Im perfectly OK with Bitcoin, my only complains is the public ledger: I don't want my stuff to be public, so make it more anonymous. Oh and get more merchants so I can spend my coins.

Same here. Anonymity and poor financial privacy are also problem for me.

not much, but my bitcoin often borrowed and not returned
I would say it can happen with any currency as long as its not reversible. Bitcoin in nature isn't reversible. The least you could do is to request collateral as an insurance for your coins.

Yes non-reversible is the main feature many people loves here. This is the basic characteristics of the centralized ecosystem. Because there won't be any central power authority for any dispute arises. This is the main feature many people loves and many people hates.

Problem #1 with Bitcoin right now is buying it. In many countries, it's pretty much hard to do and localbitcoins.com is the only option which is not fastest and most convenient way + there are frequently no sellers around.

you can see it clearly what is the biggest problem with bitcoin, its unstability, can be easily manipulated, 450-360 in not time after a devastating pump in 3 days

people can trust this kind of thing, then you wonder why average joe aren't in yet...

pretty much exchange it into my currency. I never tried it, though, since im still relatively new and still collecting btc.. But the only local exchanger I know needs a photo verification to complete my account, and I don't really like the idea of posting my photos
You live in Indonesian right?
for your information, you can convert your bitcoin to the fiat easiest without verification by sell them to the personal exchanger they called "jasa tukar bitcoin" or something, you can find them, the trusted member on facebook group or you can use avanpay or  pulsabtc so far they are legit, just google it or the simple way is make your own thread on our local subforum

biggest problem is convert to my currency, I'm pretty hard to change, because there is no exchanger that converts into my currency
You can always get bitcoin debit card then withdraw the fund from your local atm Wink
It should fix your problem with bitcoin or find local exchanger from localbitcoins

Would be great if I can receive and send bitcoins instanly without any confirmation Grin
Try to put a bigger fee on your transcations, they would get confirmed faster Wink

are you sure?
what is your currency btw? IDR isn't it?
as far as i know that you from Indonesia even you have your own service on our local sub forum, the service is helping people to convert their bitcoin to the fiat with the smallest fee than vip.bitcoin,co,id
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1190148.msg12768355#msg12768355
as we know that in indonesian you can convert bitcoin to IDR easiest through the biggest exchanger
bitcoin,co,id or personal exchanger like avanpay, pulsabtc etc

if iam wrong, iam quite sure this acc has sold to you by someone from ID
please correct me if iam wrong
so if you live in other country, why not to try localbitcoins

First the safety of the BTC so you can't get scam.

Second the mining part it take so much electricity. :/

Third well I think everyone agrees that BTC goes down and up is scary when it goes down.

Confirmation time. People are saying it's more secure but it would also increase the transaction per second limit without having to change the block size. But I guess it's as complicated as changing the block size, if not more Grin .

The safety of Bitcoin itself is in your own hands Wink
Use offline Bitcoin to ensure the safety of your Coins and never share your private keys openly in the internet Sad

Well for the mining, it is take tons of electricity , yes
But it's actually profitable especially in china where electricity is really cheap Roll Eyes
If you have a cheap/free electricity i suggest to make your own mining farm Wink

The up and down of the price of bitcoin is normal, it's part of the cycle, no need to worry about that Smiley

I have to agree Amph with you on this one. I can't believe that we have went all the way to $350. For God's sake we were at $500 just a day ago. That is too much of the swing and to much of the volatility and I can see why average Joe would be afraid of all this. Bitcoin needs to grow and to become more stable asap.

This is more of a problem that can be solved by BIP32 implementation in Core wallet. Most other SPV clients has already implemented their own hierarchical deterministic wallets and could easily solve that problem by just remembering the seed.

For now, just make a backup every 100 transactions or less.

Yes this is my biggest problem with bitcoin/blockchain issues as of late.
It is caused by the miner's transaction fees being too small I know. But can it not be eliminated all together?
What is the minimum 0.0001btc? That is essentially 4 cents if not less now. This can be done away with right?

are you sure? via voucher? if iam not wrong you should upload your identity on vip before generate a voucher right? i prefer to suggest you to sell your bitcoin from your wallet on blockchain directly , i always did it, just less than IDR10k as fee which is smaller than vip's fee
