yes, its pretty annoying. been trying to be able to post for awhile elsewhere as well. but restricted because of my post count in this forum. nothing interesting to post on here! 

Id agree, just because we are new to the forum doesnt mean we dont know anything.
it is a goodway to stop people spamming topics joining and leaving tho!

Is it a total of 5 posts that you need to be able to post in the main forum?  I have 6, but it still won't let me post.  Did they increase the number of posts needed?

I dont think it's a good system. It only fills database with lots of junk posts written to increment the post count.

Seems like a good system to me, bit annoying I didn't know this before as I've been a long term lurker. When it came to registering to contribute to something worthwhile - I found I couldn't reply :| oh we'll, lesson learnt.
