Running v 1.1.0 on windows 10, 64 bit.

On opening the wallet the following error message appeared:

Quote
Siad not found

Sia-UI couldn't locate siad. Please navigate to siad.

How do I navigate to siad?

I've still got v. 1.0.4 installed, which still works.

Should I uninstall v. 1.0.4? Is that what's causing the error?

I have had v.1.1.0 installed for some time and up until now it's worked fine.

Thanks in advance for any advice Smiley

To use a newer version, can I just copy the consensus and wallet folders to the newer client?
Seems to hang on 'loading transactions pool'.

Edit: never mind, copied the transactionpool folder as well.
Edit 2: hm, now it hangs on 'loading miner'. Also, where does the latest Sia-UI keep its files? It doesn't seem to put them in the /resources/app/Sia/ folder.

It has been puzzling me singe the beginning of time. Where is that directory? And why an access to it is restricted to non privileged users by group policies? Nobody knows the answer, and only u can decipher that enigma as u are the smartest member of this community.

I think you should simply copy the whole install directory.

I stopped logging into Bitcointalk quite some time ago. I've mostly been active on forum.sia.tech and on our slack (slackin.sia.tech for an invite). Definitely been around though. Someone recently added a bot that posts the bitcointalk posts to our slack, which is what made me realize that people still post here frequently. I can't promise that I'll be super active or answer every question, but if you do want more attention from the broader community you'll find a lot of support on the forum and in our slack.

@Taek
He answers any questions in slack-sia and does not have to be trolling anything, just write when necessary as now. Investigate first

Sia v1.1.1 Released:

https://forum.sia.tech/topic/888/sia-v1-1-1-released

Graphical Client: https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-UI/releases/tag/v1.1.1
Command Line: https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia/releases/tag/v1.1.1

"We are proud to be releasing Sia v1.1.1. There are two significant updates in this release. The first is that the file uploading process is much more scalable. Our previous release (v1.1.0) boasted greater than 200mbps upload speeds, but would slow down after the first 50-100 GB had been uploaded. This release will not slow down until well past the 1TB mark, so long as each individual file is smaller than 100 GB. This release also features improvements to the download speeds.

The other significant change is in the hostdb. Previously, hosts would often not appear in the hostdb, or the hostdb would shrink for no reason. Now, the hostdb is much better at tracking hosts and not losing them. Also, the host ranking system has been improved.

Please note that when upgrading, the first time you open the new version may take several minutes. It can take up to 10 minutes on an SSD and up to an hour on an HDD.

With that out of the way, we are turning to our next major update: instant wallet unlocking. We hope to have this ready in the next few weeks. When instant wallet unlocking is in place, the RAM consumption should also drop by an estimated 500MB, making Sia more friendly to resource-constrained machines."

I've searched a little, but haven't read all the 222 pages..
I'm trying to mine with ccminer from KlausT v8.05 on windows10 on suprnova pool

Code:
ccminer.exe -a sia -e -d 0 -o stratum+tcp://sia.suprnova.cc:2786 -u Joffer.worker -p x -i 23

But the result is this:

Quote
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] Intensity set to 23, 8388608 cuda threads
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] Starting Stratum on stratum+tcp://sia.suprnova.cc:2786
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] NVML GPU monitoring enabled.
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] 1 miner thread started, using 'sia' algorithm.
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] Stratum difficulty set to 1
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] Stratum notify: invalid time parameter
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] Stratum authorize answer id is not correct!
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] Stratum authentication failed
[2017-03-01 20:37:07] ...retry after 30 seconds
[2017-03-01 20:39:04] CTRL_C_EVENT received, exiting
(last line when I press CTRL+C)

Is this a known problem? and an easy fix?
