All orders confirmed, totals updated. We're at 209 sticks sold. I was hoping to see 600 sold, but hey, we'll get there.

Updated with current sales. PCBs and heatsinks are on order. No favorable word yet on our pick-and-place, which might cause delays in initial shipment since we'll be slowed down without it, but it'll get done.

Software dev is progressing. I've got a stick headed to Luke-Jr for BFG support and we're working on cgminer drivers.

The reseller for Europe seems to be a newbie account with 2 posts and a webshop that doesn't show the stick. Is there another option to buy in europe?

Macentyre isn't really a newbie any more than some legendary members are anything more than people who post a lot.  bitshopper.de's been around for quite a while and have done official builds of the NanoFury II and NanoFury 6.  I have some of their gear.  My only concern would be with regard to pricing.  The reason there's nothing up on the site as of yet is probably because he doesn't have any to sell yet (needs to be manufactured first; same applies to the ones being sold through this thread), and doesn't do pre-orders.

That said.. Could set up a group buy off of GekkoScience if there's enough people who want one from GekkoScience 'direct' (I pledged for two, but that's more for collection's sake).  Not sure who'd be best to organize that (UK may shave the most cost off of shipping in the end - not entirely certain though).

I don't mind paying to a newbie account if sidehack says "no, that dude is good, safely pay him, I deliver to him", it's just that I haven't been buying hardware in a while and saw two possible red flags there. But I do want to buy a set of sticks, even if it's for fun only. Problem with getting them into the EU is the VAT and the relatively high shipping. That's why I hoped to order "locally" Wink

My official stance on selling in Europe is talk to MacEntyre first. If you still would rather buy my sticks, I'll sell them, but he's manufacturing and selling in Europe and I'd rather folks support local economy where possible. So talk to him first.

^^^^^^^^^

this is one of the main reasons I support sidehack.

if sidehack says talk to someone 1st, hes is pretty much OK as he has met sidehack standards and they are pretty high.

He's dealt squarely with me so far, and paid down in timely manner for his share of the chips. VS3 vouched for him with his licensing of NanoFury designs. At present I have no reason to doubt him.

49,95 EUR, that's quite a hefty markup on it!

For less you get a BFL Jalapeno: https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage-new-products/10-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html Smiley

don't post links to bfl   --------  Grin

but a 10gh piece of gear using 60 watts compared to a 13.5gh  piece of gear using 6 watts  is not a good comparison.

I have 2 sticks that use  about 11 watts and give me 27.0 gh  so these are 20x more power efficient then a Jalapeno

There is no hefty markup if you take everything into account. The main reason for the price difference is VAT and manufacturing cost. GekkoScience can manufacture themselves. Me not.

Here I gave some further details why the price is different: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141518.msg12042208#msg12042208

If you still believe that one can get filthy rich selling 800 USB stick miner - believe it! Maybe it'll become true and I can retire.  Tongue

P.S. Don't compare it with a Japapeno. This is an offensive insult!  Wink

The only part I was comparing with was the hashrate, don't think for a second there are other similarities besides the encryption algo Wink

I'm not trying to keep you from having dinner on the table, just wondering where the difference is. I'll respond on the other thread to keep this one cleaner Smiley
