Thank you for your kind words.  This has been a challenge that none have yet faced before.  We wanted to take the time to get it right.

If you have any issue, please repull the repo.

We're making a slight cosmetic change to the wallets and they will be back online shortly.

The work is running and blocks are staking.

For staking purposes, is it beneficial to split balances into multiple addresses? Say for example I have all my XSEED in one address, then after it stakes do I have to wait 24 hours before it is capable of staking again?

New wallets have been provided for both Windows and Linux.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/bitseedsofficialrepository/files/

Please uninstall your old wallet before installing the new one.  The previous blockchain files must be deleted.  Retain your "wallet.dat" file as that will unlock your funds on the new blockchain.

This project is a long term mission. Should the network have been tested such as this and had a larger user base, the results could have been catastrophic.

The previous blockchain has been added to the repo for fungibility and posterity.  Previous commits may be compiled and the blockchain reviewed by any interested party.

2,000,000BITS have been moved to 2 wallets from the BitSeeds Foundation custody amount for staking independently.  Additional amounts may be moved for staking should it be required.

We encourage supporters to please stake their coins.

We cannot fully express our gratitude for your patience and understanding as we resolved this issue.  We look forward to serving you and the mission of the Rainforest Foundation.

This project has no files.

We were a bit delayed in updating the SourceForge repo.

If you have any problems, uninstall the wallet, download the latest version and install it.

Any further problems should be resolved.

I got a runaway exception when I tried launching the new wallet after I installed it.  Had to delete everything in my data folder except for the wallet dat files and relaunch the client.  Am now staking.

Noticed the blockchain got stuck again right after the network weight went from 4k+ to 48 Mil+

Last Block was a hour and a half ago.

It did seem to get briefly stuck around when you posted, but I've been staking for hours and checking it periodically and it's working smoothly now.

Not sure where that screen shot is from, but it looks like they haven't updated yet.

Oh, I see it was from the Bittrex status page. It now lists it as Inactive. I'd still guess they haven't updated yet for some reason; looks like it's trying to communicate with the old network.

Edit:  I tweeted Bittrex about the update.

I'm on block 610, have 5 connections, and am not using a conf file (and I'm not aware of one).

Have you tried relaunching the wallet application and have you tried relaunching after removing everything from the /appdata/roaming/bitseeds folder except for the wallet.dat? The blockchain should resync very quickly.

I'm not having a problem with Bitseeds, but those steps have solved similar problems I've had with other currencies in the past. Hope that helps.

Thanks, but I'm still stuck. Assuming you are running the qt client, could you please go to debug<console and type getpeerinfo. If it's a long list then list it on http://pastebin.com/. If you'll do that then I'll go through the list and make a list of suggested nodes tomorrow and post it back here. Thanks Smiley

The block explorer is showing 13 connections, but there doesn't appear to be any way to list them.

Woah. I'm staking my coins with a fraction of one coin available to spend and the rest locked staking with expected time to reward 16,929 days(!).

Never seen an expected time anywhere close to that high a number. Sure hope that doesn't mean my coins will be unspendable that entire time...

Speaking of staking, would love to be able to do so without running a second OS in a VM. Any ETA on the promised Mac client?

Also, I'm considering recording video tutorials on Bitseeds and doing a giveaway to help continue educating my newsletter's 25,000+ subscribers about cryptocurrency.  I can't do that until there's a wallet application for both Windows and Mac.

Thanks worth, based on your "getpeerinfo", here's a node list than can be added to a bitseeds.conf file for anyone not getting any connections. Also, could the devs please post "getpeerinfo" from the client running the block explorer, then I'll add them to the list ? Pretty please. Also, could a dev please confirm that Bitseeds allows addnode in the conf file?

addnode=165.154.37.19
addnode=54.149.178.155
addnode=52.11.78.176
addnode=74.133.85.14
addnode=52.10.242.143

The reward days doesn't seem to make sense for you. Does anyone else have this problem? I know other people staking with no issues, they are staking 11,000 and it says 8 days for reward.

Now that the blockchain is fixed we have reached out to someone I'm sure you all know to make the Mac wallet. That should be done very soon.

We did reach out to Bittrex to update the wallets and that should be happening soon.

The giveaway idea is awesome and I'm sure Rainforest Foundation will match the amount given away so more people can get BitSeeds. Please PM me I would love to speak with you about this further.

Well, I don't know what happened but I staked all of yesterday then started again 2-3 hours ago and the days to reward jumped up to over 40,000 (!) then dropped to 30K, then jumped around 13-16K but just now it's dropped down to 1 hour and most of my coins are available again.

Really weird, but I guess I won't have to wait decades anymore before having access to them. That's good! Heh.

I'm guessing the Mac wallet will be done by Julian, which is great if so since he signs his builds as an Apple developer, which means Macs with newer versions of OS X are able to run them without changing their security settings. The main focus of my teaching is to help people who are more tech challenged, so the less complication the better.

I just PMed you.

Here's a question.  There is a company with a coincidentally similar named product (Bitseed instead of Bitseeds) and what they make is a low power plug and play hardware node for Bitcoin - but according to this page their new v2 product will be customizable for altcoins:

https://bitseed.org/product/pre-order-bitseed-v2/

I think the project is very cool and am planning to get a Bitcoin node at some point from them, but I'm especially interested in the potential for supporting smaller networks like Bitseeds with hardware nodes like this. The one thing I'm wondering is would this act to stake coins on a POS network like this?  That would be kinda cool.
