FYI, did you know they're selling parts on amazon under the guise of being from MagicGrowing, but when received they're the skinny usb 3 models?

I know I should have ordered direct from you but I had to order something to make it so I could get the financing offer and figured they would be the model you sell since it has your name on it.  Not sure if there's anything you can do about it, just thought i'd make you aware.

The seller I bought from was from California Coaxial Cables

**EDIT - The seller got back to me pretty quickly and said he noticed the mistake and is no longer selling them on that link and offered a partial refund, so it looks like amazon sellers are a lot more responsive than some of the ebay ones i've dealt with.  Needless to say I'll be buying direct when I need more Wink

I try to keep the fraudulent sellers out of my listings, but make sure that when you buy it the listing shows "Sold by Magic Growing and fulfilled by Amazon"  or if it isn't one of my Prime listings, just make sure the seller is Magic Growing.

Sorry about the problems, just return the fraudulent listings and buy from mine, all items in stock! If you tell amazon that you were sent a counterfeit product there will be no charge at all for the exchange.

Hi Rick,

I got one of your powered risers from Amazon. However there is a problem it seems. I have 3 GPUs:

1x Sapphire 7950
1x MSI 7870
1x PC 7850
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
and 2 PSUs 600+430 (80% eff. both)

When I connect any of the 2 GPUs on 16x slots directly to the MB, and 3rd GPU with your riser to a 1x slot 2 things happen:

a) windows start screen appear and after that the display is stuck there.
b) or 3 GPUs are recognized, when installing the AMD driver system crashes, everytime it does that even if I do a clean uninstal/reinstall.

-First thing you might ask, yes, I put your riser on a x16 slot with 1 GPU only, it works just fine. But of course that;s not what I want.
-I installed several versions of AMD driver. Did not work.
-I did the jumping the pins of 1x slot on the motherboard trick..Did not work.
-I tried the other 1x slot..Did not work.
-I reinstalled the Windows 7 and repeated AMD installations...Frustration and about to give up. Sell the cards and return the riser...oh boy.

Thanks Rick. I got your PM. However, let me reply back in here which may be I could be helpful to others as well.  As you said I attached the dummy plug to the GPU which is connected via riser. Right after that the system (Windows 7 x64) recognized it and stable while during normal usage.  However, after a few seconds starting the cgminer, the ATI driver would crash. I tried several versions of AMD drivers, from 12.1 to 14.3beta. Same issues over and over again. Then I gave a chance to the Linux based BAMT (v 1.5 with Catalsyt 14.1). BAMT recognized all the cards from the very beginning. And never crashed once. Although, for some unknown reason my 3rd card fried..But I know that it worked for a few hours. I heard good things about BAMT but the only reason I did not use BAMT before was that I had a wireless adapter which did not have a Linux driver, and I was unsuccessful to emulate the windows drivers under BAMT by using Ndiswrapper.

Bottom line, try dummy plugs if your system does not recognize 3rd GPU with riser, plug somehow makes it stable, and if possible use BAMT.

This is why I tell EVERYONE to just switch to BAMT. You hardly need to learn any linux, and it works great. Much more reliable, no dummy plugs.
