This is a discussion about Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is ....Huh Here's the thing. Since Core wanted the world to know they created Bitcoin, except for the wise ones, Bitcoin has been rebranded to Bitcoin Core.

Thus Bitcoin Core should be in the alt section.

Bitcoin should have no new threads.

Sounds daft but true.

Hence, if Bitcoin Core is allowed then Bitcoin Cash should also be allowed. Discussion about Bitcoin XT, Classic, Unlimited are allowed.

Bitcoin Cash is a fork from the original Bitcoin chain, the same chain before being rebranded to Bitcoin Core.

There is room for both Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash to coexist together in the Bitcoin forum, since... well... you know... Bitcoin doesn't exist.

Does that mean we will move BTC threads to altcoins when another coin overtakes it's marketcap?   The Current BTC is not the original either...

I don't agree with this view. In my opinion, BCH can't be treated as an altcoin like Ethereum or Ripple. Although there was no chain split, Bitcoin Cash closely resembles Bitcoin and is essentially a clone of Bitcoin. And there is a small chance that BCH may even replace BTC as the top crypto-coin in terms of market capitalization. If that happens, then BCH will be regarded as the "real" Bitcoin.

Then why you are quoting "real"?
There is only one original called BTC everything else is an ALT. That is my oppinion and it must be treated as an alt. Buy the way it is not quite clear if this is BCC or BCH Grin

Any direct Fork of BTC should be included in the Bitcoin Discussion.
No.

Since technically it is the same Bitcoin Ledger up until fork time.
Irrelevant.

And to be honest , None of you really know which coin , 1 MB Bitcoin or 8 MB Bitcoin Cash will be the Champion this time next year.
Irrelevant.

This 1mb bitcoin/segwit/LN is Greg Maxwell's vision and the 8MB Bitcoin Cash is closer to Satoshi vision.
It is not. Stop misquoting (irrelevant) visions.

I don't agree with this view. In my opinion, BCH can't be treated as an altcoin like Ethereum or Ripple.
Of course it can. Just because it has a premine with all existing BTC balances, that doesn't mean that it isn't an alt.

Although there was no chain split, Bitcoin Cash closely resembles Bitcoin and is essentially a clone of Bitcoin.
The chain did split. What are you talking about?

And there is a small chance that BCH may even replace BTC as the top crypto-coin in terms of market capitalization. If that happens, then BCH will be regarded as the "real" Bitcoin.
No.

Does BCH have the longest chain of blocks? X
Does BCH have the most hash power behind it? X
Does BCH have the highest price? X
Does BCH have the most use cases? X
Does BCH have the highest market cap? X

There is absolutely nothing that BCH offers that should make it equal with Bitcoin. It is alternate chain with different consensus rules. It is an Altcoin. It belongs in the Altcoin section.
Perhaps if the above questions change over time this can be discussed again. For now, it belongs in the same place as the other 'Bitcoins'.

BCC has created some confusion among the Bitcoin holders related to split, withdrawal, wallets etc. That is why I think Theymos allowed it to be discussed in Bitcoin board. Else it is nothing more than an altcoin as any other coin else than Bitcoin is simply an altcoin, no matter how much is it related to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Cash is flooding Electrum.  Hate the confusion for true BTC users of Electrum.  Don't get me wrong, I will spend lots of time studying BCC when the dust settles.  Electrum is not the place for all this confusion ---------------------- an opinion here.

Price is a very fickle animal. Bitcoin cash may very well overtake BTC in the future, even if it is for a short period.
Discussing whether BTH is an altcoin or not at that point may be tricky, if we decide to fix price/marketcap as the basis of decision now.

Overtake? why not mate, if someone idiot enough to pay me $2500+ for my BCH I will kiss their asses, what has happened since 1st Aug?

Fees are low and confirmation time is less than 15 minutes. if Wu wants to give his money to pump his altcoin? please let him do it, besides

-ck already said the issue is under control.

That is absolute nonsense. The price is only one factor that is to be considered, and it is by far not enough alone to determine what Bitcoin is or isn't. Bcash, aka BCH can never be Bitcoin. A contentious hard fork, especially one with near zero support before its execution is an altcoin. It does not matter if it has more hashpower later, it does not even matter if Bitcoin in its current state dies. BCH is an, and will remain an altcoin.

Every time BCH mines a block or two, it dumps lower and lower. Cheesy It would be going much down if they didn't have problems with multisignature setups. Due to the lack of wallets that are actually working as intended, for example, I am forced to create a raw multisignature transaction to dump my coins. This has created a significant delay, and the 20 required confirmations on Bittrex do not help either.

Bcc is alto - yes, but its rapid take-off which we can now observe is undoubtedly interesting to users, I believe that this is advisable, and I see no errors on the part of administration

I strongly agree woth op, bcc topic should only remain in the altcoin section. Because It is an alternative coin. And it is kind of annoying seeing it almost everywhere. There was also an instance where two posts/threads had the same questions and the interval was just two hours. I think it was yesterday.  And it is covering up more important posts.

But i think theymos will do some action later on, maybe he's just letting it slide for now because of the recent split, besides, it has a connection with bitcoin since it is the result of the split. I just hope that after this gets cold, it won't stay on the mainland anymore and stay on the altcoin section.
