the person is really experienced in dealing with market situations. and market analysis is also of course the most basic thing. and the most difficult is controlling emotions and greed.

I can appreciate what your friend is telling you. At least he is honest that this is not for everyone. Maybe, he already formed his strategies and very familiar with the market, so he can earn profits even as scalper or day trader. If you are new to trading and you only have small bankroll, for sure, emotions will be a part of your journey. And that is hard to control if you only have small funds and some of it are necessary to your living.
I think, if someone is just starting in trading. Don't quit your job yet, try with small funds in trading and learn the ropes. Once you get the grasp of it and you are already starting to earn, then, think if you can increase your budget. You can only quit your regular job if you are confident with your trading results.
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Singapore to unveil plans to becoming a Bitcoin hub on: August 02, 2022, 10:49:32 PM
In my opinion .....a country cannot be labeled as a BTC hub, if they do not allow Bitcoin to be legal tender. (It must be allowed to be a currency) .... this is not currently the status in Singapore, because it is legal to invest and trade cryptocurrencies in Singapore. However, cryptocurrencies are not recognized as legal tender.

So, it will not be an ideal Bitcoin tourist attraction for people with Bitcoin to visit, because you will have to pay with Fiat currencies for goods and services in Singapore.  Roll Eyes

But maybe, there will be a lot of merchants or shops that will accept bitcoin or crypto payments. I believe, they can be a bitcoin hub even if they don't make bitcoin as legal tender. As long as bitcoin payment is readily available in most of their services so tourists can actually use their satoshis anytime they want to. And with the settings in Singapore, I believe they can easily do it. But that is, if merchants are also willing to add bitcoin in their payment system.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE ClONE Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Token. on: August 01, 2022, 11:08:32 PM
Granted that this coin survives it will be worth 1/billionth of a cent and this is your best case scenario. I am just stressing that you should abandon it before you even started. You need to land on the rock hard surface of the reality and bear in your skull that crypto public no longer follows this forum for their investment choices. It just beats me how people do not realize making new coins no longer makes sense.

If you will look at their site, it seems to me as experimental project of a 3rd grader. I may be exaggerating here, but don't know if people are still falling from this kind of project. A doge clone under BSC network, now, who will support this? More than likely, those who are only after for quick gain, but wonder who will buy, unless the team themselves showing that someone is buying this token. I think, better abandon this project this early. Before they will screw up naive users.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba lovers lower your expectations on: August 01, 2022, 10:35:32 PM
I can say, SHIB got a lot of interest when it was listed in Binance. But afterwards, I have no idea about their major milestones in this market. So don't know if you can really expect a good rise in its price. I have the feeling that just like most meme tokens, they will die down slowly if the team won't find other ways how to sustain the interest of the community. Though I am seeing SHIB to be included in the payment options in some gambling sites but I believe it is not enough to maintain their market.
