For the price to reach this high some significat party has to join and buy.
Not Amazon accepting bitcoin directly but some huge bank buying bitcoins.

I don't see anything like this happen in the next year or so.

I think the best for Bitcoin is a financial crisis.

Spot on! It will be the only thing that matters as the mess unfolds.

Maybe raising interest rates will help...  Grin

Well so far I only saw the negative growth of the global economy with Greece.
So far it seems Bitcoin and Forex are 2 completely seperate worlds, since they barely affect each other.

The upcominig 'crisis' could be a prefect way for investors to look for new investing oppertunties like bitcoin.

My wife asked me the other day, "What if I wanted to take all my money out of the bank, in cash?". I told her she would first need to talk to the bank and arrange for them to have that much cash on hand. Then she would need to fill out some federal forms. More and more people are starting to understand the value of decentralized digital currency since it gives you complete control of your money. As more people want to own at least one Bitcoin, or part of a Bitcoin, the price is going to go up.

I feel it's a safe bet that as the world financial crisis becomes more obvious, Bitcoin will become a much more popular way to secure investments. In the long run, volatility for fiat is going to be generally downward, and the volatility for decentralized digital currency will be generally upwards.

Entire $20.74?! Shocked "Imaginary human female looking to me for financial guidance: you'll have talk to the bank and arrange for them to have that much cash on hand. Then fill out some federal forms."

Best Bitcoin fanfic eva! Would read again.

Unless you have at least 50 posts that contribute something positive, you mean NOTHING here. Enjoy your imaginary importance.  Roll Eyes

Oh, and I believe you were the douche who asked how my "shitcoin" was doing... Bought another 100k over the holidays, and already more than doubled my money.  Grin EXCELLENT!

Maybe in july with the block halving.

But not before that. There is much more news needed for this to happen.
I don't think bitcoin to reach that level only by this july or on halving. 700-800 can be expected as at 1k we may see large selling blocks.

1200 dollar and that too in a month? Wow somebody has been drinking.
Let's hope we will make the  500 dollar price or for that matter 600 dollar, which is 50%....

I guess you weren't involved in this back in 2013. Big things can happen in just a few days, and yes we were totally sober.

Bitcoin price has started to be increased today, but i don't think that 1200-1300 within a month it's really impossible.

Lets be real, 1200+ is close to impossible in next year or two. Sometime in the next 5 years? Maybe. But its really doubtful we will ever see increases of the price like we did before. Too much have changed.
Next 5 years is a bit too far because it can happen even more before 2021, i expect in next year (maybe at the end of the year) to be around 1k

In the UK, you need to ring in advance, come with photo ID, and your bank may query why you need the cash and you may have to provide evidence for why you want to withdraw the amount. In addition to this, if the bank is not satisfied they can just straight out refuse and this has actually happened on a number of occasions. So much for the free movement of capital that an open economy should be based upon.

Amen brother... I tried getting some money out of my retirement account, and it's like going before the Spanish Inquisition to get your own money. Bitcoin is clearly a superior option with unlimited upside, and likely not much downside over the long term.
I also took some cash out of my bank to buy a car a few years ago, and they looked at me like I was from another planet when I told them I wanted cash. Had to wait 3 days for them to get the money, and then fill our a federal form. All this, and I'm not earning any interest. So I'm not sure what the advantage is keeping your money in a bank? Being able to write checks?
I think it won't be much longer before Bitcoin is considered a mainstream way to pay and receive money.

Why do people keep saying this??? It has already happened once! It went to over $1,000 in a matter of days. Bitcoin was selling for $1,350 EACH on Ebay. This next financial crash is going to be much bigger than 2008, and I expect we will see Bitcoin prices far north of $1,000 when the fat lady sings.

Remember, the debt is much larger now than when these numbers were published.

$700-800 can be reached within a few months. That is mainly because of the block reward halving.

I don't see it happen, not within 2 years at least.
The price is just encountering too much resistance right now.
I hope to see the price go to 500 very soon though.

everything is possible when it comes to bitcoin. i think with a great bull run and a good chunk of speculation we can reach these levels in just 12 months. that's only when everything is in the favor of bitcoin. otherwise we'll just see $600-$800 in 12 months time, which is also a great achievement.

We might see the bitcoin market price go to $1000 by the end of this year if everything goes well with the block halving.
