hi, i have been trying to get the energycoin raspberry pi wallet going, although for some reason the version of ubuntumate is not operating.
wondering how complicated it actually is to set up the wallet on a pi?

It's not complicated. In fact, we've created an installation script to make it very easy.

It should work. And we know already there are multiple users who have run this script to install EnergyCoin RPI client successfully on Ubuntu Mate.

The version of Ubuntu Mate the script has been made working is 16.04 LTS (rasberry Pi version), with a fresh install.

Several purposes posible not yet dicided but think of
- Burn partly to XEP (EnergyParty)
- Redistrubute to people joining the project with smartmeter for energy sharing in micro grids
- Redistrubute to people joining other projects we work on

We want to use the fund building ENRG community with people outside the crypto world.
They can collect then small ammount of ENRG by joining the ecosystem we build for better envirioment.
For application they need ENRG and to start joining the ecosytem we provide some to attract them.
For actualy building the ecosystems we need cash/BTC but we never shall sell EnergyCoin from EnergyCoin Foundation Fund!

I hope it is more clear now what purpose we have in mind.
If you have other good sugestion plz post them.

Some more thoughts about EnergyCoin project:
I came on  this white paper about Humanic.
And there I saw this figure:

Basicly that is the way we also work but we have a small team of volunteers and butget.
However we achieved EnergyPary platform in testnet and in a few months we launch that.
The present code need development for support EnergyParty and more info about we share soon.
We are always open for sugestions improvements.

We take also the EnergyFoundation wallet offline. The big ECF wallet take a lot of new blocks and now more stake comes available for small holders.
The EnergyFoundation wallet is now tagd in the EnergyCoin blockexplorer see the picture:

The installer downloads also the blockchain but you have to put in the correct folder.

We have solid wall on Bittrex and I can say: You shall regret if you sell your ENRG for that price!
The devteam is working on 4 business cases using www.EnergyExchange.eu and when they are ready to show we shall do.

We work on nieuw codebase that supports EnergyParty in mainnet and we hope to implement some new features too.
More nieuws about that soon

When we have the first 2 usecases avaiable we start marketing and the goal is 2K Satoshi before the end of this year.

I think 2000 satoshi is extremely low. It hit 1000 satoshi today. I think 5000+ satoshi is more realistic.

Impressive price action, think I saw volume over 20 a few times now.   I wonder if the epic debate with bitcoin limits and possible fork is helping the whole crypto market maybe people look at the alternatives realising its not a 1 horse town.  Just a guess, I do think evolution is inevitable and required for success in the wider world.

That can maybe the case but what STT says is also a reason altcoin can grow bigger.
In our team we have Joachim de Koning as advisor and he works on Internet of Coins.
Each crypto ecosystem they can connect so there is room for much more blockcain as now and bitcoin is Bitcoin is just one of them.
That is the beauty of his main project and can realy contribute to decentralisation of currency.
EnergyCoin can grow and I thougt 2000 is a nice goal for this year but I'm happy with 5000 also or more but when I posted is was 400 Satoshi so 2000 was 5x more!
Now 2000 looks not so far away so we shall see.

In the EnergyCoin Blockexplorer I see now more nodes then befor a that is a good sign!.
Each block you find is 5 ENRG and with this price always nice to get.
