1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Cube Quad for Sale on: May 20, 2017, 04:33:22 AM
I have listed it on ebay here
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/-/252948208483?

If you are able to pay in crypto, I would be willing to accept 40 Eth or 2.3 BTC which is about a $500 AUD discount on the ebay asking price.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Cube fan speed for best operating temperature on: May 19, 2017, 01:27:38 PM
can we change the fan to have lower temp, so we don't get to 70° and the miner don't stop? is any 120mm good enough for this miner? what is the cfm of the fan that you mount on your baikal? thanks

I bought 4x 120mm Coolermaster fans, temps are low 30's mining quark and low 40's (celcius) mining x11.
I bought standard 12v 3 pin (not the wierd Baikal 4-pin ones) and run them straight off my PSU. You can get 12v >9 V resistor cables if you want to slow them down, mine are quiet enough I just left them at full speed though.

Where can I buy? How much is it now?

I have one for sale here. The price is what I paid to Baikal in bitcoin 3 weeks ago.

Sorry I meant paid in April (3 weeks ago) not August. The amount I paid in BTC (3.09) was equivalent to $3900 USD.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Baikal Cube Quad for Sale on: May 19, 2017, 04:36:02 AM
I am selling my Baikal Cube Quad.
My family has been unable to stream netflix or torrent since I spun up the Quad 11 days ago, so I believe my 3-4mbit Adsl connection isn't able to support mining and other normal browsing activities. If you have a similar connection, I wouldn't recommend buying.

EDIT: Sold.

Yep, I'm getting 1220-1260MHs on my chosen pool!
Hers a photo of my modded cube quad, temps are about 33 degrees celcius (91 farenheit)

Powerdraw at the wall as measured by my wattmeter was pretty accurate to specs as well, accounting for some PSU inefficiency
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7 REASONS WHY THE REAL BAIKAL MINER SUCKS !!! on: May 16, 2017, 10:19:16 AM
I've been scammd trying to buy a Baikal A900 Giant (from a third party) and lost a few thousand dollars, so I know it hurts.
That said, I've bought a Baikal Cube and a Baikal Cube Quad direct from Baikal in two separate transactions in April, and although the company was a pain to deal with, shipping was blazingly fast, the products are excellent and hash higher than advertised.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - 5 STAR PRODUCT 1 STAR SERVICE - BAD BUSINESS PRACTISE on: May 16, 2017, 05:31:50 AM
Could anyone please direct me to a guide for allowing remote access to my baikal quad over the internet? I'm going away for 3 months in June for work and there is no way my girlfriend is going to be able to do anything for troubleshooting but hard power cycle it

Also, when I want to manually change pools, I have to change the pool priority on the http setup page, and then execute a hard power restart for it to change pools. Is this for anyone else?

Can y'all turn your baikals off please.
It's fucking with my ROI.
Thanks

What makes this venture fund liquid as opposed to not liquid venture funds?

Uhm... the fact that ownership shares are embodied as ERC20 tokens? Like, really..?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BCAP] THE FIRST DIGITAL LIQUID VENTURE FUND - BLOCKCHAIN CAPITAL FUND on: May 11, 2017, 11:30:30 PM
Shame on you BCAP... 24 hs already passed and the widthdrawal is still initialized... and you launched bcap to the market without making sure you processed all bcap widthdrawals before... NOT A FAIR MARKET WITHOUT ALL PARTICIPANTS.

Quote
BCAP Tokens will be available for withdrawal on May 10, 2017
Withdrawal requests can be made starting at 09:00 pm PDT May 9, 2017
Withdrawal requests made before 08:00 am PDT May 10, 2017 are expected to be fulfilled before 23:59 (11:59 pm) PDT on May 10, 2017
All subsequent requests will be processed on a daily basis on U.S. business days and may take up to 2 business days to process due to security precautions
Two exchanges, Liqui and Lykke will support trading of the BCAP Token in the near future. Trading on Liqui is likely to go live as early as this week

Seriously? is this blockchain or a bank in the 1950s that used horse and cart to transfer money?
Pathetic excuse mate. You have screwed us all, I will put money on it.

Ah, you're the moron fudding in the liqui trollbox, crying to everyone that he missed out on the sweet sweet price of breaking even

Suprnova isn't going too well for me. Some success but then it bombed out. If you find a good dash pool as well please let me know.
X11 hashing is otherwise going well on nicehash
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Quad Cube Review on: May 09, 2017, 12:48:35 AM
Yeah setup was relatively easy.
I've been mining Mue to Bittrex on Weminemue, and X11 on nice hash. FYI speeds on Nice hash now report as 1274MHs, 22MHs rejected. So I can say speed is at least as advertised if not more.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Quad Cube Review on: May 08, 2017, 12:48:02 PM
Measure 259 watts at the wall, while it was doing quark hashing.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Quad Cube Review on: May 08, 2017, 12:33:47 PM
What was the advantage, speed or otherwise in changing the fans, if I may ask?

Not really necessary for noise as I found the 50% setting on the baikal makes the stock fans pretty quiet.
Mostly more for longevity (2 year warranty) and cause it looks balling.
Temps are very low as well, low 30's after an hour or two of hashing.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Quad Cube Review on: May 08, 2017, 12:05:41 PM
Could you send me the link where you purchased the fans? It kinda look funky, LOL!!

Congratulations on being the earlier ones to get the Quad-Cube.

Thanks, these are the fans used

and this is the PSU

Australian site but they should be pretty easy to get internationally. I have a watt meter and I'll get back to everyone with power at the wall soon.

Is it possible to auto-switch algo when mining at nicehash?
Or do you need to manually change to the most profitable algo?

I wasn't sure until about 30 seconds ago when I just noticed it shut down nicehash x11 and went to nicehash quark.. so looks like yes. I have enable-nicehash = true in the miner config page
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Baikal Quad Cube Review on: May 08, 2017, 11:36:54 AM
I managed to get a Baikal Quad Cube on April the 26th. Just managed to ask baikal on skype at the right time they came online, luckily enough I live in the same timezone as Shenzen which helped.
They quoted $3200USD via bank transfer, or 3.09btc (about $3900 for that days rates). The difference was quoted due to the lower price on bitcoin in China.
I sucked it up and paid in bitcoin as I'm not especially familiar with or trusting of Swift payments and banking transperancy.
They told me it would be shipped on May the 12th, but it was actually shipped on Friday the 5th and arrived today, Monday the 8th. I live in Perth, Australia.

This is my first ASIC, though I do some nicehash mining with nvidia GPUs.

The PSU i chose is a Silverstone 650watt, with 80Plus Gold rating. First thing I did was replace the baikal fans with some glowy Corsair ones, just for a little pizazz as I was pretty excited waiting for this. The fans are powered by the PSU, rather than the PWM pins on the Baikal boards. Be aware these are not standard 4-port fan pins.
The ethernet cable is actually running into an AC powerline adaptor, as my router is in the middle of the kitchen downstairs. Connection seems fine at the moment.

I've set up three pools, two nicehash (x11/quark) and a quark Mue mining pool. I'm still evaluating whether I want to mine bitcoin via nicehash, or mine Dash/Mue directly. At the moment I'm trying to hedge against a potential x11 difficulty bomb that might hit when those ibelink monstrosities finally hit in August.
Hash rate on the box says 1230MHs, nicehash is reported about 1135mhs with 15mhs rejected.
Will do some further playing, and happy to try and answer any questions people interested in them might have.
