NEW OSX and Windows Wallets are released!

You can download them @ http://auroracoin.is

Direct download links:

Windows Wallet
Mac Wallet

This is the first of a series of new releases you can expect from your development team in the next few weeks. We expect the IOS wallet (that can be tested as stated by LTEX a few posts above) to be released in the App Store soon. Although it's very hard to pinpoint any exact dates, please have a look at our roadmap to see what we have in store...

Even worse is more than 50% of the current coins are on 2 adresses?  Shocked
Are those 2 adresses premine adresses?  Huh

De 1e is het adres waarop de overgebleven pre-mine is vernietigd, de 2e is het ontwikkel fonds van de Auroracoin Foundation (net zoals het CPF bij Guldencoin)

The first one is the address where the remaining pre-mine was burned, the second is the reserve for the Auroracoin foundation (like the CPF fund that Guldencoin uses)

Three out of five of the others are exchanges and I know who the other two belong to...

You guys need to change that because it gives the wrong idea to newcomers.
Furthermore how can I be sure it is burned because it is still listed on the richlist, you know what I mean  Wink
Who is the caretaker of the second reserve premine address?
3 out of 5 are exchanges, do you know which exchanges belong to those addresses?
The other 2 are most certainly of you, Biomike or ny2cafuse just by reading the thread.

How can I be sure you guys are serious with this coin and not hyping it to dump the large amount of coins you guys hold?
What are the plans in reaching the folks of Iceland?

Good questions Barry (I presume?),

The first part we unfortunately can't change, especially as part of transparency it can't be "deleted" from the blockchain. The fact the address is: AURburnAURburnAURburnAURburn7eS4Rf will proof (at least to knowledgeable crypto people) it's transferred to an address that can't possibly exist with a usable private key (needed to access the wallet). It would take multiple quantum computers to do so, and they don't exist yet ;-)

The caretaker of the second address is the official Aurarad foundation. This is an Icelandic foundation that is officially registered in Reykjavik that has the primary goal to support general adoption of cryptocurrency (especially Auroracoin) in Iceland. You can read more here: http://www.aurarad.is.

The exchange addresses are from Cryptsy, CEX.io and BTER

The other 2 addresses are from members of this community. I will not disclose who, I am not one of them, that I can tell.

I cannot ensure you we won't do what you might fear, we can however prove to you over time that we mean serious business. Most of us have been here from day one and I personally have had more than enough chances to sell out on this coin (NLG as well btw). The fact we still haven't and are still investing massively in development and adoption should speak in our advantage...

Maybe another thing to assure you is that all developers are listed by their real names. As active and participating member of the Guldencoin community I have been in multiple real life meetings with other members and developers (including meetings at my office) and so have the other Dutch members of our team. I don't think that would be custom behavior for people planning to scam things.

AURburnAURburnAURburnAURburn7eS4Rf is a typical burning address. It's quite clear that noone knows a key to that one.

I agree it should probably be removed from the richlist. It would also be good to remove the 5,344,628 AUR from total supply.

The top one address 42.94% of coins: AURburnAURburnAURburnAURburn7eS4Rf is the AUR burning address of the premine that was not distributed in the airdrop.
The second largest address 8.03% of the coins: AQyyFHj2SSTKh7aMLVP9P4vzgq6yQJdBFW is the address for the Auroracoin foundation (Auraráð), which will be used to promote Auroracoin.

Good to see some development but what exactly was changed?

Code base has been updated to 0.8 litecoin code base, new UI and a new list with active seed nodes (to help people download the block chain more easily). Check the github repo for details (it's all in there).

Most of your questions can be answered by the OP and http://auroracoin.is
As far as I know there are no places outside of Iceland to pay with AUR, but in the dev team we hope to get some international oriented Icelandic based companies to accept AUR for their international payments in the future. This as part of the plan to get more AUR flowing back into the Icelandic economy.
