Question: Before PoA, do we need merged mining?
Merged mining is a good idea
We do not need merged mining
We need only PoA
We need both merged mining and PoA

since polo took off a couple of my favorite trading coins I've been looking for other coins in it's price range and average volume, I'm not a big fish so I don't need huge volume and there can be awesome day trading profits to be made from a 1 or 2 sat difference at this price range.

your coin seems to have nice features but still haven't downloaded the wallet to test it out yet. is there a POS return or something similar?

There is "deposits" at the moment, that offer up to ~1% interest per year I think. Some plans to implement proof of activity, but it's not exactly clear what that means at the moment.

On another note, why are messaging and deposit features only supported in the GUI but not CLI interface?

First let me introduce an updated v3.1.1-beta ./digitalnoted daemon and updated v3.1.1-beta ./simplewallet with console message sending support, including messages 2.0.

It is strongly recommended for everyone to update DigitalNote to 3.1.1-beta for Messages 2.0.

So as a result for today we have new RPC Messages 2.0 API, full Messages 2.0 core support and console message sending.

Here is an example of message sending using DigitalNote simplewallet
Code:
transfer [mixin_count] [address] [-m "message"] [-ttl minutes]

-m is a message. Interface is very simple and sometimes can be limited by using "".
-ttl is a self destruct timer, set in minutes. Max value is 14 hours. After that time message will be excluded.

https://github.com/xdn-project/digitalnote/releases/tag/v3.1.1-beta

I'm not sure how to deposit with simplewallet...

Tipbot is up on #digitalnote channel on freenode IRC, and should be working on /r/digitalnote as well, though I haven't tested it there. If you're on reddit, please upvote the bot so that it doesn't have to type captchas as quickly as possible. Also, don't deposit too much at the moment on IRC or reddit at the moment, consider it in testing phase.

Edit: still troubleshooting a bit, but should be live soon...

Editedit: seems like bot is using some rpc calls that don't exist in xdn (only xmr), so might be a few days until up and running...

Sorry, but where can I find the bot on Reddit?

It's not working quite yet. I thought it was up and running, but it's using some functions that only exist in monero (get_bulk_payments) and not digitalnote. I think I'll be able to get it sorted out and post with some more details on how to use it in a day or three.

Can anyone explain to me how does messaging in XDN client wallet works? I sent a message and paid the fees, and set the anonymous level.

But it has been 48 hours and it only has 0 confirmations! It means message not sent?

Is XDN worth keeping? Smiley I mined some for fun. I have the option to trade it away for BTC in exchanges.

We are introducing a Reddit tipbot soon and hopefully a payment processor. I've noticed that messages to myself don't always work, but no problems with sending messages to others.

If message to self doesn't work, is that a bug? In other messaging applications such as BitMessage, or even our traditional e-mail, there should be no reason that sending message to self should not work.

Did you checked self-destruction timer? If so, it will not be included in blockchain and will be destroyed (deleted from tx pool) after some time and will always be 0 confirmations.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I'm new here, not sure if this is the right topic I can write this on, if not, please forgive me.

A few days ago I downloaded the XDN wallet because I wanted to acquire some XDN coins and I noted that the synchronization is very long, after three days was still synchronizing. For some reasons I had to turn off my pc. A message popped out telling me to wait because it has to save data. After a couple of days was still saving.

Is all that normal?

I don't understand why I don't have the XDN wallet on my desktop. Every time I wish to open the wallet I have to go where I download it and pass through that process, but it doesn't show up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

What block height is your synchronisation at? Are you connecting to any peers (shown on the bottom right of the wallet)? Currently we are at block 296619.

Point a short cut from wherever you want (Desktop, Taskbar, Start) to where you have the DigitalNote files extracted to. A user's blockchain and wallet data for Windows are stored in: C:\Users\'CURRENT USER'\AppData\Roaming\digitalnote

I think that when you try to close the wallet before it has reached the top block of synchronisation, you are asked to wait in the way you experienced however I have had to force wallets to close before being fully synced without any problems.

I have set the timer to the highest that the slider could go.

Let me try another round without enabling self-destruction and I will update in this discussion. Thanks!

Since I still can't get in I can't exactly tell at what block is. However for what I recollect, you may be correct.

As far as you know the synchro requires lots of memory?

I think the only solution for me would be to uninstall the wallet and then install it again. Is it enough to delete the wallet from the download folder or is there a process to follow?
