Are you going to wait until after this block to implement it?
(Note: I am #45, so I am still hashing so this would probably benefit me, but it might not really be perceived as fair to those who put a lot of work in at the beginning. Generally speaking though, I think score based is a great idea).
That's not a bad idea.

Share score is now being counted, I just need to make sure the numerics aren't lost in conversion.
Current round will stay proportional. Once the cheat-proof method is 100% working, I will flip the switch on the after the next successful round.

This pool is fantastic! I'm getting .4% stale. Amazing! Still confused (by the wording) of "share score" versus "proportional." It seems like a share-score system would be proportional. In what (contrasting) way is a share-score not proportional? Not proportional for pool-hoppers and their victims?

This is getting pretty ridiculous. Now some guy contributing 24 GH/s is in the pool and it's making my earnings go down even further. #88 is leaving the pool until all this gets sorted out.

Guys! Having people join the pool after share 250000 makes your earnings go up! It is having them leave the pool after block 250000 that makes them go down!

The odds that you ever find a block, and thus ever actually get paid, are 5x higher now. I'd rather wait longer to find a block rather than finding a block faster but having my BTC jacked from me by those who have more power than I do. Doesn't really matter, I'll be on deepbit until the current round finishes and the pool operator sorts out the problems. Then I will come back and hopefully the reward system is slightly better.

Foolish people are foolish.
I know your "estimated earnings" went down.. but those were ESTIMATED. No one is stealing from you.

To put it another way. You will 5 blocks now in the time it took you to find one before. So you are making money because of this.

Yes, all the early adopters will now get paid FASTER. more GHs in the pool means more money at a quicker payout.
Unfortunately, seeing your estimated payout decrease is a bit unnerving at first. It confused the crap out of me when I first started mining.
The difference is getting your estimated payout FASTER.
The more GHs the pool has, the faster it solves blocks and the more likely it is to solve the block at all.
Your payout may be smaller, but you'll get it more frequently.
Basically over time the amount should be the same, unless you get unlucky or overly lucky in a very small pool

Do you guys not understand? I've been mining for 24 hours with 1 GH/s and I've made 0.2 BTC today.
Allow me to repeat that.
1 GH/s, 24 hours, 0.2 BTC.

kiwi, i calculate that if a block is solved right now, your payoff will be 2.31 BTC, which is better than average for 24 hours at your hashrate

But, I've also mined 24 hours yesterday. That 2.3 BTC is from both yesterday (before users 143 and 164 came in) and today (+0.2 BTC)

your average for 2 days should be 3.54 btc. you might get that in a very large pool, where the probabilities are so spread out that they come close to the average. this is a small pool, we are here to cash in for being lucky. and we will lose if we are not.
