If you get an error when starting your shellnode follow these steps:

  • shut down the wallet
  • change masternode=1 to masternode=0 in conf file and start wallet again
  • send the 25,000 SHELLS to a "fresh address" in your wallet. And in console use: dumpprivkey "fresh address"   to get the masternodeprivkey
  • copy the new privkey and shut the wallet down
  • in conf change the mastenodeprivkey to the new key you just got and masternode=0 back to masternode=1
  • start the wallet back up
  • make sure you have 7 confirms on your masternode address and in console type: masternode start

Hmm...

if I remove masternode addr it gives another error

Masternode:unknown, check debug.log

If I use this format, instead

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=myuser
rpcpassword=mypw
server=1
listen=1
port=12454
masternode=1
masternodeaddr=(omissis):9999
masternodeprivkey=(omissis)

.. it gives this one:

12:58:36 masternode start

12:58:41 not capable masternode: Could not connect to xx.xx.xx.xx:9999

It seems to me just a port error

Those two should be the same...
port=12454
masternodeaddr=(omissis):9999

Change masternodeaddr=9999 to 12454

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=myuser
rpcpassword=mypw
server=1
listen=1
port=12454
masternode=1
masternodeaddr=(omissis):12454
masternodeprivkey=(omissis)

Can anyone tell me if/how you can send the coins you earn on your masternode without messing up the masternode 25000 input? I just tried and failed so setting it up again on a new wallet but would like to not have to do that every time  Undecided

Maybe this is what I messed up.  I think I tried to send a block of 50 that wasn't confirmed yet so it grabbed some from my 25K block.

I've heard of people using coin control but I don't know the commands for that.  Can anyone give me an example of how to use it and not grab the 25K block?

Also I was trying to use the block explore to figure out exactly what happened but it does not go to those transactions.  So seems block explorer is not working or not up to date. (I tried again after waiting hours still nothing so something is up.)

go to setting - options - display, then check show coin control, then try click send, there will be an extra option to choose input..

Since getting into Cryptocurrency I've had many bags, all but two have varied over time.  Those are the two I see in the mirror where my eyes once shone.
