I`m doing a research about faucet popularity/preferences and i need you guys to help me with this. Most of you guys use faucets regularly so please answer from your guts/preference, which one are you most likely to do. My goal is to explore the preferences of the bitcoin users, and to understand what faucet users like. This research will also help existing faucet owners to improve their faucets, which is highly encouraged since most faucets are sloppy and badly designed.

So please fill out the survey below, and then check out the results so far, it's all public!

The Survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SBSJPXJ

(Note: this is not a paid survey, I dont get any money from it, it is only for research and education, but if you want to thank me, please consider donating in the address below )

Results so far:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/results/SM-CGNNB9ND/

Thank you guys!  Smiley

Just done it and hope it helps. However will you really pay us at least 1000 satoshis per hour? This may lead to bankrupt of the faucet easily.

Based on another research, 1000 satoshi / hour is the current average +- 200 satoshi. So most faucets do pay that much.

But faucet sites are not very efficient, they position the ads in a very crappy manner and they waste alot of website surface space. Thus they could have more income and could pay more, if they would have basic HTML skills.

Thanks for help!

Yes i might release it to the public, so that current faucet owners could tweak their site based on this, but it would also be a competitive edge for me so i`m not sure if i would release all info.

Thanks for participating!

put a game inside it, this will attract more viewer and more players,, maybe start with something from 500s, then the game let you increase it to 1k and above

you need something that keep the interest of people when they are visiting your faucet, gamining is the perfect choice

Agree with this.
Maybe try something like http://farmsatoshi.com/ but with different game and different system.

Done. I dont really understand Question 8. I wonder how can a faucet steal our Bitcoin.. I'm from the 'Cyber City'.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

No stay clear of these types of scam sites.

A faucet should get the basic things right :

1. Award the users for their time. {You as a user, spend a fraction of your time, to increase the faucet owners income.. He should acknowledge that, and pay you accordingly} The higher the web traffic to his site, the higher his income.
2. The payment should be on time. {Your system must be flawless... if you fail, people will leave}
3. Make the Captha solving part, as easy as possible. {Lately one of my favorite faucets implemented a frustrating NEW captha system, and I am thinking on leaving them}... I do not want to struggle...
4. Your site should be clutter free. {Too much extra bells and whistles will irritate and confuse users}
5. Make the signup EASY and FAST
6. The faucet MUST have a good referral system.

These, in my opinion are the MOST important building blocks for a successful faucet.

Yes indeed, those websites attract alot of users, and they stay active for a long time, however, most of the faucet users, just want a quick
write & pay option. Many people are eager to get paid, and they dont like to keep 1000x usernames and passwords around for varous websites.
An easy faucet is just your bitcoin address + catpcha = instant payout, i think most faucet users prefer instant payout types.

However , if we could combine the 2 that would be awesome.

i have done the survey, too. hope it helps. can you provide some more infos about your goal of the research activities?

Yes thanks, i`m researching the psychology & demographic of the faucet users, so that i can later create my own faucet that can provide all the wishes of the faucet users. I`ll also need it for advertising later on, to know from which country are the most faucet users.

Done too

Not yet, so far i`m doing this research, and for good accuracy it will need atleast 100 participants, so far only 9 people filled the survey, so please other people help with this research Smiley

Done. I dont really understand Question 8. I wonder how can a faucet steal our Bitcoin.. I'm from the 'Cyber City'.

Any website can steal your bitcoins if you are holding your bitcoin in an online wallet, many websites have at best adware (annoying virus that puts ads on your pc) and at worst some keylogger that steals passwords to your online wallet.

So if you use Blockchain.info or something like that, and your bitcoins are hold there, you should be careful with those sites because they can steal the password easily. Also an up-to-date powerful antivirus is very recommended when using faucets.

I`m just analyzing how risk taking or risk averse ,in general , faucet users are.

i filled it. i hope it would can help to you.

Thanks , and thanks for everyone else who filled it!

Ah how about a game like "typeshark" you can earn btc when you type a correct word(maybe amount of earning per 1 word is low) that's just my opinion.
But looks like your plan is build a ordinary faucet which make a faucet users feel comfortable.

There are some browser based games now that are even better than faucets because it's easier to keep track of.  Plus it's a game so it's sort of fun and cool.
