The main object which was undertaken to update the core, was for two reasons, so that future updates can be applied with most current core available. Doing this ensures that we do not need to create a whole new client for POS. If we created a POS client straight away, some of the community may not be up to date with the current new chain, losing BTA which is not good for anyone. There is another code update to come. Then will we update the code to POW / POS for a period of time which is still to be determined as stated by Midnight Miner : "I agree with the idea of keeping a PoW / PoS Hybrid wallet. If the price of Bata remains above 5k even 10k would be nice. Keeping a 1 BTA PoW block reward would help chain stability. There are a lot of Scrypt miners out there looking for something profitable to mine. Would need to a build a math model to see what levels are feasible on both PoW and PoS participants."We will release information regarding the Barter platform developments once a working model is completed. |

It was presented to Poloniex, but according to the community of Poloniex there was no demand. No scam here, no ICO, no crowdfunding, no instant marketcap, no fake trading volume, no price manipulation - just proven proof of work. Once our plan is implemented, then will present BTA in a new light. |

Price is what market makes it.
It is a good idea to take note that BTA has been a profitable coin for a lot of miners and is in many multipools (Data Source : Coinwarz.com).
Miners usually will mine for profit and cash out for Bitcoin, therefore selling at market bid.
Once the POW / POS stage begins we should see the markets react a different way, as it will also be profitable to hold BTA for POS.
It will be interesting to see what price the trading market will place BTA at.
One should also consider that if Bata where to gain 1% of the 20 Billion Dollar Barter Industry, as a "modest" goal, what BTA would be traded at.
