Finally got my AUR back from Cryptsy, but had to withdraw in a lot of 5k chunk, so losing 0.5% each time.  Cryptsy is now in obivous criminal mode - using any trick to drain funds into their direction.

NO, just fill your name for level 1 verification and you can withdraw more in an hour than you will earn in your whole life.
Cryptsy is just fine, growing stronger.

I'm level 1 already. Can't withraw more then 5000 AUR per transaction - and about 100 000 per day. The ''per day'' limit is not a concern. But when i tried to withdraw more then 5000, i was still getting out only 5000, but my ''per day limit'' was affected by the total amount i was asking at first. So the only way to get out was to do it in a lot of little 5k chunk.

And pay the 0.5%

Well, I am not big fan of national coins, but if there is one with potential to succeed than it is AUR...

Bittrex contacter.

Now it's a race between Bittrex and Poloniex !

During this time, Cryptsy still running and 30 000 AUR changed hand the last few minutes.  Up to 10 000 satos.

Has been a good week,

Have fun

AUR has no chance of getting onto Poloniex . The owner has even said they don't like countrycoins, if we get on Polo it means a community or team member bribed them.

Go straight for bittrex. Don't waste time on Polo.

So I've heard. But we've been on it before, and with new development and higher volume coming along, they might change their minds anyway!

Meanwhile I have been testing Cryptopia.co.nz and they really have a good exchange going. Only petty is that they lack large volume...

Personally I really would like to get us onto Bittrex.com, so if you all can send them a request, that would really help! TNX!

Let's say the icelandic exchange start rolling, people start trading/testing Aur/Isk.

We can expect some new Aur miners, workers. But then, people will ask, ''what can i buy with Aur?''.

Actually, there is nothing to buy with Aur, and it's not a problem. But soon enought, someone have to wonder how to allow merchand to accept Aur directly as paiement. I know there is many options out there - but in your opinion guys, what would be the easier way to get there ?

Sell a product is easy when it is good and there is a need for. I suspect the need will be there soon - i wonder what would be the best product for such purpose.

Cryptsy is NOT fine. The problem is not the withdraw limit, it's that withdraw operations on many coins (most importantly bitcoin) get 'stuck' for days on end in state 'pending'.

With AUR most of the time withdraws are capped to around 5k AUR.

I've been testing them too. Looking good enough.

Just as you said: no liquidity. I'm guessing the orderbook is made by something like 2 or 3 people max.

So hop over there guys, let's make a market.

Personally I really would like to get us onto Bittrex.com, so if you all can send them a request, that would really help! TNX!

what channel do you suggest to send them the request through?

Ask coinmarketcap to add Cryptopia to their market cap calculation for Auroracoin using this form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1IZf5cBivam_93zENT_arFFuvWDidHGjWxoTMVmFSoWg/viewform

Or go to coinmarketcap.com and scroll to the very bottom for the Request Form link.

Can someone fact-check this before I send it to bittrex?

Quote
Auroracoin is looking for a new home

You surely have noticed the initial hype around the invention of the first countrycoin: Auroracoin roughly 2 years ago. The bubble (partly on misunderstanding or false info that Iceland would officially use Auroracoin) was intense and many lost/won lots of money. It wasn't exactly pretty and the initial idea behind the coin got a little bit lost. There were high hopes that the small number of Icelanders would adopt the currency. Those hopes haven't come true as of now.

When the dust settled after the crash only some hardcore believers remained. It was not an easy time for the coin, of course it had made some furious enemies and scam accusations were frequent. Finally in early 2015 Balduro, the inventor who had left the project, made true on his promise to burn the remaining premine according to the initial 'airdrop' plan to distribute the premine to the population of Iceland. So yes, this coin is premined heavily, but the premine was largely given to the population of Iceland. There were likely some exploitable holes in the process which involved a system widely used in Iceland for identification of citizens (kinnatalia), so probably some of the premine also went to criminals. My personal hope is that most of that got sold off to "speculators" (not a bad thing!) and/or believers.

A group of people is working hard (I'm not part of that group, though) within the country of Iceland to establish roots for the usage of the money in Iceland, which is the primary goal and (for many) the exciting prospect of this experiment. The country is small and ladden with monetary problems. They've been fucked hard by the banksters and their Krona is suffering higher-than-average inflation traditionally. They also have strong capital controls in place. The group is talking to people in politics and also to merchants. They received 1 million AUR from the premine (the only part that didn't go the population) which they didn't dump during the last bubble when the rest of the premine was burned. They made sure AUR was legal in Iceland by asking their Central Bank and have official answers regarding this. Auroracoin is legal to use in Iceland.

Now they are buildind a AUR/Krona exchange for the people in Iceland, the legality of which they also ensured. It will not be accessible for people who are not citicens of Iceland. I strongly believe a cryptocurrency - even if supposed to be rooted in the population of a country - needs a liquid global exchange versus BTC.

That's where you come in: cryptsy (which has traditionally been the most liquid AUR/BTC exchange up to now) isn't doing the job reliably enough any more (you probably know of the 'withdrawal'-problems there), so AUR is looking for a new home.

Please let it be bittrex!

I have been doing that for years, since the beginning of AUR and I want to continue...

Now I'm being kept from doing that because of cryptsy starting to fail or whatever.

What is the volume of AUR/BTC on ExhangeD.i2p?

Excellent text, molecular - great job. Conqueror, please don't assume what is true for you is true for everybody !   The background of a money is very important for many in the business. As an exchange, you don't want to jeopardize your name helping some scammers get some quick profit on the back of your loyal customers. And in Aur case, some explaination may not hurt, and Molecular did it well imo.
