KenChanYu and Ltex taking some profits?  Hope they both full their bags with more coins to keep the price above 15000.

Last time I sold some AUR was over a year ago, buying ever since...

Can you push the price above 30k again just before the OSX wallets are compiled to bring the coin more attention?

Attention from speculators? Not sure that's what the coin needs.

I guess the coin has got so much negative news over the last 1,5 years that a new wallet for Mac will not give it a remarkable price push.

Aurora coin has been created for the islandic peoples, i really didnt knew that! ...But is interesting the foresight of the owner during the finnancial international crise what started to affect worldwide economy since 2008. Them premine was used for help peoples, that's awsome idea and, old or new, Aurora coin remain one of my favourite crypto currencies.

Is this the start of a new pump or sell out now and leave coin for dead? Come on, with such a low supply you have to keep the pumps coming for AUR.

Play fair. It's the trade talk that has helped get this to 18 pages, if we were just talking about development this ANN would be on page 1 discussing OSX compiles.

Can you send me a pm if the news is not good . I have over 40k coins I will need to offload before the likes of KenChanYu and ltex dump out.

I had 2 PMs like the one above, I will be posting the feedback in public for everyone to see, whoever is online at the time I post will get to read it first. This is only fair so please don't PM me again to ask for this.

I have made contact with a government official in Iceland and will be mailing her all the details about AUR and if it will be legal to implement the ISK/AUR exchange. I will be mentioning you can use AUR to buy bitcoin but also that it will be used mainly for use in Iceland. Should have answer back next month, I will also be giving the details of the 3
foundation members. Once I have feedback from her I will inform the community to let you know what the real situation is so you more informed.

Please can the foundation members PM me your numbers and email addresses so she can get in contact with you to find out more information.

Pétur Árnason (IC) - Chairman of the Aurarad foundation
Hermann  Finnbjörnsson (IC) - Boardmember of the Aurarad foundation
Hlynur Þór Björnsson (IC) - Boardmember of the Aurarad foundation

Will this email address aurarad@aurarad.is be fine ?

Since this has been a topic of discussion:

Our lawyer sent letters to the Central bank and the FSA because we want to run a cryptocurrency brokerage business/exchange in Iceland trading, buying and selling etc.
These two letters are the formal letters from the Central Bank and the FSA in Iceland that our lawyer received.

The first letter is from the Central Bank and signed by the Deputy Governor.

Notice the beginning of the last two paragraphs:

"Laws do not require you to get any license to do business with cryptocurrency"

and

"Currently there are no laws that will call for government intervention regarding business like you describe ".

This is the formal letter from the Legal department of the Financial Supervisory Authority

Notice the last paragraph in yellow "Doing business with crypto does not require any license from the FSA"

Why is bitcoin illegal in Iceland but not AUR or is bitcoin not illegal based on the above? AUR is really a bad clone of bitcoin but inherently performs the same function. Once you in the system you can bypass exchange controls. I believe this is what the user wants to find out.

Bitcoin is not illegal in Iceland. What is illegal is buying USD for ISK, to buy Bitcoin. It's the currency controls! This is also the reason for Auroracoin. The people here were given Auroracoin, they didn't have to buy it for USD.

If you want to use Bitcoin to bypass the currency controls, you can also just buy fish in Iceland and export it for USD or EUR.  You can also open a hotel in Iceland and accept USD and EUR.

Same rules apply, you have to return the currency you make from exporting commodities or providing services back to the Icelandic banking system.

In Iceland Bitcoin and Auroracoin are considered to be commodities like gold and silver, which can act like a currency but are not currency!

Has there been a statement on VAT?

You know, every time I see "ISK" mentioned it

Regarding the VAT issue. The Icelandic tax that handles VAT in Iceland has these rules on their website: https://www.rsk.is/atvinnurekstur/virdisaukaskattur/skattskylda-og-skattprosentur/nr/100 use google translate.

The most interesting and clear thing on the site is the text in the beginning explaining that you have to pay VAT for all sales of commodities, products or services when it's part of your commercial business.

Then they declare what is not a commodity: "Stocks, bonds or other such business papers, such as coins and stamps, when its used as a means of payment but not for collecting or as printed commodity"

From this I gather you don't have to pay VAT when you buy/sell Auroracoin for the purpose of using it as a means of payment.

But you have to pay VAT of the things you buy using Auroracoin, i.e. you buy a "hot dog", for 1 AUR and the seller of the "hot dog" has to pay VAT just like if you bought it with ISK.

Regarding the ISK.... more people (340.000) use ISK in EVE online than use ISK in Iceland (320.000).

Can Auroracoin become Iceland's biggest source of revenue?

Aurora coin is a precious commodity found deep in the heart of Iceland's volcanoes. This heat rises to the surface and is used as geothermal energy to warm homes and power electric generators on the island. This electricity then gets used up by thousands upon thousands of computer processes dedicated solely to a task known as "mining" in the crypto currency world. The government can invest in its own mining of aurora coin in Iceland and be in a brilliant position where the low price of power can give them a discount.
