I talked to a guy at a conference I attended about the BFL fiasco. He claimed they gave up on US sales because of the bad press and set up shop overseas. They mainly sell to Chinese farms now.

This doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, I didn't understand how they could take all their equipment somewhere else either. Why not just move one state away and sell exclusively to foreign buyers. Probably just a rumor. Has anyone seen or heard from them in the last year or so? Could they be selling somewhere else? Do they have a web page in China? One of you must be Chinese because there seem to be so many Chinese on this forum.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Ah, something about leopards and spots and so on... and I quote nitrowolf: "If you're [...] you're doing it wrong". Where have we heard that before...?  Grin

Why do you bother to attack them personally?

They have enough "issues" to point out as it is. No need to insult their children. (or lack of any children?)  Huh

You must be new here... The folks at Butterfly Labs went out of their way to make things personal (doxxing their customers, for example).

Thanks again Chris,

Ah, a $100.000 fine, eh... I mean "deposit for expenses" in the 'Johnson County DA investigative fund'...

It's a (nice) start...

Section 17 "Defendant Butterfly Labs asserts that it has previously offered and paid millions of dollars in refunds to customers who requested them prior to the commencement of product manufacture."

BULLSHIT. What about the time before they started doing that? They were adamant about "all sales final" for MONTHS. And then when they sensed danger, they realized OVER A YEAR after pre-orders were placed that they needed to start providing refunds. Disgusting liars and thieves!

Section 22: "In instances of bitcoin purchases, Defendant shall refund the U.S. Currency equivalent at the time the purchase was made."

Now their whole scammy business model to acquire over 40,000 BTC can't happen again in JOCO. Whoopdiedoo. Scamming scumbags!

I had a thought ....is the FTC going after JUST the BFL corp assets (ie btc)? and the folk that ran this scam's personal btc is protected ..their claim the bfl corp is liable?

if it is just BTC from BFL corp ..hell nothing left unless imho you can get the assets of the principals of the company that mined BTC with equip they held etc

anyway my current 'uh oh' moment of this 'asic soap opera'

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Well:

1. This is a separate (DA vs. BFL) case and not the FTC vs. BFL case. In the case of the FTC; yes, the FTC is "going after" BFL corp. as is the job of the FTC. But rest assured, that does not mean there are no other (criminal and/or tax) cases to be expected against individuals.

2. In this specific case there is some bad news for the principals of BFL as there is a specific clause (33) that states: "this judgement shall not be dischargeable in any bankruptcy court proceeding"...

PS we had a great Saint Nicolas (december 5 & 6) weekend here!  Grin

But hey, i'm the crazy one for doing research and seeing things for what they are. So do the muslims but your all been told it's them lol.

Paris false flag has got UK + others bombing syria now. All because of bullshit ISIS/ISIL - AL-CIA-DA etc etc lol. Who we, Uk, America, Israel, Saudi Arabia fund! Oh yes we do!

Thanks Xian,

In the papers from BFL vs Kansas you can see just how little "shit" we were all full of. They repeated the same terms that we had endlessly talked about on this forum.

See, official documents making fools out of BFL...and forcing them into agreeing to terms of a reputable business.

I am sure there are others climbing out of the woodwork to do the "trolling" for us.

Against Butterfly Labs and Vleisides, the judgment is $38,615,161, which will be suspended upon Butterfly Labs’ payment of $15,000, and Vleisides’ payment of $4,000. Against Drake, the judgment is $135,878, which will be suspended once she surrenders the cash value of all Bitcoins she obtained using company machines.

If I understand this correctly they pay less $20.000 in this settlement? What are the odds of criminal charges against them? Because this looks like a joke to me so far.
