Has he even been seen on IRC lately ?

No.  According to the server, pirateat40 has been idle 68hrs 36mins 42secs, signed on Fri Sep 07 08:55:46

Something tells me that he will make an appearance tonight.....

Because of the phone call?

What phone call ?

I was simply referring to timing....and the fact that there hasn't been an update recently.

As I know nothing about the workings of IRC, is that stat server-wide ? or for a specific channel ?

that's freenode wide.  He uses a thing called an IRC bouncer, which gives him an IRC presence even if he doesn't specifically have an IRC client connected.  IRC is one of those things that if you aren't connected, you miss out on what is said.  You have to be there real time.  A bouncer is sorta like an answering machine.  It stays connected so you don't have to and then when you're online, it "bounces" the messages you missed to you so you can catch up.

The idle is reset when he says something.  When that script for accounts paid was going, it actually would keep resetting the idle counter because his client was saying something, even though it was automated.  Now that the script isn't working/turned off, the idle counter is more accurate.

he's still checking the forums.

...that's what I am hoping...and if I ask REALLY nice-like, perhaps I will get paid.

It would really suck for him to break the trust that so many people have had for him over the past months.
Maybe he's trying to teach us all a lesson ? ...and he will re-appear, like the second coming of christ !

Let's all pray to Satan or whoever we chose, that pirateat40 returns with all of our lost bitcoins and has stories of a grand adventure to tell us all once he has returned.

He checked the forum about 13 hours ago, so I believe there is still hope and if he returned, I would great him as a brother.

I heard he will have his own presentation at bitcoin conference in London to tell everybody how his con was prepared and executed from the day 1. Then he will thank everybody who participated and will vanish to his Caribbean island. Cool

If that was ture (which I am sure it is not) I would bet (and not making a BTC bet just saying) half the audiance would be kicking his ass in about 30 seconds after he introduced himself.  Now that I would like to see on UTube

Well, he obviously deserves it.

Reputation in this community, other than a forum scammer tag, affects very little in the grand scheme of things.

Not only has he shown how smart he is by exploiting people's weaknesses (greed, stupidity, tunnel vision) but also how even though his 'reputation' is completely in the crapper, that he can still have a thriving and successful secondary Bitcoin Business up and running with zero interference from those who can affect him, yet chose to remain on the side lines.

The guy is slowly becoming my hero, rather than being my enemy.

Well, you tell me. GPUMAX seems to be up and running, as if it were 'business as usual' and the people that have the power to change that are either doing nothing, or continuing to do exactly what they did before this shit storm took place.

Asking miners to leave GPUMAX would be a losing battle and a waste of time.

Asking Pool Ops to block GPUMAX would be the easiest to accomplish and the quick work of the few can affect change in the many, yet leaving the GPUMAX combined hashing power of all it's current users in the hands of a known scammer doesn't seem like that big of a deal to anyone that is in a position to do anything about it.

So, YES. Trendon is smarter than many people in this community and is laughing at us all as I write this.
