I think it should be self-sustaining since users pay their own transaction fees and sign up through reddit. I've asked exactly what his plans are, maybe I should ask your question...
0.25 btc sounds like an awful lot.

0.25 BTC isn't much for a VPS or dedicated server especially. It would cover probably a year of costs on a decent VPS. You can buy credits for AWS on the digital goods section of this board, and get a year or so worth of time on Amazon VPS for $5-10. If you get a server, I'll probably help you get the bot up and running.

That's good, he mentioned that some trusted party would need to run a VPS. But what exactly are we paying for to require ~$150 to implement changes to code. You have more experience to me, what needs to be done that requires this kind of money?

Afaik nothing needs to be done to code, so if you're already paying to host the server it's not worth it in my opinion. Tippero is open source on GitHub. You just need VPS, build and sync daemon, install tippero (which is kind of a pain the butt), install redis database, and run the bot.

This is the problem though. I have no experience or knowledge of coding but I don't have any other offers from any other coders. Can you help me out in anyway? Running a VPS together would be a good idea. Also, would we need a coder working on the project regularly to ensure there are no bugs?

If you get a VPS I'll help you set it up. There's really no coding involved, just some Linux command line stuff. I think any major bugs would have been identified by now since the bot has been running as monero's tipbot for over a year now.

okay, i will look into getting a VPS (no knowledge about this kind of stuff) and let you know on this forum soon. i might be repeating, but I have no idea about coding so you would have to manage all of that. Just to let you know.

You don't need Linux, but VPS should be Linux, Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04 i guess.

VPS comes with Linux. And Linux is free anyways, but a VPS is a virtual private server, typically with Linux installed (you can get with Windows, but why). There was a guy selling $200 AWS credits for $4 in btc in the digital goods section yesterday. That would run it for a year. Then just give me ssh key for your server and we can both access it with putty or whatever.

So let me confirm one more time: I will buy the VPS, you will make coding changes and then the tipbot will be ready. Can i have two operating systems on one computer? (linux + windows)

Also, do you have any clue about where the dev is? He hasn't logged in for almost 2 months now.

No clue where dev is. I'd suggest make an account on AWS. Buy a code like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1596689.0You should be able to run a micro instance for a year for $10 or less by buying a promo code like that here. Then you can give me access to your account, or just access to an instance/VPS that you set up (please use Ubuntu for OS if you set up an instance). You can run two OS on one computer, either as dual boot, or run one as a VM inside the other, but you don't need to have Linux on your computer to have Linux on a VPS.

Seems like a good idea lol.
A website has now offered to include DigitalNote as a payment processor (litebit.eu) This means people will be able to buy things for XDN.
I think because of the monero pump all the crypto notes are going up.
