For true devotees of Bitcoin, the price of the digital currency is almost irrelevant. They believe in its inherent value or, more frequently, cannot see any value at all in the alternative of government issued fiat currency. Price is therefore not a concern. At the other end of the spectrum, for those that harbor what appears to be an irrational hatred of Bitcoin and anything to do with it, the exchange rate also matters little. They were screaming that it was all worthless when the price was at over $1000, and somehow convince themselves that an exchange rate of over 200 times what it was before that bubble proves their point. For the vast majority of people somewhere in the middle, however, the price of the currency in Dollar, Euro, Yuan or whatever terms is important.

Just like you said. "For true devotees" it might be almost irrelevant. But who are these people? If the price doesn't matter then they just keep BTC and don't use it to buy anything? Because if they do then they would still compare the BTC price with USD and it would matter whether it costs $200 or $300. For me price totally matters, because I use Bitcoin to pay for rent (I exchange it to local currency).

BItcoins price matters only because others will not respect it equally if the price is low. I mean okay I would still save some 10 bitcoins for future if the price if 100$ or 1000$ but people around me will not respect me that much if I am saving something that has just 100$ worth actually.

In the past with bitcoin low cost and low value under 1 dollar sure the most people didnt care about it at all, but nowadays bitcoin value its 700 dollars, and saying the price wont affect them isnt true, sure if you wanna to buy something with bitcoin you will buy doesnt matter if cost 200 or 400 dollars.

yeah you're right. bitcoin has actually grown in a very short time and we here definitely are watching the movement of bitcoin's price. who would've thought that it would be this high and i think it's not going to stop here. 2017 is looking to be very promising for bitcoin users.

I think it depends on how people use bitcoin. For making a purchase or sending money, it doesn't really matter what the price is because you can convert from fiat to bitcoin and back to fiat. However, if you save bitcoin as an investment hoping the price will increase, then obviously the price would matter.

How come it does not matter when it comes on buying something? Lets suppose something i want to buy costs $50 and i have bitcoins and fiat both, while if i buy it with fiat i will have to give the exact amount, but if i have bitcoins too and tomorrow the price of bitcoin goes up to some percent then the amount that was equal to $50 yesterday would be equal to $80 today, wont that give me a saving of $30? Of course it will, that is why the price of bitcoin is all that matters basically.

By the term 'the price matter' mean that the fluctuation and stability of price it means that how the price affect the bitcoin and its community. There are two conditions in price like the price will either stable or will fluctuate so we cannot say 'bitcoin regardless price' if something exist then the value/price of it exist and the same is with bitcoin.

You are right because people like me who earn their livings by working as a freelancer are dependent on the price of bitcoins. Though we save some bitcoins for reward later but still the thicker amount of bitcoins are sold by us because that is what we are dependent on.

For a lot people it does actually matter. I have seen quite some people complaining about the fact that just after they spent their coins, that the price has gone up significantly. It makes them regret having spent their coins which will result in them not so easily spending their coins another time.

However, if you save bitcoin as an investment hoping the price will increase, then obviously the price would matter.

Sure, it matters in the case that it's nice to see the price go up as that is what we all try to achieve. But if I look at myself when it comes to holding my coins for the long term, the price going down does not affect me. I am all focused on my targets where short term lower prices can't change anything to how I think about my long term investment.
