mon·ey (noun)

---

cur·ren·cy read as ˈkərənsē (noun)

-a system of money in general use in a particular country.

So, is bitcoin money or currency?
Currency is a system and money is the thing which is being used on that system. Therefore, I think Bitcoin is a kind of both currency and money. Bitcoin is a digital currency in the first place and it can already be used on countries where it is already legal. There's no big difference between a currency and money.

I think its currency and thats why called cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is different than money because money can controlled by central bank and supply always added. Bitcoin is currency because its monetary system like old time but in digital form.

Both this is currency in virtual form and a money which can be convert into dollars..the important thing here is this bitcoin can be users as payments for transactions meaning is a money or currency to buy or pay service.

And my question now is whats the problem with this OP?what confuses you about if what is bitcoin?why not be thankful that you going to use and have this.

I agree on that. I believe that bitcoin is a currency and it is also considered as money because it is convertable to dollars. I believe that bitcoin is both currency and money. It is the most amazing type of currency because everyone can really used it. Many country used it and it is really proven and tested that it give us a huge amount of profit.

bitcoin is currently rated by many regulators as an asset. although its function can be used as a means of payment, but this requires the legality of the government.

in my country bitcoin is forbidden to make payment transactions using bitcoin so I myself only invest with bitcoin and do not make payment with it
there may be regulation about the use of bitcoin as a means of exchange in the future

Because of excessive price fluctuations, Bitcoin is a commodity that facilitate to send and receive value very fastly and secure. In the near future, i believe it will transact like all local fiat currencies to buy goods.

When bitcoin is introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto, It is the new generation of worldwide digital currency that work without administration or centralized bank. By this introduction, the bitcoin is a digital currency. Not a currency or money. But it can exchange the bitcoin to currency and use as money.

It is both because you can use this to buy or shop online. If you are paid in bitcoin this can be converted into a cash. It is a currency in a virtual world. Its not the typical currency that we have.

Maybe Bitcoin is what you want it to be. Different people see Bitcoin differently depending on how they utilise the cryptocurrency.
If you are paying for things in Bitcoin, you are using it as money. If you see it as a store of value that can beat inflation, you probably see it as an asset class similar to gold and so on.

Bitcoin and currency is similar in some aspects but they are totally not the same. Bitcoin is a currency as it was established first however it qualifies as money for it is a digital wallet w/c  is used to purchased goods and to pay bills.

I don't see Bitcoin as a currency or as a money since it is treated as an asset more than a money or a currency. Yes, Bitcoin is accepted and used by some as a payment but because of its volatility and high fees, a lot of them stopped accepting it.

It is a digital currency so it might be called by other people as a currency still for me, Bitcoin is an asset and nothing more.

I agree with you that for many, bitcoin is an asset, and most people use it as a profit, but the number of outlets that accept it as payment also increases. I think we will still come to the fact that we will use crypto-currencies as a means of payment.

In my opinion it's both. The rule of doing it's like a currency, then at the end of the work there is a money.Though money isn't available,it has to be converted.

-a system of money in general use in a particular country.

So, is bitcoin money or currency?

Bitcoin is a currency as of today because there are already a huge online store companies who are allowing a cryptocurrency as a payment method on their business so there is no doubt that we should call bitcoins as a currency and not an asset.
