How come I can't post??

So I have to write 5 posts before I can write somewhere, this is ridiculous.  How can I think of five things to post when I can't actually post on most of the board?  Should I write some poetry?  Something to amuse you lot?

Also I kept getting this on my very first post:
"The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later."
How can I have posted within the last 6 minutes if I've never posted?

You need one post. And log-ins and attempted posts count which reset the timer.

I'm wondering whether I should post here, to the Newbies section, or attempt to post elsewhere before I have permission? It would probably be a waste of time to try the second one, so should I skip that and just post here, in the Newbies section? Or try it the other way? I'm undecided.

You can only post in here until you're a Jnr member.

The 360 second limit will go away as you reach jr member (15 activity)

The 360 second limit will go away as you reach jr member (15 activity)

It doesn't go away entirely, but goes down each time you get more activity. My timelimit is only 28 seconds now.

I'm brand new here and have been having a hard time trying to find out how to post anything also.  Even here in the beginner forum it appears that I can only REPLY but not make a new post.  Am I missing something here?  I pm'ed the mod but got no response.  Thanks for your help.

You should be able to make new topics. It's on the top right hand side first option: New Topic  |  Post new poll  |  Mark Read  | 

Make sure to search though first as there's a good chance your question has already been answered.

Yes, there was a change on the newbie restrictions and membergroup settings a few days ago.
