I'm feeling fairly high on Nassourdine Imavov, which just makes me want to place a moneyline on him....it's fairly tempting. I think he has a good chance, and I'm fairly confident, which usually doesn't end well for my pockets .

Yeah, I don't blame you or anybody with the line currently moving towards the other way making Imavov plus money in this spot now.  There's value on him even though it's kinda small.

Anyway, Mason Jones is in the event too.  Glad to see him back after being shown the door in his last stint with the UFC.

He went back to Cage Warriors had a nice little streak going on over there and the UFC gave him a call and offered him another contract.

His fighting career has been over for a while. It has been pointed out before he isn't the same person he was when we was on the rise. Conor made the most money out of any MMA fighter ever. It took the fight out of him. I can't say I blame him for that though, if I was worth millions I probably wouldn't want to continue getting punched in the face either.

Conor has made the most money in the mma history, and yet he made even more money (allegedly) from that one boxing fight against Mayweather.
Speaking of which, Tom Aspinal's father recently said in an interview that he would very much like to see Tom moving into boxing just for the sake of earning big, quoting the high-level boxing fights can yield a fighter over 100 times more than an mma fight:

Do you think the UFC would allow Tom to have one boxing match, or would he have to wait till his UFC contract comes to an end? I don't think he could earn as much as Ngannou for his Tyson Fury fight, as the novelty factor wore off, but I think there are some profitable options there to be explored.

Big win by Imanov. He was a slight underdog, but he got the job done.
He's currently ranked number 2 contender and I don't think this win will put him on the 1st spot, but he's now well-positioned to get the next title fight against Khamzat. If not the title shot, he could get Sean Strickland (currently number 3) and try to take revenge for the 2023 loss.

A strong UFC heavyweight debut for Ante Delija. He got a 1st round KO on Marcin Tybura, who can be considered a gatekeeper for a heavyweight. This will probably put Delija in the top 10 and he might be only 1 win away from fighting for the belt.

Lol, we have ignored this event or dedicated little of discussion about it, but it turned out to be cool. So many TKOes. I dont remember seeing so many finishes during one event for a long time. Probably its a record.

Now to fight. I want to start with Sola vs McKee fight. Looks like a huge mistake from Herb Deen and early stoppage. McKee really looked like he was ok and defending well.

I only got to see the final round, at that point he was already protecting his lead, knowing he would win except he got knocked out. From the highlights he had a very controlled fight. I do not think he can defeat Khamzat at this time however.

My favorite fight of the night was Benoit and Ruffy. Great game plan from Benoit among the very vocal home crowd for him, he made the fight look very easy. That is how you recover from a loss and throw your name in the hat for even bigger fights.

Overall a very good Fight Night event for the UFC.

It will be a huge upset and a big joke if Maddalena beats or knocks out Islam I can predict that Topuria will quickly lose interest to him. That is why Topuria should start building a background story against  lightweight contenders. He has already conflict against Peddy, but the rest of the division does not hate him yet

Btw, remember when people were hyping Mask vs Zuckerberg fight? Topuria and Tsarukyan are both rich or from rich families We might get mini version of rich vs rich fight

Jack Della Maddalena knocking out or just beating Islam is the worst possible scenario for Islam. I mean, he will be left without a belt and then imagine the bullying from Ilia Topuria when Islam starts begging for lightweight title.
Well, I do not dislike Makhachev. He really took a very risky step in his career but so did Topuria to be honest. Anyways, I would love to see Topuria VS Makhachev, either in Lightweight or Welterweight (but more likely in lightweight because welterweight sounds too brutal and unfair for someone as short as Topuria and as tall as Makhachev).

I had said it here, and they doubted it. Borralho was nervous and couldn't impose his game. I felt that way about him the week of the fight. And as predicted, he lost by decision. But not only him, but Luffy also lost his fight. A terrible card for Fight Nerd.
