i doubt you could get around 18$ for a Jr.Member account! even though it has a higher potential.
The most people want to have a high ranked account so they can earn the maximum at sign campaign's
and not waiting for that!so the potential rank does nobody care!

Lol i'm suprised how far this thread has taken off lol.

I'm almost tempted to sell my account. Just for the BTC and start a new one.

What would mine be worth?

It depends upon supply & demand and your luck when you are going to buy or sell bitcointalk accounts.

Yeah, I've been away from the forum a while and it seems there isn't much demand these days. Prices have dropped. But there's a couple new campaigns that pay very highly for Hero/Senior Members, so that may change.

Check out this thread, it has all of them summed up in one place. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0
While the campaigns are active, accounts are valuable, but you still need to look posting quality also when paying for one.

Even with small amounts of positive trust, I would doubt that a senior would get .4 BTC. There is one person selling a senior account for .23 BTC now.

If you have the time to put in sufficient effort to make quality posts, then now is probably a good time to buy a high ranking account as you would be able to ROI quickly in a pay per post campaign. You probably would have a hard time selling the account for what you paid for it in the future due to "account inflation" as many accounts are ranking up causing additional supply of higher level accounts.

This take on the market dynamic could be correct. However, I'd be curious to see -- similar to BTC and "lost coins" -- how much of this inflation is actually substantively added to the supply. In other words, what % of users actually plan to, or engage in selling their account(s)?

As a trader who has observed a very significant overall departure of BTC speculators from the market, I wonder if what is going on has more to do with an extreme lack of interest in BTC, and in accumulating it.

I think users with high trust ratings shouldn't be allowed to sell their accounts - the only purpose the buyer would have (99% of the time) would be for scamming.

What if they've just lost interest in the BTC scene?

I don't think there's any way of stopping sales and the subsequent abuse of trust. Perhaps there could be some type of voluntary and ongoing pgp verification that the account is linked to the person who earned the trust.

Seems ironic that trusted members of the community would be penalized for being trusted. Tongue Would be a bummer if you needed a quick few BTC and yet, can't sell your account like anyone else can.

these things of search happens on real life all wanna a good house ,a good car,if i said to you take my keys and stay at my home for 2 years?you would reject it,i mean if were the thing you wanted for you? here the same people just search for opportunities and the accounts allows some people with knowhow to make the investment a great return, roi is just a matter of time..... if i would like to be hero today and pay 0.50bitcoins or over it would worth the investment, but i understand the point of the trusted accounts as higher ranks be used to scam others here... already happened and will keep hapening always a scamer looking for an oportunity...but some people with the time pass just loose interest on a thing and go to others interest... these happens always .

I think that has been answered close to a million times already, in this thread alone, real789. Tongue

I think users with high trust ratings shouldn't be allowed to sell their accounts - the only purpose the buyer would have (99% of the time) would be for scamming.

I'm sure that would make it quite inconvenient to sell, as well own, those accounts (and raise their price considerably); but, in the end, it still wouldn't stop those accounts from being sold, unfortunately - nor would it really prevent (at least, shorter term) scams from occurring.

Perhaps there is a "technological" solution to this problem, but I think the best solution is finding a way to encourage and educate users (especially newbies) about the need for them to do their own research and taking adequate precautions when parting with their money, instead of relying on a crutch.

Where did you find info for legendary account sale made? I would love to see the link if it's not a problem.
AFAK there's little or no legendary users that would be interested in selling their accounts since it's ~2 years of life you would be selling. But with users gaining activity each 2 weeks i guess it's possible to
see a sell here and there. But still, 1-2 btc is still low imho.

cheers
