Hey Luke, any luck with rockxie and his "New R-box"? im not sure if its my hardware doing the bad hashing (i suspect it is) or if its the lack of information you're getting from rockxie
Nope.

hm.. having the hardware wouldn’t help you much ether, am i correct?

IME both the NEW R-Box and the R3-Box perform sub-par with BFGMiner compared to CGMiner and the CGMiner fork. It seems like the code in BFGMiner is not able to properly set the clock rate to overclock it with the same effectiveness as the CGMiner code.

From what I've seen, both CGMiner and BFGMiner perform comparably until you start to overclock the RockMiner ASICs. While the original R-Box wasn't overclocked much (and showed the same issue if you tried to do so), their newer hardware ships overclocked to a large degree. And while overclocking seems to work with CGMiner (though at the expense of some hardware errors), it seems to only moderately increase effective hashrate with BFGMiner while sending the hardware errors sky-rocketing.

My 2 cents.

true, Ckolivas has had some time hacking at the driver for the that type of miner though, hence the little better support, but if you don't have documentation on how to talk to the drivers correctly, you're only guessing what each bit is.

since the rbox was based on the Icarus protocol standard, one was able to get the required data out of it, but anything else is just poking a dead horse, seeing if it would twitch.

since rockxie has been all over the amhash thing like a bad rash, he hasn't shown any updates to the software and firmware for these devices for months now, people are looking elsewhere..
603  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 15, 2014, 02:20:07 AM
I've sold every one of my rockminers and am moving on to another companies product. I'd still be running them and buying more if they would have supported the software authors.

i cant just sell mine for the price people want it for, and being "damaged" they would only want it for $25.. so i just have to watch it slowly build up its cost back 50c at a time

well, i thought it was heat causing one or 3 of the chips to fail, hence what looked like 80GHs over the 110GHs, it was that, that was causing the high error rate and low hashing.

but having it run on BFGMiner and watching them hash on it, 3/4 of them couldn't do any better then 50% erring, and they never could do any better then 7.6GHs each.

(pool side with it was only doing 30GHs)

Alright, anyone who has payed in bitcoin to this company, tell us what the address is for the deposit, anyone who has (If Any) successfully withdrawn any btc, tell us what the payout address is.

We are keeping everything low-key for now, until February, when we will be able to shed some light on our operation and clear everything up.

So why won't you even show a single mined bitcoin? Is February when you hope you'll have some equipment to mine with?

Exactly, that is something that the benevolent "partner company" CANNOT hide from the public, since it is in the PUBLIC Ledger, SHOW US THAT AT LEAST Cryptomine.io
611  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptomine.io - SHA-256 & Scrypt Unlimited Mining Contracts on: December 12, 2014, 10:58:26 PM
Second, yes, I can easily prove you wrong and I will. I have already said this a bunch of times, but perhaps not clearly enough. We are under contractual obligation to manage a joint mining operation and not to disclose any pictures or other media materials of the facilities or hardware until the end of January 2015. Come February, we will be free to do whatever we like and this includes moving into a new separate facility.

If you are actually mining, then you have freshly minted bitcoins. Sign such a bitcoin address and prove that it is yours. This gives away no important information, thus you have no reason not to provide such simple verification of actual mining.

They might be mining on other pools, so they can't show fresh minted coins but might show an address which receive payout from the pools and the profile page. Wink

Please show any proof, otherwise, everybody will start assuming you are a poniz. Its your move. Roll Eyes

   ~~MZ~~

but remember, they cant show you any proof, their benevolent "partner company" is stopping then telling you anything about themselves, even though they had information up, but removed it all since it used a photo already on another site, and calmed it a stock "holding photo". Sorry, wasn't in a google image search showing it in Getty images, it was a photo from a news site.

speaking of which, google images on cryptomine.io shows some images of an Andrew Lee, Eric Rosby, Gabriel Sterne and Sergey Yakovlev.

oh, that Andrew Lee guy, looks like Jia Jiang, doing a talk on “rejection therapy.” WDS

Have you gotten anything form them yet?

Didn't know you guys were an item. But whatever floats your boat.
I think you stated your point of view several times on our thread. I respect your opinion and anyone who wishes to see it can do so countless times since the beginning of the thread. But it is just that, a personal opinion based on assumptions and suppositions. I explained our situation and gave a pretty specific deadline for everything. We are not in any rush to go anywhere, as you can tell pretty clearly from the way we conduct our advertising campaign and pace our strategy. We haven't even began accepting anything other than bitcoin. Anyway, thanks again for the valuable input.

Given the implosion of pbmining this week, everyone is on edge, so you are bound to take some heat in the forums. I get the selfridges-style advertising model to advertise your services, but the trade off is that you're going to get this kind of response.  I signed up, but I too consider you high risk as well because of the points Puppet raised. No one is saying you can't continue on, just that you're in the gray-zone for now.

red zone for me, these guys are shunning anyone after some little proof, but claims their unnamed "partner company" is stopping them.
no shoes, no shirt, no money off me. and they don't get anyone Legit status.

615  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: December 12, 2014, 08:15:40 AM
I think something small like Rock Miner did was pretty cool (the 100GH unit). Maybe make a pod like Bitmain...something that does not require a computer PSU to run.
The problem is that there may not be widely available high efficiency power bricks.

Competing with 70% efficiency bricks agains professional miners with 92% efficiency PSUs is hard.

look into, i think Delta's, laptop/desktop external PSUs, they hit the 87-90% but they are a higher voltage DC.
There is also nothing wrong with using a PCIe power adaptor off a desktop internal PSU

OP hasn't been back since making the post, looks like another lame scam attempt.

New account, no signed photo and no mention of escrow, alarm bells are ringing for me.

come to think of it yeah.. and all im doing about it is arguing about it like a dick, some one shoot me
617  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [selling] ZeusMiner HURRICANE X6 9-10Mh/s on: December 12, 2014, 04:05:35 AM

well i better put my bids down.

Ha! there are some 10GHs blades on ebay going for $10 each Wink
619  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [selling] ZeusMiner HURRICANE X6 9-10Mh/s on: December 12, 2014, 02:27:23 AM
and still no one shows me where one could pick up anything under $90 that is over 1.3MHs (aka Blizzard for $79)

Or even better a Hurricane for $90 or even $150, all i found on ebay was some going for $350
18-20 Mh/s - Thunder X6 is going for $469

but no, "i sold a luna (was it a 14MHs one? them same ones you can pick up for $450 new?) for $100" and thinks everyone else should do the same.

seriously, where can i get 10MHs for $100 on ebay? all i see is Blizzards for under $90, and the next level up for just under $500 and x2 the hashing power, there is no middle ground of $100/200.

i think its a fare price for $225 for 10MHs. but no, you had to make the seller feel like a dick for asking that price.
I'm not trying to be a douche, but http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=261689146705&alt=web

fare enough, so it does happen, still see none available now.

i do see: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zeus-Thunder-x3-Used-scrypt-miner-28-30-MH-s-PSU-included/181602150054
