Greeks may send money abroad to their friends to buy bitcoins for them. They could use insured courier packages for transferring the money.

Two greek friends of mine managed to withdrew their euros from their bank account with the help of bitcoin.
They used their internet banking to send euros to btcgreece.com (greek btc exchange with a greek bank account). There must be no limitation for transferring money from one greek bank to another greek bank via internet banking. Then they bought bitcoins and withdrew.

A huge Solar blast occurred 2 days ago. According to the expert in this video "We got lucky again"...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze3mwO7N-KQ#t=22

What  is your opinion about such an event hitting the earth? Is the bitcoin network going to survive? What about the human infrastructure? Is this a substantial risk for the mining farms, exchanges or even cold storage? What should be done for the protection of the bitcoin infrastructure in case something like that happen?

Here is some information about solar storm of 1859.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_storm_of_1859#Similar_events

Similar events

Ice cores containing thin nitrate-rich layers have been analyzed to reconstruct a history of past solar storms predating reliable observations. Data from Greenland ice cores, gathered by Kenneth G. McCracken[12] and others, show evidence that events of this magnitude—as measured by high-energy proton radiation, not geomagnetic effect—occur approximately once per 500 years, with events at least one-fifth as large occurring several times per century.[13] However, more recent work by the ice core community (McCracken et al. are space scientists) shows that nitrate spikes are not a result of solar energetic particle events, so use of this technique is in doubt. 10Be and 14C are considered to be more reliable indicators by the ice core community.[14]These similar but much more extreme cosmic rayevents, however, may originate outside the solar systemand even outside the galaxy. Less severe storms have occurred in 1921 and 1960, when widespread radio disruption was reported. The March 1989 geomagnetic storm knocked out power across large sections ofQuebec. On July 23, 2012 a "Carrington-class" Solar Superstorm (Solar flare, Coronal mass ejection, Solar EMP) was observed; its trajectory missed Earth in orbit. Information about these observations was shared first publicly by NASA on April 28, 2014.[2][15]

Dev is it possible to integrate a decentralized storaze architecture (something like storj or maidsafe) for the xcloud service?
A really difficult problem but if it can be solved then much more potential for the xcloudcoin.

@fairlay

Your theory does not explain the missing fiat. Although it is a good explanation for the missing btc.
9  Economy / Service Discussion / my theory about Mtgox fiasco on: August 19, 2014, 12:55:17 PM
My theory about the Mtgox fiasco is this:

Karpeles used mtgox's clients (fiat /btc) deposits to manipulate the market. He probably was doing that with the help of bots. For example, if he wanted to increase the price he was "borrowing" fiat from mtgox's depositors and with that fiat he was buying btc, creating an uptrend. As more mtgox's clients were buying bitcoins there was a moment when the clients who had fiat in their accounts and wanted to buy bitcoins couldn't  because Karpeles had already bought bitcoins with their money. So, at that point Karpeles had to sell the bitcoins that he had already bought in order to give the Mtgox's clients fiat to buy also. ( this also explains the huge lag, he needed time to do this).

So this strategy should had given Karpeles a lot of profit because he was buying cheap bitcoins with borrowed money (which caused an uptrend) and when he was forced to sell bitcoins (which were more expensive) to cover his clients needs, he was selling less, so he had profit in bitcoins.
But this is not true because there is also one more parameter, the liquidity. When he was forced to liquidate bitcoins he might had to sell more bitcoins than he had bought if liquidity was very low.  So the extra bitcoins had to be created from thin air which caused a btc fractional reserve. Same logic applies if he wanted to create a downtrend with a fiat fractional reserve as a consequence.

Το localbtc είναι πράγματι η καλύτερη λύση αλλά χρονοβόρα διαδικασία για κάποιον που θέλει άμεσα τα fiat.
12  Local / Ελληνικά (Greek) / btc- εφορία on: March 29, 2014, 12:52:35 AM

Is it possible to modify huntercoin so bots can be used only in one or two teams at most?
This will make huntercoin more interesting I think...
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I loaned you 1 bitcoin today, how could i expect you to repay if value rises? on: March 23, 2014, 04:10:33 AM
If the price rise by x10, I could repay you 0,7btc for 1 btc at most. But when the price rise ×10 and then fall 60% i could repay you 3 btc for 1btc at least if my orders do not intetact with the market (orders for 10-50 btc)
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox announce finding of 200,000 lost BTC! on: March 22, 2014, 01:49:49 AM
Is there any proof that mtgox had a total of 850k btc in hot and cold storage? I do not consider the hacked mtgox data as a proof here because the data could have been modified in order to present a larger total (btc or fiat) balance. I believe that any information is leaked is in purpose and MK is responsible for the leaks.

More the amount of btc or fiat that Mtgox claims as lost, less the percentage that Karpeles pays back to gox customers.
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: mtgox chat from today ! we still alive !!!! he is not finished at all ! on: February 27, 2014, 01:16:07 AM
Karpeles has a lot of bitcoins. He is an early adopter and he was running one of the biggest exchanges. He must have more than 100k btc for himself in cold storage which was not related with mtgox. He is not an idiot he is told to pretend it. For sure a lot of bitcoins may have been lost but the problem here is the trust. If mtgox enable bitcoin withdrawals and the 550k costomers or a portion of them loose trust and try to sell their bitcoins then the price will go down down down... So the best strategy for him and for big investors is to claim that all btc had been lost if the majority eat that manipulation. The "leaked" document and the irc conversion is for testing reactions.

Pure manipulation...
